Freight and Salvage is small enough that there are no bad seats and large enough to attract some great performers. I have seen several shows, for some I needed earplugs and others were perfect for me. I suspect that the artist has control over the volume. Being a nonprofit allows them to book a variety of artists that you will not see at other places. We were on the guestlist for the last two shows we saw here, so I can't really comment on the ticket prices. In the past full review

Best kept secret in Berkeley! Recently found this venue and saw Gretchen Peters and David Bromberg... all I can say is amazing! Very intimate, not a bad seat in the house, new food options, beer and wine, and run by wonderful people. Can't wait to go back!

I've always loved this place. I have seen several concerts here. Love the casual, easy feeling and the openness of this place. My first concert was Kim Nalley singing Ms. Nina Simone, Talk About Perfection! My next concert was Kim Nalley doing Aretha Franklin (I see a pattern here) again another amazing night. The only set back is people come in and save 10 seats for their friends, not fair!
