This location is hit or Miss, when I come in the day time the cook is better, The night time cook just does what he want to food, I got the new loaded chicken skillet, for starters it's suppose to have a cheese sauce how about he or she put Alfredo sauce on the them and then when I mentioned it to the manager, she didn't seem to care at all, she tried to debate and tell me what is suppose to go on my food.

Nice reasonably priced restaurant in Alameda next to Trader Joe's in the south Shore shopping complex.Based on recent experience , the food is actually well prepared here and tastes surprisingly good. We selected the from $28 package and got the fiesta lime chicken and a 6 ounce sirloin along with onion rings as the appetizer selection. The onion rings were great, crispy crunchy even when cold and not greasy. The fiesta lime chicken was grilled just right and wasn't dry. Taste wise, every thing was good. Nothing fancy or weird, just straightforward and good.Clientele is diverse, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Familes, multi-generational families, friends, and couples come here for an inexpensive meal or a beer and snacks. The background music is easy on the ears and lends well to conversation.Service is polite and friendlyPark near the Kohls department store to avoid the mess in front of Safeway. If you're looking for a nice place to grab a nice meal without breaking your budget, Applebee's in Alameda is a solid choice

Based on the experience that my family shared with me I find it important to submit this review. There are several complaints that I feel warrants the contents of this review, first being that was was my mom's birthday who is over 80 years old and who was expecting to have a pleasant experience was put in a position of embarrassment due to several things such as being seated in the midst of a fire hazard, over charging on the bill, over and under cooked foods, dirty plates, no refills on any of the drinks, no birthday dessert, and an extremely rude manager. There was a total party of 10 guest made up of my mom's family and friends whom most of the food was sent back due to mistakes being made on their orders. i.e. my mom requested that instead of double glazed ribs they would be made single. They were sent back due to her order not being prepared as requested. In the original order, she'd also ordered broccoli and mashed potatoes but when it was returned it was replaced with only French fries, she decided instead of sending it back for a second time she ate the ribs and not the fries. Another of my family members who ordered a well done burger was brought one that was rare and bloody. Another of the family members asked for extra Caesars salad dressing which was placed on the plate of my siblings sirloin steak order who is allergic to that particular type of dressing. so once again another order had to be sent back because she was not willing to take the risk of any of the dressing that may have fallen on the steak. She'd originally ordered her steak medium and she could tell when her order was returned that it was the same steak that she had originally had and was put back on the same plate with dried blood with her mashed potatoes on top. In addition they arrived at the restaurant during "Happy hour" but was charged full price for the appetizers when it should have been included with the combination that was ordered. The server mentioned that "The order had to be put in the system after 3 p.m."". and that "The system automatically charges for half the price at that time". After an hour of debating about the total amount of the bill with the manager who at that point was not willing to give a refund, she decided that she would pull the report which would indicate the actual times the orders were placed in the system. After the reviewed time it was discovered that the server placed the order at 3:14 pm. Since there were several mistakes on the final bill my sibling asked for an explanation for the charges on the bill from the server who was unable to explain the charges of everything so she stated that she would "Call the manager" whose name was Sofia to explain. Since there was not an agreement that could be reached, my sibling asked for the phone number of the GM to which she was given a card which only had the general number to the restaurant. She then asked to have a direct number for the GM to which the question was asked of her "What do you want me to do call her and have her to get out of bed and come to the restaurant to talk to you?" to that my sibling stated that she "Only needed the number to leave the message for the manager". After further review of the bill it was found that all the charges that were in question were accurate and some of the charges were restored There was indeed more information that could be added, but space would not permit. Essentially I am writing this review from another state on behalf of my family. It saddens me that my mom had this experience.

TL;DR: Me and my date got sick here, and also snarled at by the bartender working there on February 5th, around 8:30pm.So me and my date went to sit and order at the bar at Applebee's in Alameda on February 5th, and all my date did was ask if I could get a glass of water with no ice in it. The woman working the bar (i think latina, winged eyeliner, black hair and pear shaped figure) did give it to us and we thanked her, but at random parts of the evening, she would be death staring at me and our date? It made us extremely uncomfortable. Because we were polite about it, but she was fully turning to us and snarling for a really long time, despite us keeping to ourselves and minding our business? She kept that up for the entire duration of our stay, (we arrived between 8pm and 10pm iirc, and it made both of us extremely uncomfortable. We did leave (because an impending alternation between a drunk couple next to us was starting) but it was so weird that I had to address this with your business. This was on February 5th around 10pm, maybe 10:30pm. And to narrow it down, my date had a beer and I ordered the boneless chicken wingz and spinach artichoke dip. (I even asked her which she would recommend/which looked the best to her and she seemed super friendly and helpful, not sure she was blatantly being hostile the rest of the evening. Undeniably. She and the more round latino man wearing a black button down kept staring our way and not saying anything; I assumed it was just idk curiosity or zoning out, until the woman was full on eye contact snarling???? Very very weird)Me and my date also got sick after eating at this establishment? We only ate here, but they got a bunch of mucus and a really bad cough the other day the morning after our date wrapped up, and then this morning I woke up with the world's sorest throat and biggest throat loogies ever. (And I ate nothing but soup since that night, so I know it was this place.) Not sure what happened, but that paired with the waitress being weird, is super bad.Weird customer service, even worse to get sick off it. I hope no one did anything to our food, because thats ridiculous. I wonder if they thought we were someone else and tampered with the meal.

I just ordered the bourbon steak. Asked for it medium. This is beyond well done. Tastes like rubber. Won't be coming here again. Two is just me being nice on food. Going to try to save this steak somehow ??‍♂️nope just took a bite. It's rough. Teach your cooks to know meattemperatures please.

We went on New Year's Eve and the staff made it very apparent they did not want to be there. We arrived around 1:30, so late lunch. Only three tables were seated in the entire restaurant. I asked the hostess if we could be seated at a table as close to the door as possible indicating the cane I was using. She walked us all the way across the restaurant indicating a table on the far wall. Then our waitress kept ignoring us taking forever to take our order bring our food etc. Again four tables total it's not like she was busy. We had to use the flag server light up button on the electronic payment thing three times to get her to come over and complete payment. I would get if we had come in at 11:00 p.m. that's messing up their night but we were there for lunch service there was no reason for everyone to be so rude
