The food is ok. The service was very poor. The host in particular was unpleasant and weirdly inhospitable. I was a single diner. I waited an unreasonably long time for a seat. There were multiple tablesopen and the ENTIRE bar was empty for my entire wait. The explanation for my wait was, 'we always have a bit of a wait.' The server was nice, but seemed totally overwhelmed. I overheard snippets of the managers being kind of a jerk. The food was passable but not great. I ordered entirely off the appetizer menu. The gumbo had a nice dark roux but it was bland and thin. I did not find a single discernable bit of okra or shrimp, as described on the menu. The crawfish etouffee was the best Cajun food I ate. It wasn't amazing nor authentic--it lacked the saucy soul warming quality--but it had body and was flavorful. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. Great service would have made all the difference but that was not my experience.

Very tasty crawfish étouffée, shrimp creole (both pleasantly but not excessively spicy), and voodoo shrimp (unlike what you might expect from the name, this is savory but not spicy, great for our low-spice companion). Nice service. Laid-back casual atmosphere with live music, but not too loud to talk easily.

What's all the fuss about? The waiter was surly and abrupt. The portions were unequal: one order of ribs was heaping with thick meaty ribs, the other portion with half as much meat, skinny and sparse ribs. The gravy that came with the chicken looked like vomit. The sweet potatoes were much too sweet. The potato salad was drowning in mayonnaise, and pretty much inedible. The place was noisy, and the food was overpriced for what was offered, with a scanty choice of sides. Just because they have food unique to Berkeley doesn't make them a wow! place. I've had much better for much less $$$.

I recently ordered food through Uber Eats app. Due to the location, parking was challenging, and the order took around 30 minutes to be finished. I noticed that half of the order was ready when I went in, but the app showed that the entire order was ready. It would have been better if the app had updated the status of the order accurately.I understand that mistakes can happen, but I was disappointed that the other half of the order took longer to prepare. The food quality was not up to the mark, and some of it was also lukewarm.I would like to suggest that the restaurant consider changing their hours if they cannot accommodate customers if the hours posted is something the cooks do not want to adhere too. It would help in avoiding such situations in the future. Overall, I was not satisfied with my experience, and I hope that the restaurant can improve their services in the future.PS: The mac and cheese was burnt and had a strong smell. I couldn't even eat it.

Food was very tasteless and overpriced . Staff was very friendly and attentive. We were surprised that there was no option to substitute pork from the gumbo, red beans and rice or jambalaya . The gravy that covered the buttermilk fried chicken has pork in it! Overall we spent over $60 for two meals and a side. Definitely will not go back.
