$9 for a cold boiled egg on a flimsy biscuit. Took one bite and threw it in the trash.Latte was fine.

After grabbing coffee, I stopped here for a quick bite in the morning and was pleasantly surprised. There is limited indoor seating at the restaurant, but there is a lot of outdoor seating that is perfect to enjoy your food at on a nice day out. I ordered the roasted chicken sandwich and the portion was amazing for the price. The sandwich itself was really good although I wish it had more chicken in it to balance out the amount of produce in the sandwich. The bread definitely pulled the whole sandwich together. I am looking forward to coming back and trying more things on the menu!

Love this spot for lunch. They have a daily menu that rotates and always has some good salad, soup, and sandwich options in addition to a daily plate. Always really crowded for lunch and seating outside is limited so usually better to plan to get it to go.

Recommend their lunch sandwich. The weekend brunch usually see more crowd (expectedly). I recommend going to La Noisette and coming to Standard Fare. There is a self service for getting spoons and forks. Also clean up the plates after finish eating. There are throw blankets available for outdoor seatings. The tables are usually full at peak hours.

I could write a love note to Standard Fare. This is my favorite place to bring friends and family. It's giving "California Casual" vibes - you get the california style of "farm to table" quality but you're doing it in a more casual setting (order at the counter and pay there before you find your seat). This place is always bustling for good reasons! Their weekday and weekend menu are different but they also change up the menu items for each (and i think it depends on what produce they receive for the week?).Anyways, there has not been a single item on here that I don't like. The food comes pretty fast considering the demand and size of their staff. I've also noticed that it's heavily female driven which is a nice add.Random: get the chai! It's so good and homemade

Decent coffee, some excellent pastries (like the cheesy biscuit with a fantastic homemade relish), and you can almost sit right in the kitchen and see everything happening. The frittata, while nicely stacked with seasonal veg, could have been more flavourful.

Why I love berkely os you can still find gems like this giving you amazing locally sourced ingredient food Not cheap but tasting it you know why. Counter order limited outside seating so avoid when raining.

Five stars because what they do well, they do extremely well. With that, a few warnings:1) All the pastries are too sweet. The savory stuff is what you're here for.2) The breakfast here is good, but pretty spartan on weekdays relative to weekend brunch. Most of the options, like the frittata and the egg sandwich, are served cold out of the pastry case.3) I would advise against letting them talk you into putting an egg on your waffle. Just order the egg on the side if more egg sounds nice.4) If you get here late in the day, they may sell you a weird old wet sandwich that has been sitting around since they were actually busy.

There are a number of places like Standard Fare spread around the Bay Area. Places like Tartine, Jane the Bakery, and the like. Every neighborhood is lucky to have these bakery/lunch spots adorning the streets with wafts of homemade bread and other handmade confectioneries. It’s places like these that give the neighborhood a personality, a feel, a vibe.

Fresh local and creative fare with special menu items that keep you coming back. I had their special Roast Beef and Kohlrabi Sandwich which was tasty with a couple green and black olives for an accented complement. Very creative place worthy of a drive.

Cute little place. Feels very local. Oatmeal is surprisingly delicious. Not sure if I want to visit again but definitely happy with this brunch experience.
