Update: The below review was from 4 years ago. I originally gave a 5 star. However, we went yesterday and let me tell you that my review has changed! We did not receive bread at all. We are supposed to get bread, soup or salad with our meals, nope, no bread. I was treated great, the male server brought me a refill without asking for it, but did not acknowledge my husband at all, like he did not exist. So he did not get a refill, not even one. No water at all either. The food was not as good as it used to be, more bland and not worth $21 dollars a plate. I don't know what was in the food but our stomachs today are not letting us out of the little girls and little boys rooms if ya disgustingly catch my drift.I used to love this place, but will never go back to any strings again! It was not just the service but the food, which ruins it for us with all strings. Saddens me to say, another restraunt bites the dust for us. The one in our town already closed, so we drove up to Auburn to this one, BIG MISTAKE! Now we are waiting for this one to eventually close, it may or may not, but serving food that expensive that has a bland flavor, men do not get acknowledged but the female does and "forgetting" bread sticks, may result in an eventual shut down. Maybe an Olive Garden can take its place.Old review from 4 years ago below:Always good food and good service!

I've been going here for years but it seems that they can't make up their mind about their menu. I went on their web site and ordered about $75.00 worth of food. I've been ordering the Cioppino at least once a month on a "to-go" order. Today they decided that it no longer comes with the side salad. In fact the Meat Calzone that I ordered normally came with a side salad or soup but I guess no longer. Not happy!

So so good- but I think I’ve done a review before- but it keeps asking me again.Lasagne pastry the best!My husband lived his chicken Alfredo. The minestrone was delicious as was the salad- much more than just lettuce and a few token veggies- and even the cheesecake was divine.Best of all was our delightful server- what a nice experience. I forget why we haven been here in a long time. (Before this year).

My wife and I had been wanting to try Strings after moving here to Auburn from Southern California. Small restaurant with a pretty nice menu, nice atmosphere, friendly service. We both enjoyed our meal, generous portions, etc. Reasonable prices for a great meal, we will be back.

I recommend Strings Italian Restaurant on Bell Road. The food is excellent and not too expensive. The wait staff is friendly and competent. I am vegetarian and being an Italian Restaurant there are a lot of wonderful pasta dishes- Caprese Lasagna, Cheese, Artichoke or Mushroom Ravioli, Fetticini Milano, Penne De La Casa, Vegetable Pizza etc which are delicious, good for you and have no meat. I would give Strings a 5 star recommendation. I am a local Composer,Jazz Musician.

My husband wanted cioppino for his birthday meal, and strings certainly did not let us down. The freshness of their cioppino seafood, and the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the excellent 101 service is something we’ve all learned to appreciate during Covid and streams was a real surprise for us never realizing how great their cioppino is and their homemade raviolis the prices are outstandingly reasonable and they will even let you bring your own bottle of wine and charger three dollars for crochet. I have to say that in these times of a money crunch, it’s really nice to be able to get call T seafood and fresh grown vegetables to add to the dining experience. I will certainly go back.

I decided to stop by out of convenience but I was shocked how delicious, rich and hearty the pasta dishes were. The service was super friendly and everything came out quickly. Prices are also reasonable. Very tasty Italian American food in an environment that is clean and unpretentious. We'll be back again and again! Fairly inexpensive, pleasant and tasty! It's the holy grail in these inflationary times.

Real bummer. I should have suspected something when the guy with the man bun raced my family and I to get down the stairs, that this wouldn't be a good visit. We got seated, got water and that was the end of it. People that came in after us had their order taken. The gal working was walking around but never asked us if we wanted appetizers, much less our meal. With a family of 5 and everyone hungry and the prices are what they are, we decided to take our business elsewhere. We had heard good things but it's real doubtful we will try that again.
