We made a reservation here while visiting Berkeley last Sunday and had an absolutely amazing time. Between the Pacific Oysters, Dungeness Crab, Lobster and Shrimp roll and our desserts I couldn't have asked for a more well made, delicious seafood dining experience. Our server Angelica was absolutely amazing, very attentive, and immediacy resolved any request we had. The cocktails were original and unique and we enjoyed all the ones we tried. I've never had a better key lime pie and my wife adored the crème brulee. Not only are the food and service amazing, our view from the window of the city, bridge, and bay was phenomenal. This will be a regular stop when we are in the area.

We love skates. We visited at Monday lunchtime. No reservation. We asked the server which she recommends. Then we ordered shrimp and crab sandwich. It was not oily and tasty. I ordered cheese burger. It was little bit overcooked for me but ok. We could see the yacht sailing. Regular lunch or special occasion, both was good.

THE TRUTH WAS A BAD EXPERIENCE.I CAME TO EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT. AND THERE WAS ALMOST NO PEOPLE AND THEY TOLD ME TO SIT WHERE I WANTED AND THE ONE WHO SERVED ME SEEMED FRIENDLY, BUT THEY DIDN'T GIVE ME THE MENU, AND I WAITED FOR 10 MINUTES AND A MAN SERVED US. BROUGHT THE DRINKS AND STILL THEY DIDN'T GIVE US THE MENU, AND THEN WAITED MORE THAN HALFTIME FOR THEM TO COME TO SERVE ME AND NOTHING, AND THEN LATER SEVERAL PEOPLE ARRIVED AT OTHER TABLES AND THERE WERE 4 TABLES IN TOTAL AND THEY ATTENDED ALL THE PEOPLE LESS TO US, THEY BROUGHT THEM FOOD AND DRINKS AS SOON AND THEY FORGOT THAT WE WERE THEM. FIRST TO ARRIVE. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE. I HOPE THEY CAN IMPROVE

Review for SkSkate on the Bay in Berkeley offers a fantastic dining experience with delicious food, excellent service, and a charming waterfront environment. The menu features mouthwatering seafood dishes that are sure to satisfy any seafood lover, and the attentive staff go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. However, my visit was slightly marred by a concerning issue at the entrance. While waiting to be seated, there was a noticeable and unpleasant odor emanating from the restroom area, which detracted from the overall ambiance of the restaurant.Despite this small hiccup, once inside, the wonderful food and impeccable service quickly overshadowed the initial odor concern. The stunning views of the bay added to the dining experience, creating a memorable and enjoyable evening. In conclusion, Skate on the Bay is a fantastic choice for a seafood dining experience in Berkeley, offering top-notch cuisine and service. While the issue of the restroom odor at the entrance was a minor downside, it did not overshadow the overall positive experience at this charming waterfront restaurant.

Came here with 4 people on a Tuesday afternoon and there was plenty of seating inside.Good:- The linguine pasta here was amazing - huge portion sizes and the saltiness-to-savory ratio was perfect- Lots of great appetizers, I enjoyed the oysters and the artichoke dip a lot- The place was so fancy, it was upscale- Good dessert too, I liked the carrot cake and the cheesecakeBad:- A bit expensive but overall worth it for the food and the views- A bit slow service and the food took a while to get outOverall enjoyed the experience of coming here and that there were lots of options fon the menu!

Super views of the San Francisco Bay, the City, Sausalito, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, the Bay Bridge, and everything else in the bay. Located right on the water, upscale menu with steak, lobster, great calamari and many other dishes. Most excellent wine list. Highly recommend.

Service was great didn't need to flag down our server he kept our glasses full.
The location is beautiful and the server is very friendly. And food was so yummy. The pasta I ordered was awesome. But the entry area of the restroom was so stinky. And the rest room is so dirty. The toilet papers scattered all over the rest room.
This was a wonderful experience. The ocean water and breeze was so relaxing after dinner. The views during dinner were breath taking. The staff is pleasant and does not rush you. The food was amazing and of the best quality. Definitely a place not only would I recommend but will return to. They also have a large selection of wines that fit any palate.

Lovely, fancy seafood and to die for views… if you can snag the window seat. It’s a very popular spot for couples and families, expect a range of ages. Food was good, a bit too fancy for my taste, but the view is worth the price. Attentive waitstaff:)
