I went here this past week and they are take-out only + have updated hours! I've been here for five years and the best part of this place is the consistent quality. Everything still tastes as delicious as the food that I got the very first time I went.... And this is why I keep coming back. I always get the spicy bun bo hue or the salty, sweet claypot tofu (the one with the rice on the side). Also, the owners are friendly and sweet. :)

Been coming here for four years and don't see myself stopping any time soon. My go-to is always the special combo pho. For to-go orders, the noodles are packaged separately from the soup and wrapped in foil. If it's a warmer day, I always opt for their BBQ pork Bún Salad. The owner is super friendly and really kind! Always makes me want to go back. Note: cash only!

I've been coming here for many years. It's a great value. Tasty healthy food, low prices. I'm not fond of the noodle dishes, but anything made with shrimp or ginger is unbeatable. If you want to substitute extra veggies for the rice, they'll gladly do it, though this choice is not on the menu. Note that it's cash only, though I believe it's a big mistake on their part, because UC students, which are a big part of their following, are prone to paying with plastic.

The vegetarian bun bo hue here is absolutely incredibly. I can't say that I'd recommend the pho, but seriously, you have to try the bun bo hue. It has a nice spicy and numbing broth.

This place was my favorite go to for lunch. I'll admit I never deviated much from my order so the 5 stars are for the two dishes I always get and for the staff. I always get bun bo hue or the combo pho, and both have flavorful broths and a good amount of ingredients and noodles. It's my comfort food. I also always get an iced Vietnamese coffee for the afternoon boost.

Mom and pop shop serving flavorful food without breaking the bank. The bun bo hue, pho, wonton noodle soup, and claypot fish are all great.

I love going here. My only reason for not posting 5 stars is due to lack of answering their phone. However, the food is exceptional! Vietnamese coffee is my favorite, Mary's Special and fried calamari appetizer!!

Unassuming place. Cheap, big portions, rice included, plenty of vegan options and super tasty. Great place to get take-out from as they're also super fast. 10 minutes from order to food ready. Cash only!

This is the best place to get pho in Berkeley. The broth is delicious and very light, unlike other place that use too much MSG. My favorites are the chicken pho and bun bo hue. I would make the trip from southside just to get pho from Oriental restaurants all the time. The owners are very sweet and they offer a great selection of Vietnamese food. Thanks Oriental for making me feel like I'm home during my college years at Cal! P.S. Remember to bring cash and they're not open on weekends.

We are huge fans of the grilled chicken pho, and their broth is delicious. It's a small space but everything we've tried is excellent. It's cozy place where you'll get a great meal for a good price.

My partner and I like to check out pho restaurants when we are traveling and the Oriental restaurant did not disappoint. Prompt seating, nice condiments plates with the soup, really good Vietnamese coffee. Not the best pho restaurant I've ever been to but certainly a good choice if you're in the neighborhood.

Amazingly fresh and quality food. Great for lunch or dinner and very reasonable prices for downtown Berkeley. I have walked past this restaurant numerous times and never noticed it. Finally went in with a coworker who had recommended it. Super casual setting that holds some of the best Vietnamese in town. I was there after work on a Wednesday and there was a healthy turnover of dine-in customers and take-out orders. They crank it out. We were instantaneously seated and served tea within 3 minutes of sitting. The food was hot and fresh- perhaps my favorite wonton soup (handmade dumplings and refreshing cabbage-filled broth) and their basil chicken had a delicious sauce with a balanced rice to sauce ratio. Generous portions, especially if you order their lunch or dinner plates - they come with soup and a side of rice or veggies. My colleague ordered the Vermicelli salad bowl with prawns and chicken and thought is was "all time!" Will definitely go back to try other dishes.
