o2.o2.2o21 Is this place really closed? If so, that's such a pity. The food were really good! I ordered the savory tofu soup, beef rolls, and buns. A week after I went back to get the beef noodles. They packed it very nicely and it came with a lot of noodles. The soup was too salty but we just simply add some hot water to even out the flavor and it was perfect. I am actually thinking about their food right now writing this review. :(

TL;DR: 5 stars for food, 4 stars for slower service. I was excited to try this place after seeing the reviews here and called in for a take-out order. The lady answering the phone was pretty nice and quoted me a 20 minute wait time, but the food ended up taking more than 40 minutes, with a couple of my dishes becoming lukewarm by the time I ate it since it was sitting on the counter for more than 15 minutes before the rest of my order was finished. We ordered the Cucumber Salad, Original Pork Bao, Beef Pancake, Beef Roll, and House Special Beef Noodle Soup. They all wear masks and follow COVID regulations. Cucumber Salad Served with garlic and a sesame sauce. Pretty refreshing and the sesame sauce wasn't too heavy. Original Pork Bao This was sort of like a cross between a Juicy Pork Dumpling and a Pork Bao. Unfortunately this was one of the dishes that were left sitting on the counter and got a little cold, but I still enjoyed it flavor wise. I pan-fried the leftovers the morning and they turned out great. Beef Pancake Bigger than the ones from Beijing Pie House, I enjoyed the filling from this place better, but the crust was a bit too thick for my liking. Beef Roll One of the best beef rolls I've had in the area, don't neglect this one, especially if you're a cilantro lover like me. House Special Beef Noodle Soup The second victim of my "sat on the counter for too long" experience so I had to reheat before eating. Overall pretty good, but the soup was missing that a kick of spiciness. The beef was tender though and the noodles did not disappoint.

Food was really great tasting. Everything was fresh, made to order, and the amount of food you get for very little price. A must try in Alhambra.

Super small place that's pretty authentic as far as I can tell. I have no idea what I ordered but I believe the beef noodle soup had the Szechuan numbing spice. Their bao mans dumplings were delicious and overall I was impressed with the food, portion, and price. Note that ordering online everything is like 50 cents more expensive. It's not much but if you're ordering 10 small dishes it adds up and feels worse than it actually is. They were slow but I'd chalk it up to being surprisingly popular despite how small/few workers there are.

I came back and ordered their beef wraps, cucumber salad, and mixed lamb noodle soups. I highly recommend their beef wraps because their wraps are crunchy & flavorful. I would say they have THE BEST beef wrap in SGV. Ordering from them is easy. You can order through phone, walk in, or through Delivery apps. I called them to place my orders, they gave me a pick up time, & my food were ready by the time I got there. They gave out a free coke when you check in on Yelp (it was Congee before). They also have free candies up for grabs.

Everything is just decent there. But it doesn't matter. Cuz their beef roll is soooo deeeeelicious! One of the best renditions I've had in SGV. Must be eaten fresh/hot though to retain the crispiness. We got take out and devoured it in the car. The pancake wrapping is both flaky and crispy, and the beef is moist and tender. Wayyyy better than places like Joy or 101 noodle. A little oily but oh so good.

Tianjin Feng Wei's baos are full of flavor and packed with ingredients. I highly recommend ordering the Pork and Shrimp Bao ($8.50) because the flavors go so well together and there are bits of egg and woodear fungus that amps up the flavor of the entire bao. Keep in mind that the style of their baos has a chewy exterior and not your typical pan fried/steamed doughy buns. I love the slightly chewy texture of the bao skin and it's the perfect thickness to keep the juices from leaking, but not too much dough. They don't skimp on the filling! Remember to call ahead to order because they make their baos and scallion pancakes to order. Get the cucumber side dish, it's garlicky with a savory vinegar taste. You get a generous amount for $3.49. Scallion Pancake Beef Roll is also worth trying. At $6.50, you get four big pieces that come in the most crispy pancake ever! The filling was decent, but I love the pancake wrap on this one! Tofu Soup is such a good one to get. To me, it's more like a huge block of tofu with gravy. The soup is thick like gravy and has mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and woodear fungus. This is comfort food and for $3, it was a steal considering how big the portion was. This is a solid place with good eats and great prices. I highly recommend!

Heard about Tianjin Feng Wei after seeing its beef pancakes featured on a food list so had to come by and try. And they were pretty delightful, especially when you eat them fresh out. You get a nice crispy crunch from the pancake on the outside while the inside is packed with juicy hot meat that was flavored decently. It almost felt like I was eating a burger of sorts made with a pancake encasing. 4 for about $12 so not a bad deal at all. Will have to come by at some point to try their other items. Street parking available.

