Legit sushi in the mountains ! This was a pleasant and unexpected find in Whistler. The restaurant is located right next to the Fairmont about a 2 minute walk away. Advance reservations are not accepted but you can call them the day you'd like to dine. I'd recommend calling as early in the day as possible. Ambiance: the restaurant looks like an typical, authentic sushi bar. There were 3 sushi chefs working when we visited. Although it's not an exact science, I believe the sushi chefs were Japanese which is always a plus for me.Service was prompt, friendly, and not rushedFood was actually very good. Given this was a sushi bar in the middle of a forest, during President's Day weekend, and at the tail end of a pandemic I'd say it was a great sushi bar! Not as good as Nobu in Vail or Matsuhisa in Aspen, but way better than the sushi place at the Montage Deer Valley. We tried the very spicy tuna roll, salmon roll, king crab California roll, vegetable roll, and assorted sushi pieces. The fish was fresh and flavorful. The sushi was carefully constructed and the fish of high quality. The portion size was actually quite large for a sushi bar a definite plus! They had a nice selection of sake and Japanese beer.I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would certainly go here if it was located near my home in Los Angeles.Summary:Ambiance: 4 starsService: 5 starsFood: 4-4.5 stars. If you want to put things on a sliding scale and consider your at a mountain ski resort I'd go as far as bumping it up to to 5 stars.

Just want to preface this by saying I rarely review restaurants and this could be one of my first yelp reviews ever but this place is so worth the review. We had a waitress Sonya (I believe that was her name! From south Brisbane!!). She was so friendly and wonderful and gave us her recommendations. They did NOT disappoint!! We got the mango soy roll, crunchy tuna, and beautiful tempura roll. They were all amazing but especially the mango and beautiful rolls. It was by far the best bang for our buck in Whistler and the quality was insanely good. Sonya said they get fresh fish daily and the taste definitely reflects that. Couldn't recommend this place enough. In doubt??? Go here!!!!

I thought this was pretty decent sushi for up in the mountains! Service was a bit slow but it was crazy busy. There was no interaction with the sushi chefs if you sat at the sushi bar. I ordered a sushi plate and the fish was fresh but very basic.

Excellent! Nigiri was spot on with freshest of the fresh! Service was excellent and people were great!

The sushi was great. I had joked to my, father who is japanese, "Can't be good sushi in the mountains. Where do they get the fish?" But i was dead wrong. Fresh, delicious, well worth the trip up the mountain to get there.Food: 5/5

Good, not great.Four of us came here for dinner. After reading the reviews, we left a bit underwhelmed. The fish was fresh and tasty but the presentation and quality were off. This review is mainly for the sushi rolls. The quantity of fish to rice is not right. Way too much rice with a little fish in the middle and poorly rolled so everything breaks up on your plate while trying to eat with chopsticks. Think large, wide, half-inch pieces that fall apart while eating. They should know better how to roll sushi. Would recommend the beautiful roll though.

Hands down my favourite sushi place in town. Always a fan of the off-season deal, however would come here regardless for the high quality of food and great service. The red dragon roll is simply sublime.Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is up a set of stairs, however there may be an alternative way to access for a wheelchair user.

We where disappointed with our dinner. It was just ok. My husband order grilled king salmon got a "fish head " with very little salmon on it. Our sushi rolls tasted like tack sushi .

The people who were able to eat said the food was excellent. Service was also outstanding. Unfortunately the first glasses of water they served us tasted funny. Two of us were very thirsty from hiking and drank our glasses. The rest were smarter ... a few hours later we felt better so we weren'table to eat the food. I think the pitcher and / glasses weren't rinsed after washing. Lesson learned.

Being from the lower mainland I often eat sushi with great flavor and this place was not it! Ordered 8 different rolls and they had very little flavor and were 80% rice. Not exaggerating. Pretty much a rice wheels with a tiny bit of flavorless fish/ chosen filling. I would not recommend this place and will not be returning.

Forgot to take pictures but pretty solid Japanese restaurant in Whistler. I came here a few times and tried most - they are on the small side but definitely fresh and tasty. I would say the price is pretty reasonable considering the location. I liked their Robata (hamachi is better than black cod), rolls (Red Dragon and Spider roll is my fav and BC roll is a bit on the salty side) and sashimi (although I would say it is not the highlight - you can find better sashimi in quality and quantity for the same price back in vancouver).
