Great chicken curry

Stranded, looking for food on Christmas Eve, Delhi Diner Berkeley took us in and fed us right before they closed. Solid Indian street food, my chicken tikka masala slow-burned with a tasty heat. Yummy naan too.

Wish there were a zero star option. First I received food with 3 times the salt in a regular serving, secondly, I’ve been a vegetarian all my life and have managed to eat vegetarian food in all the restaurants around (dine in or order in) I received chicken saag when I ordered saag paneer. Absolutely unacceptable.

While I've liked the Delhi Diner fare from the Solano Avenue spot, this place is a different ballgame: the food was mediocre and looked like it had been sitting around in hot trays for some years. The samosas were clearly refried to reheat them up and arrived in a pool of grease which was pretty disgusting. Seemed overpriced.

I'm glad they opened the Berkeley location also now. Consistent food taste and good variety of dishes is why we keep coming back here

The food was absolutely amazing! It was prepared a little earlier than the Yelp/Grubhub order service was saying so I would suggest coming 5 mins earlier than the anticipated pick-up time. We had all the vegetarian options. I loved how unique their menu was, with a variety of options! We had the following orders:Mixed Vegetables Dosa: The dosa was the right amount of crispy and oh man, the mixed vegetable stuffing was spiced so nicely.Malai Kofta: The curry was so creamy and rich! I was so impressed by the crazy blend of flavors. The Kofta was, to quote my Indian boyfriend, yummy in his tummy. Samosa Chaat: Delicious and refreshing appetizer. It was a little tangy, salty, and a good starter since it wasn't too heavy. It also came with aachar (pickled mixed vegetables) and coconut chutney both of which were complementary to the meal. Overall, a VERY delicious meal and my only criticism would be that, it's a bit pricey. But worth every penny.

I have ordered chili chicken with medium spicy but they send me chili chicken with so much spicy therefore I am suffering for stomach pain. I had complain to Uber Eats but didn't get positive response. It's worst experience with Uber eats and Delhi Diner Berkeley. #ubereats #delhidinerberkeley

Great Indian food!

Best Indian food in Berkeley!!! New restaurant in neighborhood. Delicious authentic Indian taste. Can’t beat the price $10-12: they serve huge portions of two curries, rice and soft naan!!! Complete lunch! I love their chicken curry. Fresh food with lots of other street food variety. Also, their staff is very nice and friendly.

We get delivery from here and the food is ALWAYS super delicious!!! Flavorful, spicy, all the good stuff. I haven't been to the restaurant itself but based on the food, when it's safe again to go places, I will be there!!

I'm a fan. The food here is some of the better Indian food I've had in Berkeley and especially south-central Berkeley; a great add to the dining scene. However, it isn't cheap, especially being right on Telegraph Ave and you're expecting some college priced fare. However, the quality is there and that sometimes is the price one pays .Recently, we ordered take out: lamb kofta curry, veggie dosa & 2 orders of naan. The lamb both in the kofta form and naan form were the best part of the meals. The lamb kofta (meatballs) were so tender, juicy and bursting with flavor. However there were 4 and it was $17 and no rice was included. YOWZA. A ton of creamy sauce, but again, $17 is a lot of dough for no rice/naan and 4 meatballs. The $15 veggie dosa was large and thick and really well prepared, however it was ultimately lacking a rich flavor (other than fresh, which is ultimately very important) (and the accompanied dipping sauces helped), but yet again, that's a ton of money for a "street food" with no protein.Ultimately, the meal was delicious and very well cooked; and I'd order Indian here again. However, for takeout it was expensive and next time, I'll think about how to better maximize my eats

I went here last week and ordered a chicken plate. The plate came with rice and naan bread. However, I did not expect that 2/3rds of the plate was rice. Also, I only received THREE pieces of chicken for my plate. The chicken pieces were tiny. Sure it was tasty, but I did not pay $12+ to eat a plate full of rice. Save your money and go elsewhere as this establishment is cheap and tries to swindle it's customers through tiny protein portions and an insane amount of rice.
