All of the food was very good, and great cozy upscale restaurant in the heart of downtown Berkeley. However, I thought the service was slow. Servers were friendly and accommodating, however, there was a 10-15 minute wait after we sat down before anyone attended to us, then another 15 minutes before drinks were brought to the table. Entrees were served to two guests almost ten minutes before the other two guests were served. Little things we asked for (more water, extra spoon, hot water for tea, etc) had to be asked for twice. It was a Friday night so it was busy, but we arrived at the first seating (5:15), and still found that service was slow and inattentive, although friendly.

Everything about this place is fantastic. Every food item I've ever ordered has been delicious, the drinks are wonderful, and the service is spectacular. They accommodate you if need to hurry to make your theatre reservations. You'll be happy you go.

Wonderful anniversary experience!! Staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and well priced, and the overall ambiance was perfect for a calm and romantic evening.

We had a lovely pre-theater meal on a Saturday night. The place was packed, but our server, Gabriela, kept everything flowing at the right pace. I had the cheeseburger and fries, which was delicious, and very large; but wow, $25 for a burger? That's my only gripe. Revival went through a tough patch post-COVID, but is fully revived now, and one of the best restaurant in downtown Berkeley. Can't beat the convenience for Berkeley Rep, Aurora or Freight 7 Salvage.

The food was delicious, served very attractively, and arrived in timely fashion. We had requested a quiet table which we did receive and were grateful because the tables are very close together.

I was dining with my partner at revival the other week for the first time before our show as we had been recommended by our friends and we were having a delightful meal but this haunting experience has been stuck in our head. Towards the end of our meal, who appeared to be the female chef in the kitchen began getting very distraught about what seemed like a large party’s order. She proceeded to yell at several employees in the process and even name calling in a very degrading manner. We had to leave shortly after this for our show but we were not the only table nearby that seemed uncomfortable by this behavior which was on full display for the restaurant being taken out on her staff. We felt very sympathetic for our server and the rest of the obviously disheartened crew. We will likely not return as they are other relaxing options nearby to dine with apparently healthier company culture’s

First time in Berkeley. Based on the menu items, reserved a table for 6 to host relatives living in the Bay Area for a reunion . Arrived early to leave my credit card with the hostess to assure that the check would be handled by me.While waiting, the place was not that crowded at all. Despite this, the service was slow bringing the drinks. The place was too lit with multiple bright lights right above tables. The food was fair but the finale was a disaster. The check was offered to one of the guests I was hosting even though my credit card was with the waiter who brought the check. The waiter then argued that I had to work out the check issue with my guests. I took up the issue with the host as the first hostess had already left. I also brought it up with the manager who understood and apologized. I still left a 20% tip on a $600 bill and we all exited the restaurant. As we were all parting ways, we were ambushed by the host outside the restaurant who personally insulted me for having complained to the manager. In his own words, "shame on you". When my guests interfered, he proceeded to insult them too. I returned to the restaurant to have the manager aware of the ambush. When she came out, the host shouted out that she was not allowed to manage him because he was "outside" the restaurant. Many racial and sexual opinions were extended by the host to my guests which were humiliating, despicable and unwarranted. The entire experience was ruined for us all and it continues to haunt us. We left emotionally distressed, in shock , confused and concernedBeware. The choice of food is not worth the potential risk of a very distressing experience.

Very much enjoyed the meal. Had beet linguini with shrimp- very good. The Halibut was also very good, as were the drinks. Citrus salad quite tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. A little pricey and noisy, but overall a very nice dinner.

This place is a new favorite spot. Service was excellent. The drinks were spot on. The staff was friendly and attentive. And the food? 10/10. Couldn't ask for a better overall experience.

Food and ambience was excellent. The kitchen or wait service made a mistake on one of the orders. I would say that was careless as my wife specifically said no aoli and they ended up putting it on the bun. It delayed her meal The service was friendly, but a little slow

We ordered the price fix menu, and it was to die for from beginning to end. We had oysters, which were fresh and delicious. The drinks were as usual, cutting edge and handcrafted. The wine selection was equally varied and delicious. I would return, even if it wasn't a special occasion, but for Valentine's Day, it was very romantic.

I've never had a bad meal at Revival and our most recent experience there didn't disappoint. Their euclidean plane, similar to the bourbon based paper but with grapefruit liqueur, was outstanding. The arancini were delicious as always, the toasted brussel sprouts with hummus was packed with flavor, and the Dungeness crab stack was excellent. The only dish that fell short was the Sonoma mushroom flatbread—there was hardly any cheese on it and the crust was undercooked. The service was great as was the ambience. Revival always has a festive, hopping vibe, which is its best attribute.
