I had very high expectations from this coffeeshop but I will not recommend it to anyone who likes quality coffee. I ordered an americano which was fine and bought a bag of beans which were terrible. Once i opened the bag i could tell the beans were bad as they were super oily and over roasted. I had purchased a medium roast. Also came across a bag of beans that were roasted back in March and were about to expire. Very disappointed that someone charges $16+ for a Starbucks tasting, grocery shelf coffee that has been sitting there for a while.

Cappuccino was just fine but nothing to write home about, service was prompt. The only gentleman working was able to take orders and make drinks at an impressive rate - he was super nice. The setup is great for COVID because they have a large outside-facing entrance. There's also a few seats out front. On a Monday morning there were only plastic-wrapped pastries. So I'm not sure if the case full of Third Culture mochi muffins that I see in some photos is still a thing. I wouldn't go out of my way to come, but I will come by if convenient!

As I have mentioned on google maps the gold standard of fine coffee is Dunkin' Donuts vanilla flavored coffee. Nothing in the world comes close. Unfortunately Catahoula is not licensed to sell the good stuff. However, they do have a secret weapon and that's Andy. He is so friendly, conscientious and humorous that we still order the second best coffee multiple times a week. I hope they are paying him well because I believe a large portion of sales are driven by people wanting to say hi to Andy. He's a Berkeley treasure and apparently his wife has excellent taste in coffee too.

Amazing staff!!! I screwed up my own order and she remade it for me. Walked me through the difference between what different drinks were. I've tried all their beans and literally the only place I buy my beans from.

This is our neighborhood spot. Andy is super personable. They have great Covid19 protocols and the coffee is almost as tasty as Dunkin’ Donuts;). Patronize them they are awesome.
