Good food. Always on time for pickup. Would be nice to eat at restaurant. Portions small for money. Tip is added to bill without warning.

They only offer ToGos. Sashimi dinner combo, scallop carpaccio, soft shell crab, 4 rolls were perfectly placed with care and beautifully presented in each container. All were what we had hoped for and more. I can see why folks drive out of their way to pick up their delicious orders!

Really great and inexpensive takeout sushi run by a kind family. Please support this local business!

This is our favorite sushi place. We get takeout at least once a month. The rolls are amazing, and the chicken teriyaki is divine! Worth every penny!

Sushi chef Heogh is doing BEST with what he loves -- to make beautiful sushi! I've lived on 3 dontinents and Take Maru Sushi in Auburn, California, is well worth the 1/3-hr drive from Nevada City CA. If Heogh's wife was a bit more friendly (aka sour-puss) Take Maru might have MORE customers ... yet seems they have enough! They've been serving Nevada and Sacramento and Lake Tahoe counties for over a decade from their small shopping mall restaurant, right on Hwy 49. XOxo, Heogh and Cindy! Keep it UP -- cheers!

Unfortunately my partner and I both got sick after eating here. Such a bummer - the sushi tasted alright and their prices are reasonable.

Takeout only. This place has clearly been hit hard by the pandemic but the food is still very tasty!

They're only doing take out but hands down the best sushi around and we've tried a lot of places.

I've eaten a lot of Sushi in my life. This place is the absolute best. I've eaten the King Lobster roll four times. I'm having a hard time choosing anything else. I recommend this place to any and everyone. Amazing

Great quality fish. Beautiful presentation. Pleasant service. Priced reasonably (for this quality sushi). And I appreciate that they are still to-go only. We took ours to-go over to Moonraker brewery, 6 minutes away, and sat outside and enjoyed amazing food with a great beer :)

I am disappointed that Yelp is leaving up reviews that have nothing to do with the food or service. This business deserves more respect than that. Thus:This unassuming hole-in-the-wall joint offers some of the best fresh fish and sushi rolls I have had in a very long time, inclusive of travels to NYC, Maui, and travel throughout California. If I had judged it purely by driving past, I would have ignored it for being nearly invisible and buried in the back of a small plaza- so hooray for Yelp and Google for alerting me to its existence. I am not local to that area but I am scheming reasons to go back because the quality is so darn good. Like, really, really good. And incredibly kind and friendly people with respect for allergy considerations as well.We brought our to-go order to a local brewery to eat, and had multiple gawkers lusting after our beautiful selection of food and asking where it came from- they were very excited to know it was so close by!These folks are clearly playing it safe with health protection- whether due to COVID-19 or anything else, they have taken steps to protect their staff and conserve resources including keeping indoor dining closed and asking customers to wait outside for picking up their orders. I don't know what challenges these folks have faced in the last few years or what personal risk they are accounting for, but it's certainly no big deal to me to honor their needs and just wait in my car until they call me for pickup. The food is well worth it, and them taking steps to protect their own health and safety means hopefully they will stick around and remain in business for a good long time! Now I am hungry and want to drive up for lunch. Thanks, Take Maru, and please know you have some new fans out here! YUM.

I love suishi so I decided to try this one. I really wanted to go to Sakura suishi in Auburn but they don't open until 4 pm.This is located in a small plaza with most of the places are out of business. This is the last place to stop on highway 49 as you are heading back to Grass Valley/Nevada City. They only offer food to pick up. I looked inside and the entire dining area is closed off with plastic. It did not look clean inside and so I decided not to order anything.I don't like to give negative reviews but this place was not clean!I would go to a more established place with a high turnover of fresh suishi!
