I stopped in the other day to get 2 bagels and a small tub of cream cheese. The price was $10, which I thought was high for baked goods. When I got home and tried to slice the bagels open, they were rock hard. Not sure if I was given old bagels. I toasted and tried the bagels. They were ok, but the dough was very dense and I did not care for them. The service was not friendly, just pop the bagels in and pushed my direction, no smile or thank you. I don't think I will go back to this store. Not welcoming.Parking: Parking in this location is hard to come by, it is a busy street.

I have gone into this shop a number of time and the four times I went, I felt the person behind the counter was doing me a favor. Very rude, they don't even look at you when you are ordering. Will not visiting again or taking friends and family.

I've been going here since 2008. I always order the jalapeño and cheddar bagels plain. Usually they're good enough to just eat without anything. Today is my birthday, so decided to treat myself to a bagel, and this bagel that was supposedly made today tasted old! Super stale and dry. Who are you trying to fool here? Such a shame. After reading other reviews I see that they're trying to sell old bagels as fresh ones.

Jalapeño bagel with pastrami. Dined in and table was dirty with cream cheese streaks. But overall it was okay.

I stumbled upon this hidden gem of a bagel shop, and I can't stop raving about it! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm aroma of freshly baked bagels. It was clear that these folks take their bagels seriously. Andy was very friendly would be coming back!

Asked for bagel with cream cheese & lox. They gave me literally like a teaspoon of cream cheese for the entire bagel. It didnt even fully cover the bottom half of the bagel, zero cream cheese on the top half. What a joke!

Worst lox bagel I’ve had. Everything tasted I dunno “low quality” and they didn’t put on capers.

Bagels suck, everything is microwaved and the place stinks.

Friendly staffs, bagels freshly made. They offer many different kinds of cream cheese with the bagels. We ordered breakfast bagel and blueberry bagel with cream cheese. Both is great!

1st TimerNo line when I arrived midafternoon on a weekday craving a bagel brunch. I only waited 3 min in total for my meal.I ordered a salmon lox bagel per recommendation from the staff on an everything bagel as most of their case selections were out.It was pretty good but when they cut it in half I noticed some of the smoked salmon was brown and discolored not pink like the rest of it which was off putting to me. My friend recently bought the TJ's everything bagel lox and when she opened it found live worms on it so I'm super vigilant when ordering lox anywhere now and examine everything. If I was the owner or staff preparing food at this establishment, I would've removed the discolored portion and trashed it. May comeback to try the breakfast or tuna bagel but will check if their salmon is fresh from now on.

I was walking to Starbucks which is right next door when I looked over and saw house of bagels. I paused for a moment, and then decided I’d much rather try something new as I was just in the area for an appointment. The service was so fast and my bagel was made so quickly that I stood there confused for a moment hahaha. Excellent efficient service and my bagel was delicious!

Being from NY, bagels are serious business for us, and are something we miss a great deal since moving west. We've found most of the things touted as bagels in CA are round bread with a hole. As bagels in California go, House of Bagels is always the closest thing there is to a real bagel. Every location we've gone to is always busy and the teams move fast to try and keep things moving, while being pleasant. Good enough.

Quality/Quantity - Got a few of the leftover bagels. Yes, they were sold out of most... They were good and it hit the spot. Went well with our bucket of leftover cream cheese. Atmosphere - Small local business. Open 7 days a week from 6am to 5:30pm. Street parking. Service - Excellent, chatted about the SF location and history for a few minutes before leaving. Price - $2 each + tax. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since 1962. I used to visit your original location in SF. Not sure how many locations you still have...? And what is your relationship with each one...
