We have given this place three tries and although the first trip was fine, the next two were not. The food is good on a good day. The service is very poor. I don't know if there is a manager but we have only gone on the weekend and the young staff seems totally inept to provide a basic breakfast service. Last time we went we waited at least 45 minutes before our food came, took forever to even take our order. Then we waited another ten minutes for silverware. I asked for silverware four times and tried to find some myself, but there was none available without entering the kitchen. Each time I told the waiter that we needed silverware they proceeded to do something else - our food was on the table getting cold, absolutely unacceptable! We gave them 'one last try' today and again, miserably slow service even though there weren't many guests and they had a staff of six.Coffee was served warmish, ugh. One person in our group waited fifteen minutes after everyone else's food arrived. Half of us were done eating by then! Went to pay the bill and had been overcharged, when I pointed it out there was an extra meal and there was no hint of an apology. The food was ok but the potatoes were terrible, five plates included them and they were all barely touched. They have a beautiful location and solid menu but this place is in dire need of new management and training for the staff. We will not return and would recommend going only when you have a LOT of time to sit waiting. And if you like your coffee cold.

Food and service was really bad. Don’t know if it was just a bad day but it was a really bad experience. The service was slow. We had to remind them of our order multiple times. We ordered the alameda, tuna melt and sausage scramble. They ran out of fries, the flavor wasn’t good for any of the dishes.

Good food with large quantity. One entree can serve two people. The coffee here, specifically the cappuccino, is almost no coffee and all foam. Come here for the food. Also the outdoor seating is great featuring a nice garden.

I never write reviews but my experience here was so bad I figured I should. Came here for Sunday breakfast and there was only a few other people there. Took over 20 minutes just for someone to take our order, then took about 35 minutes to get the food out (just eggs Benedict and eggs/toast). Once it came, the eggs Benedict and side potatoes were completely cold. I am not one to send food back but after waiting that long and getting cold food... so I asked for it to be sent back, then took another 20 minutes to get that one. Waiter was apologetic and said it would be taken off the bill. Then when we went to pay (because it was taking for ever to bring check) and they did not take it off the bill, charged us full price. It was so chaotic in there that we didn’t argue and just paid and left. Sadly, this place is cute, but we will not be back.

They took our order twice and the burrito and omelet had very little meat. Slow service, old location was much better

Great food! I ordered the chicken and waffles and a small orange juice. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and had pulp (which I love) and the "small size" was actually pretty filling. I went on a Saturday morning, so it was a little crowded, maybe 2/3s full, but it took a pretty long time for me to get my food. Orange juice came out quickly, but the chicken and waffles took probably half an hour. However, the staff was very kind and they checked up on me a lot, letting me know when my food was coming. I decided to sit outside and the fauna and decor made the experience very calming. Very well decorated and has plenty of comfortable seating. I also think the wait for the chicken and waffles was worth it because I could tell the chicken was freshly fried. I will definitely be coming here again!

Closing at end of April and moving to new location. Perfectly decent food, but due for upgrade (which hopefully will happen with new location. ) staff short staffed, which makes review tough.

Awful service, awful presentation, awful food. Do yourself a favor and find breakfast anywhere else.

Had a great lunch here! I ordered the Bacon Alameda and I highly recommend. I'm crazy about breakfast sandwiches and I love a spot with an original menu item and this certainly qualifies. The savory French toast was a great bread for the sandwich. If you're like me, a breakfast-burrito-and-sandwich guy, then this is the item for you. A great outdoor patio, a beautiful tranquil spot to hang out and catch up, and you walk through a fun tunnel with a cool display on the way here. Definitely recommend!

Great service but very mid food. I honestly was in the mood for grabbing American breakfast and stumbled upon this place since La Note had a long wait. I wasn't expecting the place to be very small but the staff were so accommodating to my party. They brought out another table so that we can seat a total of 3 people. While the wait is long, the service is great. The workers ensured everything was good and that I was fine with what I needed. Even upon paying, the worker asked if everything was alright. I had the Amaretto french toast and thought this was average but it made me stuffed for most of the day. I probably would come back here if I didn't come at peak times.

Drove down for breakfast as they showed open on Yelp and per the current business hours. Stood outside with other patrons in line and observed employee inside. Ten minutes after scheduled opening time still not open. Called restaurant while standing out front with no answer. Everyone including us walked away. Employee inside could have at least showed decency to advise of late opening or any customer service. How can you even function as a business with service like this. Hence we and others went elsewhere.

Amateur hour. Paper plate. Toast comes with no butter, Jam, or anything. Nothing to put in potatoes. Door is open so very chilly inside. No bathroom available. Upstairs seating closed. Underwhelming and a bit overpriced.

Pretty long wait, inattentive service and meh food. (Ordered quesadilla, eggs Benedict, Grand Canyon scramble). It was a Sunday morning and they didn't have coffee. Only decaf. Maybe this place was better a few years ago. Not anymore. Felt sorry for the suckers like us that were waiting for a table not knowing that it wouldn't be worth the wait. I support small businesses but this was one has to go or they need to work on their service and their food.

Darn, hate to say but I agree with other recent reviews. I was pretty shocked at the experience I had this morning at the Sunny Side Cafe. The food was okay. The food was served on a paper plate. Everything was a little off. I won't return soon.

Lost our order and left us sitting outside for 90 minutes. The food looks great but who knows?
