I used to really like this spot, but lately they've been dropping the ball with delivery orders. The last few times I've ordered from them they've been missing items in the order, and today with missing items, the food was just not good. The macaroni was bland, the short ribs were dry and hard to eat, and the spam misubi barely had any sauce. They didn't add the sauce that usually comes with the short ribs and they forgot one of the drinks that I ordered.

To be honest, this is my go to one, the one in Oakland does not do a good job.. I would go the extra mile or two and go to alameda! Clean, and friendly

Wasn’t expecting much but wow. I ate like an animal while driving and I came out a gentleman. Got the island fish and bbq chicken combo. The bbq chicken was tender, juicy, grilled to perfection with a crisp and sweet bite. You know when something isn’t bursting with different flavors but it just focuses on one and it does it well? They somehow managed to focus on the one satisfying flavor you want in a piece of bbq chicken. Then the island fish, crispy fried but not heavy, tender and succulent, it was as if it was marinated in a flavorful broth before frying it. With other Hawaiian places, it’s too much of this or too much of that or not enough but here it’s different. The flavors are on point and the island fish flavor stays with me. I’m still thinking about it like how is it that good? The Mac salad was extremely fresh, there’s even an Al dente bite to the mac. The rice had a very subtle hint of seaweed flavor. Made me feel like I was on the beach eating this meal. Now I really want to go back and order the same things again. I have to since it’s all gone and I don’t have any pics. This was right when they opened around 11 am on Thursday, service was great as well. And environment is really warm and friendly. I’m coming back cuz it hit a lot of spots that I can’t even explain:)Edit: the island fish wasn’t good. It was incredible. The flavor is still in my mind I still don’t know how they did it. I’m thinking of all the fried fish I’ve had this was the best. It’s crazy I know but I would go back there again and again for the fish because it had such a unique and hearty brothy flavor ???

This is my favorite Hawaiian barbecue in the Bay Area. It's a chain yes, but it's consistent, the ingredients are simple and fresh. I'm a creature of habits so I always get the number one, the Hawaiian BBQ chicken with rice and macaroni salad.

Great food. Awesome place they are friendly and have great service be a little patient though bc it is not fast food but is always worth the time it takes also I usually make big orders when I go so that may be why it takes a little while for me. I love they have everything you expect from a luau

I ordered grilled chicken with rice and the chicken was undercooked!!! Just disgusting. When I first walked in, I was not greeted. The service is horrible and I had to ask them to remake my food ?…. NEVER COMING HEREAGAIN. The one on fruitvale is way better.
Ordered from them for the time. However, the lady I talked to while ordering on the phone said they didn't do my dish like how my local ono Hawaiian bbq does it. And the Filipina employee I talked to otp was taking forever to take the order of the customer ahead of me. His ono gift card was "declined". That Filipina employee needs more training and communication skills when working at a restaurant. There's a reason it's called fast food!

Always good food. They give you nice size portions too.
I ordered combo to go.. the boneless chicken was way over cooked and hard. Macaroni salad.. salty.1/2 of the order wasmany layers of CABBAGE, not the soft leaf, but the thick part! WHY??!! WHY??! To hide the fact that the portion of food is actually less..It must be the Alameda location- that cause this order to be Nothing BUT BAD..all BAD!!!This is what happens when you think it's good in every city, BUT it is NOT!!!Plus they charge tax of 10.8%.
