Portions are HUGE! Came here my myself and got two things and was surprised by the size when they came.Khao soy ($18) was good. Fresh noodles were soft and not overcooked. Flavor was good without being too salty.Fried clear rice roll wraps ($18) were crispy and tasty. I’ve had a hard time finding these in other restaurants. Love that it comes with lettuce and fresh herbs to balance it out.Would definitely come back to try their other items, but recommend coming with friends to share the large portions.

Recently tried out Bhan Mae Vane for the first time and I was very impressed! We opted for their pad see ew with tofu, nam kao (a crispy rice ball salad), Thai style papaya salad, and a Thai iced green tea and not only were the portions beyond generous, everything was also a delightful fusion of textures and flavors. Sure, parking might be a bit of a challenge with only street parking available, but I think it's worth the hassle. If you're in Alameda and craving Laotian/Thai cuisine with huge portions and friendly service, look no further!

Love this restaurant! I've been here twice so far and hope to come back much more. First time I came with a friend and we shared the crispy pork belly (OMG!!), Sakoo (savory tapioca balls), and pumpkin curry. All were delicious although I wish the curry was more creamy? Next time, came with my husband for valentines day, no reservations and was able to sit down right away. Again I got the crispy pork belly (so yummy), spring rolls with giant juicy shrimp, Rad Nah (flat noodles in a yummy gravy sauce) and my husband got the Khao Piek (his favorite is from Champa Garden in Oakland). All in all, it was very good. If I could have the crispy pork belly every day, I would. Also wish they had a full liquor license for cocktails but maybe someday! Wine and beer is good for now.

This is my go to spot in Alameda to get delicious Thai and Laotian food. We usually get crab fried rice (must get!!!) and a meat platter (beef spare ribs, pork belly, and fried chicken wings). I definitely enjoy the crab fried rice the most but green curry is also good. Trust me. You will not be disappointed if you come here

Wow! My husband and I wanted to try this restaurant because their Yelp reviews were good. So, we came in for lunch and were not disappointed. Super cute inside with fun lighting. We ordered crispy pork belly, drunken noodles beef, yellow curry chicken and chicken satay. We loved each dish and would order them again. Their portions are generous and the service is good. We have a lot of leftovers and I can't wait to have them at home!

Coming back around for another 5 review! Shared a papaya platter and pad see ewe (not pictured) + laab beef salad between 5 people and we were stuffed!!! It was a perfect amount of food for all of us. Every time I'm in the bay, this place is a MUST for authentic lao food! LOVE ITTTT

This restaurant never fails to put out incredible food. We mostly get takeout because I live around the corner. They are so nice too; even when they are slammed (which is often) they are gracious and get our orders right, and quickly. Some faves include their Laotian spring rolls with shrimp, pad see ew with shrimp, the string beans with tofu and the Laotian rice with preserved sausage. We are lucky to have this restaurant in the neighborhood because it's definitely a destination spot.

Really delicious high quality food! We missed out on the fresh spring rolls because the kitchen was backed up. But nice to know there's more to look forward to next time. Nice wine menu. Lovely staff as well :)
