Five spice prawn salad was good. Some of the tables in there are not the nicest to sit at. Try to call ahead and reserve a booth or something away from the door. We were seated right by the front door and with the door opening all the time it was really cold.
Good flavour and unique dishes. On the duck confit hash, the flavour was good, and decent portion size. Could have done with more duck, but the helping of wild mushrooms was generous! The greens were quite bitter for how many there were; might have been a bad batch. As for the crêpes Suzette, flavour was good; could maybe have had a little more caramelization on the sauce and the portion was a bit small - another crêpe would have sopped the remaining sauce nicely. Overall, I would visit again!
went to artisan bistro this morning and had such a lovely time! our server with curly burgundy hair was so wonderful and knowledgeable, she really made us feel appreciated. the food was so delicious and the atmosphere was comfortable like eating at home. we will be back!!
A pleasant surprise! The cuisine was perfectly prepared and menu outstanding, service was friendly and timely; reminiscent of true French bistro. We went for breakfast, and I'm looking forward to going again for dinner!
Service was excellent. Food was tasty and well presented
We stopped in for lunch on our way to the ferries. We knew nothing about the place, tried it on a whim and were very impressed! I had the pork belly eggs Benedict and my husband had the pork belly beet salad, both dishes exceeded our expectations by far! Service was friendly and welcoming as well. We are from Vancouver which feels like the city of mediocre food and this was anything but that.
Very good meal. Service was friendly and professional. Pork belly hash was delicious and well presented. Meal was promptly served and paired well with a light lager.
The lunch was great! Huevos Benny, just perfect!Mostly I want to compliment the waitress, Athina I believe, whose manner was friendly, personable and efficient. I did not have a chance to say so to her directly, but want her to know what a positive impact she had on the dining experience.
Great to support local. Had a nice beef ragout with a hearty blasted church can franc. The Pale ale had a nice start to the meal.
Get together with friends. Small indoor cafe with limited menu and a few outdoor tables. Was wanting crepes but the online menu hasn't been updated as it is pre-Covid. Fish and chips and service was good. Was expecting more from the reviews.
We are slowly getting used to visiting restaurants again rather than just getting takeout. This Bistro offered a comfortable patio setting that was well spaced. Our yummy brunch was complimented with good coffee and friendly service. I would definitely visit again if in the area.
This is a small restaurant with a very fine cuisine following a European atmosphere. The menu is varied, light and full of flavour. We had the vegetarian gnocchi and the braised beef fettuccine. First, the portion sizes were perfect, the pasta plates had been heated prior to serving. Delicious is an understatement. Finally we shared the crepe Suzette at the end of the meal, great for palate cleansing. The servers were attentive and pleasant. Good restful background music accompanied our meal and the tables well spaced for privacy. All in all this was a first class dining experience and our compliments to the chef ... . I should also mention a week earlier, and for the first time, we went to the bistro for breakfast. Once again, the food was excellent, the service first class, and again the European touch, including a dog bowl just outside the eating area for our dog. Didn't want to leave her in the car in such hot weather.
Great ambiance and good seating outside. Their burgers are great and fairly priced.
Enjoyed our recent (return) visit to Artisan. Good food, and the waitstaff are friendly and attentive. Really enjoyed the patio on a nice warm night, though the have inside seating as well. Recommended!
We made a reservation to try this bistro after hearing gd things about it. Unfortunately they had a had a large party . At first we thought it was enchanting to see all the lovely dressed parents and children having such a gd time celebrating a special occasion - but after a bit the noise in the glassed in Bistro became thunderous. This party needed its own room to celebrate properly or the restaurant should have not taken our reservation or anyone else’s on the inside. We got our food to take out which I would describe as mediocre. I suffered indigestion all night.
