These guys became openly anti-customer through the pandemic, I'll you judge by yourself: 1. closed the back bathroom 2. No water station 3. No bottled water to buy (!) 4. When asking for a cup of water "the city of Berkeley is forcing us to charge for them" (!!!) 5. "Sorry no WiFi" - So don't be fooled, this is not a coffee spot, this is merely an inconvenient seating area for the nearby Berkeley Bowl food counter (which is very good).

Always have excellent meat department! There’s tons of unfriendly people (not staff, just the local unfriendly Berkeley maskers) in the store so don’t expect to make any friends lol ? Just get your stuff and get out! Also always beggars outside asking for handouts.

Berkely Bowl is by far the best place to shop for groceries if you are a more discerning eater. Their meat selection is also one of the best selection around. Go for New Zealand or Wagyu

I like this Berkeley Bowl West, but hate parking in the garage, so I'll come here after 1pm and before 5pm to avoid the crowds. I usually come here for the produce, because it's so cheap. However, sometimes it's really expensive, especially organic food and veggies.

Hands down one of the best markets I've ever been to. As a cook and as a regular, this place never seems to fail at amazing me each time I have walked in and shopped. The food selection is 10/10. Everything you can dream of is in this place. The people are amazing 10/10 the ambiance is 10/10 love the location and what they have to offer. We need one of these in or near Sacramento please! My brother who lives in Berkeley took me here for my first time a few months back and now when I am in town visiting, we are almost there all the time! Thank y'all for doing what y'all do best! Much love please go here

Maybe it was a zoo because we were here after Christmas but before the New Year. The parking lot was a hot mess. The store was jam packed. Or maybe it's just like that all the time! We'd only been to this store once before and it was just as crazy, and we stopped going to the first store for the same reason.

So many great things to browse through but the sea of people is intimidating and overwhelming. Aisles of people pressed against one side trying to stay out of other people's way and I heard the parking garage is bigger at this location but it is still tight. They have a wide selection of produce, dairy, grains, beans, spices, deli, and bakery items. They also have hot entrees and soup. I wish they have a couple more options for the sides for the combo deal because not everyone wants rice. The bakery items I bought on this trip were excellent. Their house egg salad has onions in it and hey, I liked it. They don't have a large section for Asian snacks but surprisingly they have a few Thai Lay's. This truffle one is STRONG.
First time coming here was for their holiday meal kit. I got a traditional turkey dinner that consist of a turkey, Brussels sprouts, butternut squash, mashed potatoes, gravy, dinner rolls, and a pumpkin pie! I was so surprised how easy they packaged everything and everything was super tasty!! There was 4 adults and one child with lots of left overs left! I would recommend to anybody who doesn't wanna slave in the kitchen all morning!! I will be trying their rib roast holiday meal kit for Christmas! Happy holidays!

Just so it is clear:THERE IS NO MORE BERKELEY BOWL CAFE! They still make coffee drinks there plus there are some pastries, like donuts, for sale, but the old (nice) cafe is gone, apparently forever. You can bring in pre-made food from the supermarket, but that's it. And the service, such as it is, is pretty surly. RIP, Berkeley Bowl West Cafe!

GRANOLA. Berkeley Bowl recently changed the packaging on their signature cafe granola, and now we cannot see how it looks inside. No more plastic window. I do NOT PURCHASE granola I cannot see!!!!

We are so lucky in the East Bay to have a grocery store as spectacular as this. It's literally the land of plenty and it's hard to contain myself when I'm Here. I want to buy everything. Best produce EVER

Excellent food, good service and like mind customers but some are weirdos or unfriendly
