Got the beef tendon noodles, chives, potatoes, and cucumber salad. The noodles, watery broth, and beef tendon had 0 flavor. Had to add copious amounts of chili oil for it to be remotely palatable. Chives were pretty good but relatively small portions. Potatoes were disgusting, just tasted like rancid oil. Cucumber salad was okay at best. Overall very disappointing.

So tasty! We are vegetarian and they were careful to explain and adapt the menu for us. Different than typical Chinese dishes and all are delicious.

I’ve come to Nash Cafe three times and received good service and my request for non spiciness always fulfilled. But my most recent visit, a day ago, was the most awful restaurant experience I’ve had. I continuously asked for the skewers and dishes to be non-spicy, and the spicy powder was dusted so heavily that I choked. I ordered a pork tenderloin rice dish, and even my friends who enjoy spice started TEARING UP from how dangerously spicy it was. When I gave the waitress my concerns, she told me that there were “no excuses” and that there was spice in every dish, while she had not given ANY warning that it was going to contain spice when I ordered nor when I had repeatedly conveyed that the dishes were not to be spicy. Point is, the spice was not even MILD, it was horrendously spicy to the point that I could hardly eat anything. Most importantly, my table did not receive food until an HOUR had passed, and still, there was an order that was lost. Two waitresses had confirmed our order. After the whole ordeal, the employee courteously BLAMED us for not clearly articulating what we wanted.I am disappointed, especially after the great service and dishes of the past. Regarding this restaurant, I would like to simply advise those who can’t handle spice to be cautious.

Found this place my accident and it has become one of my favourite place to come to. Its open late and its a lowkey vibe to it.The food is really good. They have a variety of grilled skewers and noodle and rice dishesI love the pork belly and button mushroom skewer and the minced pork noodle highly recommend

Food was fine, although nothing special. The main problem is that service was basically nonexistent, where you have to seat yourself, grab the menu yourself, flag down the one waitress, and then walk up to the counter to check yourself out. The waitress will just look at you while you do all that. That's all fine if this were an order at the counter spot, but it's clearly not, and they ask for tip in the same way that a sit down restaurant would. The audacity.

Always a looooong wait. And they NEVER, EVER seem to be in a hurry. Thumbs down.

Came here w/ my sister for a late dinner on a weekday around 11pm. It was our first time coming here and we were craving Chinese! The service was great and loved how sweet the ladies working there were. It's a definitely a smaller restaurant so super cute and cozy.Enoki mushrooms - we love enoki mushrooms so definitely loved this dish! It had garlic butter on top and was chewy / crispy.Wonton soup - so warm and comforting. C2 - pretty decent dish but was kind of missing something. Felt like it needed more flavor or spice! Loved the veggies in the dish and thought it rlly added to the texture.

my favorite late night spot in Berkeley, period. The food is cheap but the food is so homemade and quality. Have come here with a group of friends and my partner to casually dine and have always had a good time. The owners and servers are really sweet and service is always good. I'd recommend their beef noodle soup (4.5/5) and chinese skewers (5/5). They are heavy handed with spice so unless you're really good with spicy, I'd recommend for mild or no spice. Parking is though in the afternoon but every time I've ventured past 9pm, I've been able to secure a spot nearby.

Really good late night spot for homey comfort food. Everything was pretty decent but what made this place was the service. The grandma who took our order was very kind and attentive. Food came quick and was super hot. Would come again if in the area and would try new dishes out!
