I believe there's better music that represents Mexico. Other than cartel type, people without any talent.... sad . I hope the owner of this restaurant chooses better music to represent his place better.?

This place had lots of great food and the staff were awesome. It was an amazing experience with lots of great food. The vegetarian options were many and the hot sauce was super hot! The tacos were amazing and they let you customize your own.The kids loved the horchata because it was served in a traditional clay pot.

I came on a Saturday for bottomless mimosas. I got here before my friends so I was taking my time drinking.. once they got here, my friend asked what time bottomless mimosas ended and the server told her it's by the hour. Very disappointing, had I known that, I would've drank faster.. and also most places have set hours, so that was unusual. The server took a long time to bring the drinks out, too, so an hour is ridiculous for bottomless. The food was delicious at least - I got birria tacos with cheese and that did not disappoint.

1/12/24 I came in today for dinner and when we walked into the restaurant there was no one there to greet us. I had to find the cook in the back just to get there attention. Then while waiting for the server to come to our table we notice a COCKROACH crawling on the ground. Then when I pointed it out to the server all she said was "oh haha" and then stomped it out and swept it up. That is SO GROSS! I came here about 10 times already and won't be going back after this experience. Truly disappointed this place was good but after this I won't be going back.

I'm sorry but I have to give this a 1 star review.I waited almost exactly an hour for queso fundido and three tacos. There wasn't a lot of people. I really actually waited patiently but the food I received disappointed me. Felt rushed. Taste wasn't the best. So i don't think I would give it another try. My whole order was about $33, really pricey. My visit was on December 21 at 6:30pm

We discovered this place through one of the delivery services during the pandemic and was pretty excited to visit the restaurant in person, since the food always arrived still pretty hot and delicious. The place initially was only half open on the inside with outdoor seating. Sorry, the concept of sitting outside on the street is still a bit nerve wracking for me. The place has since completely opened up on the inside and service has been pretty good. I definitely recommend it especially when there's not that many options for good tacos on the west side of the island.

Not great service, had to wait over half an hour just to get my order. No one helped me inside, the host does not even care that you're a paying customer. No greeting, no care, no welcome. I had to finally get up and ask someone else for my order and it had just been sitting on the table because they don't care enough to actually hand you the food you paid for after it's been ready. Awesome service guys!!!!!!!!!

Love this place! I ordered the vegan burrito and my partner had the shrimp and fish taco platter. Both were delicious. We shared the churros, which were vegan without the caramel sauce. Overall a little spicy for my wimpy palate, but the flavors were definitely there! The service and the smiles were the best though. I have all but given up on good service, but not to worry, I found a friendly face here.

There were a lot of good elements about the restaurant. When you walk in the ambiance is okay. Just an average place. Although the. Bathroom didn't look too good. A little cluttered. I ordered a regular chicken burrito. It was simple with some beans, rice, and chicken. Hard to mess up, but the chicken was awful. Tougher than leather and it weirdly tasted like fish. The beans and rice inside the burrito were actually tasty though. The salsa was top notch. They had a habanero one that was really good! If it wasn't for the service I would give them 1 star. The service was so attentive and nice I felt bad the food doesn't compliment the young man who helped me. Not going to lie I would not come back and I wish I had my money back for that awful chicken burrito.

Not worth a trip. Tried three tacos, none were memorable. Quite a letdown given overall good reviews.

Any native San Franciscans left out there? If so, we know that both the Mission and Excelsior Districts are the mecca for Latin Food! (as well as other cuisines from around the world). Canasta Kitchen is one of the FEW restaurants that go the extra mile to ensure your Falutas and Sopes are made with fresh masa and toppings. Chips and salsa: I appreciate the 3 salsa favors they bring out with the chips: My favorite the creamy habanero. And the Baja Fish Tacos? They are light, crispy, well balanced with the right amount of toppings and lime. Somehow they were able to capture the mood and essence of being in Baja CA (known for their battered fish tacos!) Favorite Libation: The Margaritas-- any of them. Again, all fresh ingredients! The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel at home! When our families comes into town, it is the ONLY place we take them for Mexican food on the Island.
