I asked employee about Chaos Reigns Hazy IPA and she says "it's a hazy ipa". Really? Wow! Thanks!! Can you expand on that? She couldn't. Beer hear is without question great. Service? Lacking.

It was that moment where my husband said, "I wished there was a brewery nearby," and I said, "I wished there was a restroom open." Thank goodness for checking my Yelp app! It directed me to Sierra Nevada which we didn't even know was here! If you go a little further down 4th Street, past Spengers and go pass the overpass, there's some newer apartments and you'll find Sierra Nevada across the street from Catahoula Coffee and Rims & Goggles, kitty corner to the Takara Sake. Nice wood decor, creative use of using the kegs for lighting, love the chalk art on the wall! Things to know: - Indoor seating available - Small outdoor patio seating - Gender neutral restrooms - Order at the bar, they'll pour your beer, open your tab and find a seat. - If you would like food, order at the bar and they will bring it out to you. The space is small enough so they know who you are and will find you. - Walking distance to shopping area - You can either park in front (metered) or go a block down for off street parking. Be mindful if there's a time limit. Also, we noticed that cars don't tend to stop at stop signs in that area, so be careful. - Have fun and drink responsibly!

3 stars a few years back but recently they are 5 stars so now, they're 4!...4 years ago I wrote this: Chill but odd place. There's music playing in the background. You can have conversations here. Doesn't have the vibe of open friendliness regarding crowd, atmosphere & service. Service used to be much better. I'd go here again if I was craving beer, in the area, wasn't busy inside, someone really wants to go here & maybe when there's a genuine warmth from servers.

You have a lot of great choices for taps and brews in Berkeley. The Sierra Nevada Torpedo room sets itself apart from the rest as a special places to find super fresh brews you can't find in stores. No expense spared on the architecture!

This is a few blocks from the main drag on fourth street but worth the walk. They have a good selection of Sierra's beers and some non-alcoholic options as well. The environment is full of cool little nods to the brewing process with kegs and funnels as light fixtures. Their creative team did an amazing job designing the space. The fridge is stocked with take away including six packs for $11. The Big Little Thing IPA at 9% ABV is an absolute steal. The manager remembered my name after I went in twice in a row and the bartenders are nice with a lot of knowledge about their selection. My only gripe is that the board doesn't show the prices with tax, which is kind of weird. Not a big deal but worth keeping in mind if you're paying with cash so you remember to take care of your bartender.

Literally just come here already - delicious beers on tap or in the fridge. Friendly service and such a cute location. Gotta love Sierra Nevada ?

First of lol to whoever was like "this is a fancy part of Berkeley I can't believe they allow an outdoor mall" bc it's clearly not a mall there's just a tiny little dog friendly patio and why would a nice, well established beer co not make sense for a bougie part of town?! ANYWAYS. This is a chill outpost for Sierra Nevada brewing. For example, I've been to their MASSIVE campus in South Asheville NC and this is clearly a different experience! Just a small taproom but w lots of variety in the SN offerings. I was also lucky to visit during SF beer week so they had some truly special things including a 2014 barley wine release. I loved that they did small pours for reasonable prices since it was midday on a Sunday and I just could not decide what I wanted. Loved that we could have the dog outside. Def got a bit chilly as the sun was not directly on us and there's no lamps so if planning to sit outside dress w some layers! My partner had the soup/grilled cheese combo and for a brew pub the price is reasonable- I don't know maybe if you're in town from not a big city the price could be high but if you're used to normal big city prices then you shouldn't be concerned. Again, lol. Anyways great time on the patio, really friendly bar staff and I love being able to visit another SN location!

I had the best visit here, the staff are phenomenal, and professional without the attitude you will get at Cornerstone or Jupiter. The best crowd in Berkeley, the food and beer are also great.!!

My favorite local brew pub believe it or not with a well priced varied selection and many surprisingly good brews that are not sold in the stores. A few nice food choices especially the grilled cheese and a lot of nice games choices and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and definitely do not rush you. Small outdoor seating area and nice to see them back after a long closure. Beer prices are solid and they give you beer tastes before you decide on your pint!

Great place with a friendly staff. Clean and reasonably priced. While I was there briefly returning to CA from the east coast... I really liked the neighborhood bar environment.

Visiting the Torpedo Room is a fun way to taste local beers (make sure to get a flight). They have quite a variety, from different IPAs to stouts to wheat beers, some fruity, some spiced, some light, some hoppy. It's a great deal too, and a fun experience overall. The bar staff were friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about the beers.

We were celebrating my husband's birthday and as a Chico State alum, Sierra Nevada is one of his favorite breweries. I wish they had a place like this in San Jose! Although it is small inside and outside, it is a beautiful space to have a beer and talk. They do not have televisions and allow dogs outside. The service was prompt and friendly. They have two all gender bathrooms. They have some bar seating against the window and tables for 6-8 people. The taproom had 12 brews on tap including favorites like Hazy Little Thing IPA, classics like Old Chico (Crystal Wheat) and unique finds like a hard kombucha. They also have snacks and a few food options such as a grilled cheese and soup/salad. I highly recommend their soft pretzel which melted in my mouth. It is served with their famous beer cheese which I couldn't have but didn't mind. I had their Cantaloupe Gose which was crisp, light, refreshing and slightly tarte. You can really smell and taste the melon. They had a wide selection of board and card games, too! If you're doing a beer tour, add this to your itinerary!
