Great work or study spot! Lots of seating on a Saturday evening. The wifi was very good but there were only a few folks inside. Normal coffee shop drinks and has a large food menu. Closed at 9pm instead of their listed time of 10pm so that was inconvenient.

Competant staff. Good coffee. Tasty light fare (the salads are very nice.) Popular with the locals. A Berkeley landmark.

Love their lox bagel and how inexpensive it is compared to everywhere else. Solid place to read or study. Coffee drinks could use some work but I've only had a few so could just be bad luck!

Excellent service, coffee, pastries, sandwiches and salads. I usually go for late breakfast and have coffee and the Lox bagel.

Pretty chilled place. Workers are friendly and chilled and the food , coffee are real good and simple. Everyday to go place.....

Average coffee, average pastries. Main perk is the late operating hours and plentiful seating. Also the bus stop right outside allows some piece of mind for those taking the bus home late. The establishment itself is fairly run-down feeling and the restroom doesn't radiate a sense of hygiene. Some of the outlets are very loose so woe to anyone who has a Mac or other heavy charger because it will not stay in. Select your table and chairs carefully, lots of wobblyness!

I have been to Sacks a number of times and on the positive side I love that there's always room to sit, it's a nice open and bright space and I feel like when I'm there I'm very productive. On the downside, I don't feel like their coffee is that great and the service borders on cold without being rude. Also, I got a parking ticket today which was a real bummer! It's two hour parking on the side streets and they mean it so be careful! I think this may mean I don't go there as often because it's a little out of my way and too long a drive for only two hours.

Quite popular with students. There were a lot of laptops, little conversation, and good wifi. I found it stifling, though, with ample seating but not enough space. The colors and lighting are good, though.

You call that coffee? Avoid the coffee at the coffee house and you'll do fine, hahahahaha. - The bad - The coffee tastes like motor oil The cappuccinos taste like diesel motor oil The bathroom has been in non-operation for a week The staff is generally rude / standoffish except for one girl - I would be too if I worked here. The wifi doesn't work. I'm guessing they don't make an upgrade, not enough IP's available when more that 10 People are in here. The allow homeless people in nightly - who smell, blast their dj music, and don't make purchases and bring their homeless cart inside the coffee shop. - the good - Flexible hours - opens at 7am - closes at 10pm Plenty of seating The lemonade and Oj are consumable Pastries and cookies are decent Plenty of outlets Shady 101: Apparently the employees are using the bathroom, but have a broken sign on the door, probably cause they don't want to clean it after customers. Great work!

Lately, I've been obsessed with cafes and coffee shops for some reason. It feels like I frequent cafes more than I do bars and lounges these days. The crazy part is I don't even drink coffee! I guess my "old age" is finally starting to sink in (bahahahaha!). Sack's is awesome. It's THAT place. It's THE coffee house. The place that you wanna go to for studying, working, or even relaxing. It's spacious and bright. The large windows allow for lots of soft natural light to come in. The ceilings are high, the music is calming, the vibes are chill. If I was a local or a Berkeley student, I would come here all the time. The best part about this place is that the food and drink is actually really good! So often I've gone to the cutest cafes that don't have good food and drinks. Sack's definitely lives up to the hype. Their menu is pretty extensive too. They've got a mix of salads, sammies, baked goods, and breakfast items. I love that they offer a variety of non-coffee based drinks too. They have several different types of tea, juices, and smoothies. The ladies who were working were really pleasant and also super fast in their preparations. The salads and sammies are moderately priced for the area. I ended up ordering their Julia Morgan salad and a Chai latte. The salad was really delicious and everything tasted fresh. I love the unique veggie combos and names of their salads. At first I was kind of nervous about how the Julia Morgan would taste, but all of the flavors melded together really well. The only down side is that the salad wasn't very filling. Maybe it was just that particular salad, but I still felt a bit hungry afterward. Maybe I should have added some type of meat to it? Either way, it still tasted really good. The Chai was amazing. I absolutely adored the flavor. It was sweet but it also had a mild spiciness that balanced it out really well. I would come back solely for that Chai to be honest. Near the window, they have a bunch of "sacks" laying against the wall. I love how it adds to the theme. Seating is ample. They've got tons of tables and plenty of places to sit and relax. I read a few reviews that said their wifi is weak. Fortunately, it was working just fine when I was there. All in all, I'm pretty sold on this place. I want to try a few more of their salads, so hopefully the next one that I try will be filling.
I spend a lot of time studying in this coffee shop. The wifi works most of the time but can be slow and although their food and drinks are overpriced, the quality and taste is pretty good. My favorite item on their menu would definitely be their College Panini. I get this sandwich every time I study here, and it's the perfect thing to give me a little study break and boost my energy. I'm not a huge fan of coffee, but I do think the coffee they serve here is pretty good, and I've gotten it a couple times. Their pastries, especially their brownies, are also very good. They're definitely overpriced, but when you've been studying for hours in the same spot, an overpriced brownie that tastes good is definitely worth it. My favorite part of the cafe would definitely be the aesthetics. The cozy interior and coffee sacks in the corners are nice. Check out @ajflatlays for some coffee/food related flatlays!

Overpriced for sure but decent place for tea or coffee drinks, although there are better options around that aren't overpriced(they'll charge you $1.40 to put butter on your bagel). Usually crowded with students. I just stick to tea here. Edit: after several times here one of the employees is very rude. She is the heavy woman with glasses. Never a smile, never a thank you, just dirty looks. She is also often eating and putting her fingers in her mouth before touching money. Really the coldest barista in Berkeley. The other heavy woman is quite nice, but the one with glasses makes me avoid this place.

mediocre food, the staff is really apathetic and unfriendly. Wifi is slooooow as molasses. ALSO, this place gets robbed every other week. You'd think the owner would beef up security at this place after getting hit so much.

Nice atmosphere. Lots of outlets, which is helpful, if working on laptop or just charging your phone.
