Great paninims and service but You used to make the best pizza I've ever had. A young group of men would be in there around 10-11 making pizza for the nearby schools. That's when I remember being able to purchase it there. 2017. Bring these back. I would buy your recipe if I could

A hidden treasure tucked away and set back from the noisy streets of Shattuck and University. Surrounded by beautiful greenery, pleasant music, and sunny spots. Very relaxing. Most importantly, the staff is friendly and professional also, the pizza slices are large and delicious! Did I mention the price?! Very reasonable. You cannot beat this anywhere in the area. Don't forget to check out the fresh baked cookies- mmmmm!

Had some very enjoyable sandwiches there. However, we were a bit confused - they don't seem to actually have Paninis! Nothing on the menu indicated you could grill/toast it, so I'd just call those sandwiches. I recommend sitting outside, because the inside was a bit dingy. Not a great place to go on a rainy day, although there was plenty of inside space.

A true hidden gem, I always come here for lunch atleast twice a week! Amazing quality and quantity for a great price. I love the wide variety of sanwhiches they offer and appreciate how accommodating they can be with my special needs. This is a great place to relax especially in their patio/deck which creates a calming environment. But they also offer indoor seating for those rainy days. Will continue to come for their delicious sandwiches!

The sandwiches are decent, the pizza is okay, really greasy but it's super cheap so it makes up for it. Good for students who want a cheap place to get decent food.

Amazing quality and quantity for a very reasonable price. I have been here often for lunch, to get various sandwiches. Nice place to relax after a long day. Price is amazing for high quality food. Will be back here again.

A little hard to find this gem. One of my few dog friendly patios to have lunch with my dental team. Django having fun too. Food is fantastic.

I almost don't want to write this positive review because I don't want to share one of downtown Berkeley's best kept secrets. This cafe hidden behind Jupiter makes yummy salads and sandwiches. The salad is an incredible deal considering what you got. They also make pizza and have both indoor and outdoor seating. I'm only taking one star off because the decor of the indoor section is a little blah. The staff is efficient. Shhhh. Don't tell anyone about this place.

This place was a god send in terms of lunch options in downtown Berkeley. I go at least once a week and most of the time twice a week. How can that be, you may ask? Sure, Berkeley is filled with restaurants, but Cafe Panini is unquestionably the best value (taking into account price and quality). For under eight dollars, you can get a delicious, hearty panini that is made to order and cooked in their brick oven. I am hooked on their portobello mushroom panini, which also has red peppers and some goat cheese. They have tons of fresh bread choices, and currently I'm going with their baguettes. The place is tucked behind Jupiter's patio/deck, which creates a nice sense of privacy. It has its own indoor and outdoor seating, and a very casual vibe. Unless you hit the Berkeley high school rush, there is normally no line, and the staff are very nice. I still can't believe their prices. Other equivalent sandwiches in the area are far more expensive.

Cafe Panini is to the rear of Juniper. May even be owned by Juniper since Juniper's name appears on the receipt. room is seclueded to the rear. u can also can outside the eatery. offering: hot/cold paninis, salads, smoothies, expresso. eats:Portobello Pannini on whole wheat. (8.95) -strips of portobello surrounded by red peppers, basil, grilled onions, swiss cheese, . -very tasty except for the excess mayo.and bits of porobello mushroom. take outs: -don't expect a bog just a mid size one, good for a snack. -prep time seem leidurely, definitely not fast food.[

I have passed Cafe Panini multiple times while on my way to enjoy Jupiter Pizza. Finally, I decided to give it a try while in the downtown area. Made my way in and was immediately turned off by how run-down the establishment was. There were a swarm of flies inside the restaurant which was a huge turn off; however, I was already there and decided to order regardless. I ended up getting the Cuban Sandwich. Flavors were decent, although it was definitely not the best Cuban that I have ever had. All in all, the food is okay. Cafe Panini has a lot of potential, but the establishment needs a MAJOR face lift! Berkeley has an enormous amount of restaurants that serve sandwiches, salads, and soups, so Cafe Panini really needs to step their game up.

I've never really been a fan of this place: compared to Jupiter's offerings for dinner the sandwiches are pretty underwhelming.
