If you Love German food this is the place to go. Unfortunately they no longer take reservations during Oktoberfest and not sure if they still let you in for free if you eat there but last year they did.

Good Old Fashioned German Food. Potato Pancakes are amazing.

According to my German friend, this place is authentic! In Germany, they really do have old people hanging around, and the restaurant really does look like it hasn't been remodeled in over 30 years..lol...well..if a piece of Old World Germany is what you seek, this is what you'll get here! He was super excited when he found that they had Spaten. And the roulade reminded him of home...a Weinershnitzel is not what you think it is..it's actually a breaded pan fried pork chop.. :)

What a lovely place, It has a warm atmosphere, fireplace in the restaurant and really good food. It is not just for members. I wish it was open more often. Try the Bierstube with the freshest German beer in town.

I recently celebrated my 30th birthday dinner here with some friends and I was not disappointed. The staff is friendly and the crowd is definitely an older bunch, but I didn't want anything too wild and crazy, so it worked out just fine. Don't be afraid to ask for suggestions or recommendations. When we arrived, they had our table ready and our server was prompt to take our drink orders. Being at a German restaurant, I went with the Spaten Lager, a delicious light beer in a super tall glass. Before I knew it, I was on my second and chatty as ever. I was surprised to see on the check that each beer was only about $6. What a steal! It prompted me to drink more. For dinner, I went with the Deutsch Wurst Plate which gives you the option of two different sausages. I went with the Knockwurst and the bratwurst. For my side, I chose the German spatzel. Everything was delicious, though on my next visit, I am going to order what Jaime P. got, which was the smoked bratwurst. It reminded me of a Nuremberg sausage from Germany! I will definitely be back to try some of their German specialties. A few of my friends ordered a Rueben and some order the Fish and Chips special. Both looked great! I will definitely be ordering one of those upon my next visit.

I recently worked with the staff at The Phoenix Club to put on an event for my (German) company and we ended up going with a cocktail social at the Loreley Restaurant. I worked mostly with Sigrid Kunkel and she was attentive, hands-on, and very helpful. The staff - Jocelyn and Alisha (sorry, ladies, if I've misspelled your names!) - who worked the event were absolutely fabulous. We couldn't have asked for better service. The food was delicious and the pitchers of German beer were, more than likely, the highlight of the evening. It was a great event and we, along with our guests, were incredibly pleased with everything!

AWFUL! Food was huge disappointment. However, service was prompt, friendly and attentive.

German dinner number 2! I admit I was a bit put off when we first looked at the menu and saw appetizers like Jalapeno Poppers, Nachos, and Chicken Strips. Their menu also offers such German delights as Western Bacon Burgers, French Dip, and Grilled Chicken Sandwiches. So authentic! We decided to stick to German food. For appetizers we again ordered the Curry Wurst (not on the menu) and the Potato Pancakes with applesauce. I preferred the Curry Wurst at Jagerhaus. The one we had last night was a Knockwurst with a darker sauce that actually had curry in it. It was good, I just liked it the other way better. The Potato Pancakes were delish. I am not a fan of applesauce, so I took that off. The pancake was crisp and light and great. Loved these. For dinner I ordered the Chicken and Spaetzle with dijon cream sauce. This was great! The Spaetzle at Lorelei was much lighter than at Jagerhaus and I enjoyed it much more. This was also served with some broccoli and cauliflower. I would definitely order this again. My dad had the Schweineschnitzel, breaded and fried pork cutlet. I didn't try it, he did like it. For sides he got the red cabbage and the German Potato Salad. The red cabbage was warm and had cinnamon in it. Different than anything I have ever had, it was good though. In my opinion, the German Potato Salad was also better here than at Jagerhaus, it was served cold and I enjoyed it much more than the hot potato salad. My boyfriend ordered the Strassburger Wurstsalat, which was described as sliced veal loaf with cheese, pickles, onions and tomatoes. We were picturing large slices of warm loaf with all of this stuff on the side. Not really! He was served this massive salad like thing, with tiny cold pieces of what looked like bologna, cheese, pickles, etc... It was surprisingly VERY good though! The whole thing tasted like pickles, which I love. I would definitely come here again, and would most likely come here before I would go to Jagerhaus again. They were both good in their own right, but the food just seemed lighter and "healthier" here at Lorelei. I also like the decor and the service better at this restaurant.

