We love going out. Yesterday we visited this delicious place which friends told us about. We had a lovely time there with exceptional meal and a courteous team and an impressive chef. We put this fine restaurant in our list and we shall definitely visit again very soon. We deeply recommend.

Service went downhill this year probably why they might be closed. Don’t know when it will open again

Food is amazing but ALL THREE of their locations have inaccurate hours listed and never seem to be open in any consistent way. Have been burned so many times walking/driving to one of their locations just to find it closed. At this point I kinda just give up.

I have mixed emotions about this place...so I'll just list my pros and cons: Pros: - halaal options - sweet, juicy plantains - easy menu, decent pricing - the sauce they gave me in the side was the star of the meal, period. Cons: - OMG parking..so glad i don't live in Berkeley :p - the beef didn't have that certain.. je ne sais quoi - I wish the cashier was a bit friendly, not a big deal though. I'm going to give this place one more try at a different location & actually sit down and eat.

Not bad and certainly different from the usual food you can find around Berkeley. It's pretty small so not much seating. I got the skewer meal with beef, j*** chicken, corn, and plantain. I really enjoyed the j*** chicken which had a lot of flavor and a good kick of spice. The seasoning on the beef was good but the beef itself was a bit dry. I'd probably get 2 chicken skewers with the 2 different seasonings on them the next time I go. Corn and plantains were pretty standard grilled. The aioli that comes with the meal was great for dipping meat. Pretty worth it for $9!

I got the j*** prawn salad, so good! Menu is separated and you pick each element of the dish (type, protein, seasoning). The dressing was tasty and I got a good amount of prawns. Cute spot with limited seating inside and outside.

The most disappointed Ive ever been by a well rated yelp place. I was SO excited to try this place, based on the description. It sounded cheap, and grilled plantains and corn sound awesome. I brought a friend here for her first time too. She got chicken, i got veggie. We both got corn and plantains. The plantains were terrible, everything else was good. The plantains they gave us tasted very old. My friend and I independently reached that conclusion for our seperate pieces. It literally had a rotten taste to it. Like they were using rotting plantains or they fried them and left them out without refrigeration for a full day. That's what it tasted. One of the grossest experiences at a restaurant for me. Especially disappointing considering sweet plantains are one of my favorite side dishes, this ruined it. If I wasn't in a rush to leave and therefore didn't want to make a scene, I was gonna march up to the cashier and say "how could you serve food that clearly is far past its prime?" But I had to leave soon. Only reason that's not a 1 star experience was I felt had i not gotten the plantain and gotten rice or salad, I would rate the food 4 stars. Cuz the corn and kebabs were good.
