I went recently. However, the ownership & menu changed. No more alcohol. :( I wish the new owner good luck, but I think she may have to bring back some of the old options in cuisine so she does not lose the old clientele. Just a suggestion.

After 45 years in business, Caramba Mexican Restaurant has permanently closed their doors and the restaurant is no more. I have a lot of fond memories with friends at this place over the years, and I'm going to miss good ole #33, the Burrito Special.

This is a cute little place but the food is just mediocre. They don't even have spicy salsa. I ordered a Margarita once and it was truly disgusting! I've gone here for what I call emergency Mexican Food. It's when you're craving Mexican food but don't want fast food and would like to go out to eat. Don't get me wrong the food is not bad but it's nothing special either. The place could use a little make over as well.

0 stars if I could. Cold, gross, BLAND. I could deal with Caramba making us use to go forks and containers during Covid and even long thereafter. But cold food? Horrible service. My daughters tacos had to be sent back. My taco sure didn't taste like anything special. Didn't they used to do ground beef tacos here or am I imagining that? The salsa was nasty. The chips were like twice fried or something. So sad because the margs used to be good and the food was great. Ay Caramba!!!

What has happened here?! Dinner two nights ago. First off, the table salsa was tasteless. Asked for their hotter salsa, server seemed very puzzled when asked for it. She said they don't have anything hotter???!!! Well, they used to!!! And it was VERY good! The chips are different also. No bueño. Our food was COLD! Rice was gritty! All of it very very bland and without the signature salsa, there was no way to spice it up. Caramba was our quick and convenient place for Mexican food. NO longer. No need to come back here.

Great romantic dinner. Wife and I love coming here for Mexican food. Great drinks, bartender is friendly and makes great drinks. Try the Mexican candy drink. Man is it tasty if you like Mexican spicy candy. Definitely recommend it.
This is our go-to place for a weekend meal! Great drinks! Classic old-school Mexican food neighborhood restaurant. Super nice employees.

Amazing ambiance - it's dark and old school. Service is fantastic. Food is solid. It's not super unique or out of the world, just solid, and I find it just the tad bit on the side of salty. The margaritas are great. I got the chili rellano the first time I was there - it was buried under cheese - and huevos rancheros the second time - wrap those in corn tortilla, sprinkle it with their salsa, and it's delicious.

Ambience was great ? Food came out within 5 minutes from ordering. My guess is they prepare it before hand & reheat it So they disguise the mediocre food with a lot of cheese. I couldn’t tell the difference from the chile relleno & the enchilada. It all tasted the same. Aside from the quick reheated food delivery, service was slow. Prices were ok.

Still the reliable old standby for Mexican Food in Alhambra. The service was great, and Sammy the bartender! Sammy makes a dangerous Cadillac Margarita, so drink with caution! Sammy is the best! Overall, still the best Mexican Restaurant in the area!
