Pâtisseries are great, but 4th time I take a detour to stop there and 4th time you’re sold out before 10. Unfortunately I won’t try anymore… ?

Lovely people with great parties. Enough nice things have been said about their almond croissant. I think their egg custard was super on point as well—perfectly crispy on the outside with soft and creamy filling. I might have also tasted a hint of lemon/citrus for some extra refreshing flavor, which was quite unique. Always a treat worth getting up early for when I’m in Berkeley!

Simply best almond croissant I’ve ever had. Better than the ones I tried while in Paris.

The croissants are the best!!!! you've never really had a croissant until you have come here, unless you've been in France. The plain croissant you can never go wrong. The chocolate was excellent and the almond as well. I also also liked the lemon poundcake and the chocolate dessert in the cup (I cannot remember the name)

This is small little bakery located in between el cerrito and Albany area. It opens pretty early and closes pretty early too. We had the pleasure to stop by here while visiting family in this area. The bakery items are made with great quality and texture is really, it is a tad bit on the sweeter side, would be nice if that toned down a bit but other than the flavors are delightful. First time I had the Portuguese tart with a coconut flavor to it, so it was refreshing and surprising. The almond croissant taste better imo than the chocolate one. The chocolate one needs a little bit more chocolate in it hit the flavor again is really good.Definitely worth a stop if you in the area

Authentic French pastries made fresh daily at an adorable little pâtisserie in Berkeley/Albany @patisserierotha 10/10This is a tiny bakery and only has room enough inside for one or two customers at a time. The crunch on the shell of that buttery soft croissant- uhhh! Get here early and wait in line for all of your classic favorites! We ordered:- pain au chocolat - croissant au beurre- croissant aux amandes- canelé- pastel de nata- meringues à l'orange

One of the most delicious croissants I've ever had in my life! It's kind of sucks that they only open like 3:00 or 4 days a week, and only in the morning, but I think if you're in the area and willing to wake up early, it's worth it. Especially if you eat it right away cuz it tastes so butterly and good. You can also really enjoy the desserts as well like the Almond croissant or canals. You have more section if you come first thing in the morning, but they pretty much have a good amount of croissants throughout the opening hours. I don't know why I didn't come here as often when I went to school back in berkeley. Parking is kind of hard since you have to do it on the street. Other than that if you have anything to do in the area, there are some grocery stores and you can also visit the Berkeley campus.

This place is spectacular. Exactly the right experience, from start to finish. Pastries are perfect and done exactly right in the true French style. Only wish they were open on more days, but can't really fault them the days off. Fab spot. Delish!

Best pastries in the Bay Area, hands-down. Flaky croissants like they do them in Europe. Portuguese egg tarts are my favorite.

Hands down Patisserie Rotha provides the best croissants in the area, and I dare say better than most croissants you get in Paris. There is almost always a line before they open, sometimes halfway down the block. Half the time I practice my French with the (French) owner. Always friendly. When I’m in Berkeley, I usually come once a week. Love this place.

TOP NOTCHPhenomenal bakery with super authentic pastries and baked goods. Quite unassuming store on the outside, no seating available. Very efficient bakery storefront. Do not miss out on Pastel de Natas, Croissants, kouign-amann, and canele. They aren't super affordable, but they are definitely the most delicious, so if you have time at the end of the week, definitely try to stop by early when they open so you wont be left with just the last bakery items left, they definitely run out close to closing time!
