I never leave reviews. But I have consistently gone to Little Hunan for over 15 years. It is the best cheap chinese food in Berkeley. Love it for what it is - a greasy delightful hole in the wall with friendly service and unbeatable prices. Cash only!

I work on campus and I've come to love this place for the combo chow mein. I lovingly refer to it as the best greasy noodle place in the bay. Don't come here expecting fancy cuisine and you won't be disappointed. It's just good americanized Chinese food. The owner is really nice. They're a mom and pop place that's been around for 30+ years. Worth supporting IMHO!

Yesterday was our first time in this good restaurant. But It is no doubt not the last time. We had great time with the efficient service, with the magnificent food and fine drinks and with the honest cost. We will no doubt return there in a short time.

This place is fantastic! Convenient prices, considerable portions and the employees are regularly nice.

Amazing, on point food at an affordable price. The spicy fish is definitely unique and accompanies the rice really well

It's funny, it's been five years since I've eaten at Little Hunan, but somehow I still remember it. This was my first and only time in Berkeley, so when I think of Berkeley, I think of Little Hunan. Two-stars is a fair summation of my experience. I understand that this is a "Mom and Pop" shop, and I don't mean to disparage anyone's business; I'm just sharing this experience so others may make informed decisions. I remember two things the best: a.) The owner coming over to our table, and proudly letting us know that his restaurant is the best/one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. And then: b.) Us ordering a shrimp and celery dish for around $11, and that dish only having 6 pieces of shrimp, a lot of thickly cut pieces of celery, and covered in a cheap curry sauce.

The handmade noodles are amazing. Nothing else matters. Be prepared for a line - it is worth the wait.

As a Chinese, I think it's fair to say it is not bad! Highly recommend spicy fish soup! It makes me feel back to China. Also, there's another China restaurant named Chengdu style that is more likely for me to recommend! You guys can google it!

I have not had such a disappointing meal in a long time. Before I ordered, I thought for about 4 minutes whether I should get the chicken or beef. That was a longer period of time than it took for my food to come out. And my thinking didn't matter anyway, because the "meat" was like eating saltine crackers covered in a sweet thick broth. I ate one bite of the beef, gagged, ate some rice to cleanse my palette, and tried the beef again. It was somehow worse the second time. I finished the rice and the two small, sad pieces of broccoli and left the restaurant quickly too ashamed to look at the chef.

Little mom and pop shop run by really kind owners in an incredibly convenient location. The food is great, is has that small home-ey vibe. Great prices, great people, great food.

i've basically lived across from this little chinese restaurant for a year now and it has become the first chinese cuisine in the east bay i've come to enjoy. the food is wholesome/comforting and the couple who owns the restaurant is chill. the vibes are very casual 80s chinese home-like.

Beef and broccoli dinner meal was pretty good. Portions seemed small at first but filled me up quite quick. Small mom and pop shop with reasonable prices 👍

This shop has a long history. It is not authentic Chinese food though, either from the mainland or Hong Kong. But they cook the food fresh for you, and have some good deals. You can get a small plate with rice for about $7. They charge you 10% on the bill, so there is no need for tips. Minus one star because they only accept cash.
