This review is loooong over due! I am deeply saddened to learn that Nest Of Comforts has had to close! I came to visit this place two days in a row for my birthday August 2020. I was so excited to have found a place where I can experience high tea in the Bay Area! However, before I could leave the house, I received terrible news that my uncle had passed away from covid, and everyone was trying to keep it from me since it was my birthday weekend. It took me sooooo long to get out of the house after that news, that I didn't get to Nest Of Comforts until almost closing time. The owner and her daughter still gave me full service! The sandwiches and scones were awesome and the tea was lovely. The service was outstanding and we even talked about my uncle and fond memories I had of him! I ordered somethings to-go as well. I noticed that it took sometime to get the check and to go package even though I was the only one there, but I didn't mind. When I got home I took the whole package and put it in the fridge without opening it. I came back the next day with my parents to celebrate my birthday again. When I got home I opened my to-go boxes... And to my pleasant surprise the owner had included so much more than I ordered! One of the boxes included a REAL PORCELAIN TEA CUP INSIDE, as well as a HANDWRITTEN CARD FROM THE OWNER SENDING HER CONDOLENCES REGARDING MY UNCLE'S PASSING! THIS COSTUMER SERVICE WAS EPIC! THE OWNER IS TRULY A CARING, COMPASSIONATE WOMAN! I WAS LOOKING HER PLACE UP TODAY TO VISIT, AND LEARNED NEST OF COMFORTS IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED!!!! I AM SOOOOOO SORRY!! I HOPE THIS REVIEW FINDS YOU IN GREAT HEALTH AND PROSPERITY DURING THIS SEASON! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY! I WILL NEVER FORGET IT!!!!

Really sad they've decided to close - we got the take out box today and the food is top notch quality and it's clear the owner really cares. I hope she reopens elsewhere or maybe decides to do an interim business! For example, maybe offer special events like offer take out boxes and offer pick up at a local park for a self serve afternoon picnic! This could help address the small outdoor seating area and optimize labor costs. Thanks for the delicious food!

So now I'm addicted to this place and just read they they are closing shop later this month. So bummed. Food is delicious and presentation is superb for to-go. Please try them out before it's too late

I found this nice hole in the wall cafe accidentally when I was walking around to find coffee after I finished shopping at Blick Arts. A very kind lovely woman greeted me and I ordered lavender latte and a pastry. The latte was awesome and the pastry was great. They were very kind to give me an extra piece of cake too! Because they were celebrating their one year birthday! Can't wait to come back and can't wait to actually sit in that cozy cafe after all this Covid craziness is over!

Just ordered a delicious tea with scones, cream and jam and a small confetti cake. I really miss the cream teas of England, and these scones did not disappoint - tender and a bit crumbly, with just the right amount of fresh cream and jam. The confetti cake was surprisingly light and tasty. I look forward to a tea service onsite after COVID. For now I can say the scones were packaged with care and everything arrived ready for at-home tea. Thank you!

Stopped on a road trip for a treat: very lovely neighborhood with plenty of street parking. Super cute decor and set up, definitely well suited for pickup/takeout.Great that they have alternative milks; I had a lavender latte with oat milk. It was subtle and sweet, not too overwhelming with lavender. All together a really delightful place, glad we stopped by.

We found this place by accident and it was a lucky find.they have nice seating area under some trees on a quiet corner in Berkeley. The cranberry scone with cream and jam were perfect. The scone was delicious, the cream was not sweetened and the jam was sticky sweet goodness. We had espresso and a latte which were quite good.Definitely coming back for tea, sandwiches and pastries.

Amazing spot for tea or coffee or lattes and pastry items. it's away from all the traffic on the main road. Outdoor seating is available. Highly, highly recommended. A+

An amazing spot for tea, a latte, or snack while waiting for the Tesla service center to finish up. Two outdoor tables and extra covid precautions like hand sanitizer, spacing, and masks. I had a great little sampler that they had for Berkeley restaurant week - something like $15 for a pot of tea, scones with cream and jam, and fresh fruit. They opened in January and obviously haven't had much business so please support this local small business!

This place is so wonderful. The scenery and decor is very beautiful, and the food is well-presented as well as delicious. I had the white rose tea with some tea sandwiches. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. The staff is very friendly, even in these troubling times :)
So good! Their scones were moist and delicious. My boys loved the chocolate chip and shortbread cookies.

Delightful tea service for pickup or outdoor dining (I've only ever done pickup). A changing array of treats makes the experience softly different every time!

Lynette was very kind and helpful. She was instrumental in making sure my proposal was elegant and fun with a picnic tea service. Thank you so much!