On a Tuesday afternoon in December, I decided to check out this place for lunch. It is located next to budget rental car and close to Pepe's. I ordered online via grubhub and did a pick up at 11:30am. I ordered house special beef noodle soup and the portion was big. First, I took a sip of The broth which was delicious. Second, I took a bite of the noodles which was firm not soggy. Third, the slices of beef was tender had too much 5 spice seasoning. Lastly, lots of cilantro and green onions was good too. My other dish was pork leek dumplings was delicious and not soggy. It was full of flavor and the best out of my lunch. Next time, I would get the dumplings again. 3 stars for too much 5 spice. 4 stars on the broth, abundance of noodles, and dumplings was delicious

We had family over so we actually ordered a variety of stuff plus buns here. Some were really good and some lacked a tad and hence minus the 1 star. We got green onion/pork - which was good. The beef baos - lacked a bit and did kind of reminds me of hamburger meat and the onions also chopped a bit too big. I think it would be better more minced up into the meat. The tofu with gravy reminds me of the taiwanese version but different in flavor. Very flavorful and yummy! Beef noodle soup - the beef was very tender!! Soup on the other hand depends on your taste. This version is more northern chinese with a mala (numbing spice) plus broth was also lighter compared to the taiwanese version version thats usually more concentrated and beefier (if there is such a word, hehe) The Baos, i do have to say were a bit soggy but i will give the benefit of doubt its due to pandemic and not eaten immediately at the restaurant and was brought home which also took awhile. We were all too hungry and inhaled the food before I got to take pictures. So I guess I will be back for the photos! ;)

Anyone who writes a negative review of Tianjin Feng Wei does not have good taste and probably also write reviews of Costco Car Washes. I have lived in LA my entire life, eating my way through Jonathan Gold magazines and know the ins and outs of Monterrey Park. This place is the real deal. Nestled in what appears to be a small, old la office building across from Sam Woo on Valley Blvd, this place offers the most authentic and fresh chinese comfort foods one would want. The buns are freshly made and not frozen (yes, there was an extra wait as they had to make more, but you know that they are not cutting corners) and the beef rolls are the best I've had in LA if not in Taiwan and in China. They are freshly prepared and you can taste the homegoodness in each bite. The tofu soup is a bit heavy as is all these items, but if you did not come here to have a food coma, then please take your fake, pretentious, gluten free lifestyle elsewhere (Tender Greens).

We've done take out for this place twice and the food is pretty good. There were a couple of misses but overall, not bad -- the rating can be justified. Lol. Tofu Soup (5/5) - This thing is a huge portion. It's a starchy thick-ish goopy soup. I know it doesn't sound like the most appetizing description but it's amazing and can be lathered over rice. Lamb Haslet Soup (5/5) - No gammy taste. This soup warmed me right up! Broth was cooked really well and there were nice variety chunks of the lamb. I believe there were lamb tripes in the soup, so if you're not into that -- beware -- but I still say even if you're not into the tripe stuff, just drink the soup, it's good. Beef Pancake (5/5) - Love it. This thing was packed with meat, juices and flavor. The outside isn't extremely thick and it had a slight crunch to the bite. Try not to leave this for last to eat though because it might get slightly soggy since the meat is hefty and there's so much juice inside. Pork Bao Zi (4/5) - Pretty good. Just wished it was hot when I ate this. This was probably warm by the time I ate it but flavor isn't bad. It's definitely closer to a "bao"/bun with a thicker exterior than soup dumplings. Don't confuse the two otherwise you'll be in for disappointment! Pork with Shrimp Bao Zi (4/5) - The shrimp one recommended on the menu definitely tastes better than the pork version only. But this one was just cold when we ate it. Still not bad, but I wished it was hot or at least warm when we ate this one. Flavor is still really good but I think this bao is missing some ginger slices. It would pair well with the vinegar and soy sauce. Shredded Potato Salad (4/5) - This one was hit or miss. When we ordered this the second time, I think they forgot the salt or just forgot to mix it. It seemed really plain the second time round but the first time I had it, it was a chill fresh dish that seemed well balanced. Beef Shank (4/5) - The side dish was made really well. I don't have much to comment. It's not exactly my type of dish but it definitely goes well with the shredded potato salad. Scallion Pancake (3/5) - This one is okay. I've definitely had better but this dish is a bit tricky when ordered as take-out. It might taste good instore but at the same time, nothing really stands out if it's not crispy. So, I'm iffy on this rating and I think I'd only stick to take-out for this place even post-COVID conditions. The shop is really small so it might fit maybe 4 tables of 2 people or maybe a 3 tables of 4? Point is, it's a small shop. Cucumber Salad (3/5) - Only ordered it once and I thought it was kind of bland. They chopped it a little strange in my opinion but otherwise, still okay. They have this little container of sauce inside the order -- it needs to be added or else it's bland (to me at least, the others seemed to like it more than me). The prices are pretty good for the portion. I haven't actually tasted anything bad here. Remember -- Tofu Soup = must try!!!! Unless you're against everything I explained in the description. Another plus -- they take credit card!! :)

Service: great. I called and had questions about food items and the girl who helped me was very courtesous. She answered all my questions. The person taking order was wearing her mask. Wait was 15 mins for my order. Food: pork n chives dumpling was tasty. 10 for $6.25. The noodles w gravy sauce had no taste. The gravy had a few mushroom n scramble eggs.. $5.50. I would go back again to try the pancake and baos. Only negative was I saw the kitchen staff which was just one guy was not wearing a mask. This place has hand sanitizer available for customers.
