Honestly, IF I could give this place a sixth star, I would! It's just fantastic! The food is exotic, fresh and really creative. The service is terrific! And if you buddy up to your wait person, they have off-menu treats and cocktails that are worth exploring. I can't wait to go back and explore more!
I've never had anything like it. Went to Berkley yo visit friends and came here for dinner. Food, fantastic! Service, top notch! Drinks, amazing!
Really good izakaya. The braised pork belly and squid ink rice is really good. Also nice selection of japanese beer and yakitori!
This is a fun and romantic Japanese snack bar. It has very good yet expensive skewers (7-9 dollar/2 skewers). I wouldn't say the food matches the price. However, the uniqueness of this place is that it allows you to really sit down and talk to your friends for more than 3+ hours. Have some sake, enjoy life.
The food is very good but it's overpriced and difficult to figure out how much food is appropriate. Everything is basically meat on skewers and the skewers are $3-8 each. It was very difficult to come here as a group, we ended by getting a second dinner afterwards.

As far as I know, the only real Japanese grocery store in Berkeley. Great selection of pretty much everything you need to make most Japanese dishes. Only downside is the star protein is fish, not meat - while they do have chicken thigh, pork loin for tonkatsu, and a few other things, the selection is small. The fish selection, on the other hand, is massive. Butchers are very nice, and so are the staff.
You get what you pay for. The fish and service here are excellent. It is not cheap. If you have a fish dinner you want to make sure is absolutely perfect, get your fish here. If you're on a tight budget you may want to consider other options.
the seafood is fresh and perfectly processed by people there. they have best quality of fish. I love the sushi there too. I will definitely recommend this place if you love seafood. the staff are friendly, polite and helpful.
Huge variety in a compact store, so you don't spend all day looking! Organized so we'll, everything's just where you'd expect it. Plus - fresh Japanese deli food to go! The best!
Great fish market with other Asian and non Asian delights. Adorable and fresh. Totally legit.

Nice atmosphere. Good cocktails. Good service. Really great food. Expect a long wait if you don't have reservations.
Took my parents here for lunch and everything was delicious. I had the fried tomato sandwich and loved every bite. Will definitely be back.
Wood Tavern has a relaxing, homey feel that carries through into the food. The meat dishes are always cooked to perfection and are paired with yummy sauces. My one complaint is that it gets pretty loud, which can make conversations difficult in large groups.
An absolutely phenomenal combination of flavor and ambiance gives way to a strong contender for the title of best restaurant in Oakland.
Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Was not rushed and waiter was so friendly.

Monterey Fish is the best fresh fish store in the East Bay. The Berkeley store is their retail operation; they supply wholesale to a number of SF and surrounding Bay Area restaurants. They stock a range of freshly obtained, primarily locally available fish from California and Alaska. Both steaks and fillets, and whole fish are available. Counter staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and will clean and dress whole fish or crabs on request. In season, crabs and lobsters are available, along with a small but strong selection of shellfish. A counter of prepared, seasoned fish, including lox, is available.
The Monterey Fish Market has the freshest seafood you can buy in the Bay Area, ranking at the top with the Tokyo Fish Market. What sets the Monterey Fish Market apart is its focus on sustainable sources; each product is accompanied by a description of where and how it was obtained.
Really fresh fish and good service! Good selection, too.
Great market for fresh seafood.
Nice folks, great fish.

Interesting Korean fusion but a lot better than other places around Berkeley. The million dollar bacon is something I would try once and not touch again (super greasy and fattening, lots of flavor). I got the burger, which was pretty good. The service was good as well.
Finally! A place with great Korean food I don't have to drive miles and miles for! Went for the classics: fried chicken and galbi. Best I've had in a while. Also added the sampler platter, which was too much food! No complaints though, made an excellent next day meal 😋. Next time we'll be more adventurous in choices!
The food here is awesome. Some many options I went with the frech toast, million dollar bacon plus the coconut latte = a wonderful new comfort food meal. The service for our large party of 14 was great including the pillow for my nephew for the highchair. Will return soon for the pancakes!
This place had some really good food. I split three dishes with three friends. We had KFC, short ribs, and some sort of hamburger over rice. The hamburger was very mediocre, but the other two were well worth it. Good beer to accompany it too. It's a bit high in price for the amount of food you get though, so don't expect to leave with a check under $20.
This place is great! The KFC bowl and salad are highly recommend. The millionaire bacon wonderful. Great selection of beers. A very nice sangria. The chocolate soufflett is great. Go. Now!