I had my wedding at the Phoenix club last October and had a tasting, my rehearsal dinner, and my wedding food catered by the Loreley Restaurant. The tasting was absolutely fantastic. I had expected some small sample sized items to try. In fact, my mom, husband and I ate lunch prior to the tasting anticipating the small portions. I so wish we hadn't! We were blown away to be brought individual full sized servings of several different dishes. Everything was delicious and, being a bit of a food snob, I was very relieved that we had a venue that offered good food. (Outside catering was not an option so I was very worried. I've had so many terrible wedding meals.) The rehearsal dinner was also great. Despite having a very large party (around 25 people), all the food came out great and around the same time. The service was prompt and none of my guests had to worry about having to ask for a drink. Everyone left happy. Finally, I had chosen a buffet style set-up for my wedding, choosing two entrees based on the tasting. There were also a variety of sides, salads, and rolls to accompany the main dishes and while the chicken was not quite as good as it was at the tasting, probably due to being prepared in large quantities and placed in a warming tray, it was still very good. Great place, and I'll be back in the years to come to remember my wonderful wedding day and have some good German food and beer.

We have enjoyed the Loreley Restaurant for many years. We love their food, schweineschnitzel with potato pancakes and red cabbage is our absolute favorite. We enjoy the european atmosphere and good service. We have introduced our friends to the Phoenix Club and we make it a point to go together to their lovely & abundant Sunday Brunch

Love this place! We have been coming here for many years, not only during Oktoberfest. Although attached to The Phoenix Club, this is the sit-down restaurant with the complete German food menu. When we do go to Oktoberfest, this is the first place we stop and eat. The food in the courtyard is great, but this is a meal. Everyone that we bring here falls in love with the decor and food. Loreley is the first place that I had heard about and tried spatzle. I had it a few other places, but this simple side remains a favorite, and this place does it best. Another favorite menu item is the trout almondine. Pan fried trout with slivered almonds and butter sauce, along with spaztle and German libations is a great dinner. The unfortunate part is they are now limited to being open on the weekends. However, the Bierstube in the same building offers other German dishes and the same great selection of German wines, libations and tasty beer. And, Undenberg. Don't forget the Undenberg.

Our favorite German restaurant. We took our stepdaughter and her husband here for a birthday celebration and a good time was had by all. The jaeger schnitzel and spaetzle is awesome, as was the apple strudel for dessert! A very attentive waitress kept our glasses and stomachs full. Well done!

This place was a wonderful surprise. This restaurant is located in the Phoenix Club complex (which also includes a pub and a huge tented area where they hold Oktoberfest). Myself and 3 friends decided a more substantial dinner prior to attending Oktoberfest was in order. When I entered the restaurant the first thing I noticed was the Old World feel with lots of dark wood and a monstrous stone fireplace that takes up half a wall. I also noted that most of the customers looked over 60 and were speaking German. I ordered the sauerbrauten. It came with a green salad which was average but good. The sliced roast beef was so tender you could cut it with a spoon. The gravy was one of the most wonderful taste experiences I ever had. I secretly wanted to order a mug of gravy and sip it for the rest of the evening. The potato pancakes with applesauce were superb. It also came with braised red cabbage. I normally hate cabbage but I gleefully ate every bite of this. Service was at the top of any place I've been. Our waitress was quick, happily accommodated several special requests, and was very sweet. Like your favorite grandmother. She spent time teaching us German words and pronunciations throughout the evening. It's a little pricey but at $20 (not including alcohol) I thought it was fair. Bonus: Our dinner bill served as free admission into Oktoberfest. Cool! I have never been a huge fan of German food but this place really surprised me in a good way.

What a disappointment! We came here to the Loreley Restaurant thinking it was the same as the Phoenix Club, since it's all in the same building, but apparently the Phoenix Club is the big tent outside. The Yelp reviews for the Phoneix Club are glowing, but the Loreley Restaurant is another animal entirely. I ordered sauerbraten with potato pancakes. The sauerbraten arrived overcooked. It was completely devoid of any moistness whatsoever. The potato pancakes were likewise over done, almost to the point of being petrified. The only thing reasonably prepared was the red cabbage. I wanted to try out my almost forgotten conversational Deutsch, but the waiters did not greet us in German, and were too busy conversing with each other in Spanish (one waiter appeared to be teaching a new waiter) during our meal, so I didn't get to see if I could still carry on a conversation auf Deutsch or not. So, fellow German food loving Yelpers: If venturing to the Phoenix Club, my advice is to avoid the "fine dining" restaurant. I just may try the tent next time, since other Yelpers have raved about it, but just be careful you go to the right place when you get there!

I have eaten here a few times , yet its been a while since I've been here. I recall the schnitzels are ok. Huge Octokber fest party each year at the German club adjacent. I need to go back and practice my german.
