Sad to hear that this is no longer! I enjoyed the seaside drive to visit various food trucks every week. It was nice supporting small businesses and the local economy.I liked that it was near lots of parking and shopping. Only thing I’d improve would be some sort of shade for the picnic tables. Luckily, unrelated to the event, there were plenty shaded tables near the shops.Hopefully, this weekly event can regroup near Spirits Alley. West End breweries could use this!

Great selection of food trucks on a Saturday afternoon, including a truck with tea-focused ice cream flavors. Lots of space but could use a few picnic tables set up for the patrons.

If you really like a good food truck experience, this ain't the one. Save your $ and eat at ANY of the restaurants across the parking lot.

Ordered senior sigsig pork salad, menu says $15.50 but was charged $18.50 and I tipped on top of that. Didn't realized until I got a text notification if my cc charge... My fault for not checking first when I was paying but c'mon, why's it even wrong to begin with? How do the employees working at reg not know their item price? I missed the days it use to be around $10.

Why on earth do they not have umbrellas at the tables? No one wants to sit in the blazing sun, or the ones who do are not enjoying the experience 100%. Would it kill you to buy a couple dozen umbrellas or pop up coverings? Because it's killing the business to the trucks. It's not rocket science guys. Jeez! Lobster roll at Lotalobster- Watery, squished in bread.ew

Seating and tables are scarce or non-existent, which makes eating a lot of the foods they sell really challenging. They should bring in more tables.

I have been to this location of Off the Grid several times. On my most recent visit, it seemed there were fewer trucks, and parking was easier than the other times I had been here. There were enough choices to make it an interesting stop. I am sure the food choices change from week to week. In the past there were places to sit; there did not seem to be any places to sit this time. That is fine for me, my car is comfyOnce a month I meet people for a Bring Your Own Lunch gathering at a parklet off Park Street. I have decided that this is an ideal location, with a variety of choices to pick up lunch before I join my friends.

Having the classic truck gathering Off the Grid on the island is such a pleasant treat. I can remember when food truck groups were more rare and not year round. It's come a long way. I have had the gumbo from the Southern Food truck, and then last time I went I have fried chicken sliders from Curveball. Both delicious, but that gumbo is fire . So tasty, full of flavor, and perfect level of spicy. There are about 8 or 9 trucks there each Sunday, and it seems it's always the same ones. There is a Senor Sisig truck also there. I've eaten at the one in Oakland, but not yet at this location. Their food is also amazing, and has vegetarian options. My only complaint is the lack of tables and seats. Maybe 5 or 6 picnic tables, just a little short of what could be used. Many people end up sitting on the surrounding curbs. With so many finger and hand held food it would be nice to always have access to a table. Overall it's a great place to stop, usually not long lines, and get a variety of food options.

It's been a while since I've popped in to the weekend foodtruck gathering in the parking lot of Alameda's South Shore Center shopping plaza. They usually section off the spot next to the Big 5 Sporting Goods and Petco store. Today there were about 8 trucks providing lobster rolls, philippino food, singaporean, greek, mexican, and chinese fusion. There was also a cupcake/dessert truck too. Prices range from $15 and up (before taxes) per entrees/plates. The lineup of trucks changes from time to time, so it's nice to grab a bite to eat while running errands or going shopping in that plaza. They setup a few picnic tables in the center of the foodtruck circle for patrons to dine. Some people eat in their car parked nearby, or at tables in front of the foodcourt area of that lot (in front of Panera, Chipotle, Five Guys, MOD Pizza.

This was one of the best parts of living in Alameda. I loved coming here weekly with my dogs. They always have a variety of trucks that change every week. It's fun to go with family or friends and split a sushi burrito, California burrito, chicken and waffles, bbq, Korean food, and so much more

Good collection of food trucks. My favorite is Senor Sisig and Southern Comfort Kitchen . There are plenty of street parkings around OMCA . I wish there are more tables but I definitely enjoyed the vibe here.

Great location in the parking lot on the south side of the South Shore Center. There are usually 10-15 food trucks offering various flavorful dishes. There's music coming from the speakers that the staff setup. I wish there were more chairs and tables to sit and enjoy our meal. A majority of the trucks are on the pricey side for the small portions you are given. The staff do their best to keep the area clean and are very courteous. It can get pretty busy here, which had me waiting for my order more than the amount of time that I expected. It is a beautiful site to see the trucks being supported by the city and community. I also wish their hours of operation were longer than 11-3.

Love this off the grid. It is smaller than Off the grid in Presido. They have nice tables with benches to eat the food. But no shades so bring sunglasses and sun hat.

Off the Grid: Alameda at South Shore Center is pretty dope. I've come here for lunch on multiple weekends and haven't had a bad experience here. If I had one criticism to give, it is that there are typically not enough tables to support the lunchtime rush. However, 9 times out of 10, I'm getting a Senor Sisig burrito so getting a seat without a table is all good with me. If anything, there should be some tables at the nearby plaza that are available for use. Speaking of the nearby plaza, this is just another plus of the location of this Off the Grid. Its nice to grab lunch here and then just walk over to the plaza to run some errands, buy groceries, etc. Being located in the plaza parking lot also means that this Off the Grid is nice and spacious with tons of parking.
