MYLA (aka "MAI TAI") IS AWESOME !!! She always provides outstanding service, with a huge smile and incredible warmth. (In fairness, everyone else that I have ever dealt with here was also great.). In a world full of "gourmet" coffee shops, I still return to Peet's, again and again. They are unparalleled!

Peet's is the best. Starbucks was founded by former Peet's people, they changed the color from brown to green, gave it a meaningless name (peet's is named for the founder, Alfred Peet) and gave the sizes dumb names.

Came by for a really quick energy boost about 30 min before closing and opted for a espresso. This Peet's location was clean during my visit and staff was friendly. Even half an hour before closing, there were still about5 customers inside working so it shows to be a solid workspace. My espresso took about 5 min and when it was ready, they announced my drink order so that I knew it was ready and I could pick it up. The flavor was a bit bitter, sharp, but finished smoothly, as would be expected. Solid espresso in a popular coffee shop.

ACTUALLY compostable lids! Perhaps this is more a message to corporate or whoever decided to switch from plastic lids to compostable. Thank you. You are beautiful, and we appreciate you! The young Barista told me, "Yes they are compostable, but they do not last that long". Neither does coffee! Lol. A temporary solution for a temporary problem. Now that is thinking. Thank you! Delicious espresso by the way.

Best Peet's Ever!!!!! Love Peet's over Starbuck's. Quality over Quantity. Very helpful and swift lady cashiers and super friendly. Clean space and ambiance feels like a posh cafe in downtown Alameda. Love the coffee-themed Interior Design and ample space to wait for our orders. Haappyyy Holidays!!

I stopped in to order a caramel macchiato coffee,All was well the coffee was great had lots of flavor and not as much sugar and Starbucks has.Although I like Starbucks at times, they use an awful lot of sugar.

I am a devoted "Peetnik" of over 30 years, having grown up in Berkeley with the original stores and it is absolutely the best coffee around, bar none. I am almost always very happy with the quality and service at this store. The employees are usually very friendly and efficient. One star off because I wish they had more organic coffee options, especially "on tap." Coffee is one of the crops most heavily sprayed with toxic pesticides, so I have a recurring coffee beans delivery subscription on the Peet's website for my favorite, Organic French Roast. I have tried the Gaia Organic roast, and found it undrinkable... Another thing I love at this store (and the Webster store) are the warm breakfast sandwiches. My favorite is the Egg and Cheese.

This is about my experience on Thursday, August 17th 2023 around 9:30AM. TLDR: my double shot iced espresso extra ice tasted burnt like usual. It tasted very rushed if that’s a tasting possibility and I was the only person in store ordering. This is just my first time writing a review about it since this seems to be the only location that has this problem no matter what drink or how I order it. I prefer a different location. There is also no parking because of location. Explanation below.I didn’t think I enjoyed Peet’s coffee/espresso until I began branching out and trying other locations. That being said, this location is my least favorite around Alameda. I’m actually a big fan of their espresso and my drink order is pretty basic which in turn I guess makes it a little easier to mess up on taste. I get a double shot of iced espresso with extra ice. No sweetener and I add my own half and half at the self service station because I don’t like it as milky as a latte, but don’t like it black. I enjoy the taste of espresso, (especially Peet’s in comparison to the blends they have available at the green mermaid across the street), but something about this location just never make the drinks taste the same! The espresso is ALWAYS burnt and acidic tasting. In high school, I thought it was just my ‘simple, inexperienced, young’ taste buds rejecting the espresso taste. After high school my first job was a barista. I learned how to pull shots and instantly could tell the difference. I tried Peet’s again in SF since it was the closest coffee with mobile ordering on the way to work that wasn’t SBUX. It was a world of difference out there I couldn’t believe it was the same chain! The Peet’s with the drive thru across town is the best one in Alameda IMO. They take a while, but the quality of the drinks makes it more worth the wait. Same goes for the one inside Nob Hill, they’re fine.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian food options and vegan milk alternativesKid-friendliness: Family friendly environmentParking: Parking lots from multiple angles and parking garage down the street, but some parking lots and street parking are metered. Free parking is hard to find all hours of the dayWheelchair accessibility: No stairsDietary restrictions: Milk alternatives and clearly labeled allergies
