I had the braised pork belly with polenta and black kale as an appetizer. The main course was duck confit which was good but only came with par boiled rice. Dessert was excellent. It was sticky toffee pudding but a little too much sugar. Overall I recommend this restaurant as a quaint little getaway in the heart of Royal Oak.

Went for lunch today with a friend and had a very enjoyable time! Didn't feel rushed and the service was excellent - thanks Josh! I enjoyed the 5 Spiced Prawn Salad (starter size - $16) - I felt it was enough quantity for my lunch! It was delicious - the prawns were so tasty! The salad was fresh and the candied pecans, mandarin pieces, fresh avocado, and lemon-thyme vinaigrette went well with the prawns. The coffee tasted great too (nice that they had oat milk) - thanks for the free refills.Lots of space - easy wheelchair accessible (although I didn't check the bathroom access). Gluten free options here too.Overall, I highly recommend this place - a positive atmosphere. Will be back!

You can choose french toast as your toast option for breakfast! French toast, you guys! Now you don't have to pick either sweet or savory. Why not both?

Might be the best burger I've eaten. A bit messy but the patty was cooked perfectly and there was thick cut bacon in every bite . Upgraded to the bistro salad which was delicious. Server was very friendly and the atmosphere

My first time here - what a great little restaurant! Our server, Josh, was so pleasant and friendly. Great coffee and the food was delicious. I had the huevos rancheros benny (great hollandaise sauce) and my husband had the black and blue burger with truffle fries. Apparently they make everything from scratch, including their delicious ketchup, and it shows. In the current post-pandemic wasteland of disappointing dining experiences, this stood out as something special. Will be back!

Apple crepes. Just go and have them. They'll make your day!
Went to get a drip coffee. It was not fresh and cost me $4.20 for a 12 Oz cup! Next.

Sunday brunch /breakfast was as good as we’d hoped it would be.I had classic eggs Benedict with a side of avocado. They serve on ciabatta which was nicely crisp, the medium eggs were perfectly cooked and the ham was “real” and not deli meat. I particularly loved their homemade habanero hot sauce. Both dining companions had omelettes and while tasty both said that they were two thin and crepe like.I noted that both orders of toast were perfectly toasted .,.. which is seriously no small feat in Victoria where toast is often warmed up bread.Where I’d like to see improvement is with the coffee. We ordered two Americanos , one looked dark but tasted bitter the second was an odd shade of light brown …. We wondered if perhaps a short pour. The third in our crew had just a regular coffee that she declared undrinkable. The server was friendly and attentive and apologetic re the coffee. As we were leaving we noticed a lady at another table with a Starbucks coffee in a takeout cup. I’d go here again for sure. But I’ll bring my own coffee.

Foods here are served in enough quantity for one customer to eat, less salty but have to pick the toast very carefully.

Great food, waitress was very nice. Half order of Benny, said no chorizo. Waitress offered substitute of mushrooms. Yummy! Bill added $5 for the substitute, waitress said her boss said she had too because of half order but never told us. A bit frustrating. Still great food and staff friendly.Vegetarian options: Charge for substitutes.
