Booked a reservation on open table for 6:30, show up, they don’t respect the reservation, despite the place being NEARLY EMPTY, honestly won’t expect this place to be here within 3 months like the rest of the spots that have come and go in this location. Take your money somewhere where they respect you!
I’ve been there couple days ago and everything was terrible. I feel bad writing this but I appreciate checking reviews before go try somewhere new. The host/waitress treat me and my friends SO BAD since we arrived there, that was awful but since I wanted to try the food we stayed anyway. They were talking on their language and pointing us, laughing.. that’s so unprofessional and inappropriate. About the food, some fish’s was smelling so I didn’t tried all the omakase menu cause it wasn’t fresh at all. I had diarrhea and belly pain for 3 days, all us. Would never comeback. Completely awful in all ways.

Delicious Omakase for a worthwhile price!
Stand-out bites included:
- Kelp & kombu marinated local halibut nigiri (my personal favorite)
- Local black cod with miso
- Santa Barbara Uni & Sweet Shrimp
- Alaskan Ikura marinated in dashi broth
The classic slices (Salmon/Tuna/Albacore/Yelltowtail) were also delicious.
Rockpool really stands out among the recent Omakase hype, not only because the locally and japanese imported fish tasted incredible, but their 16-piece and 13-piece omakase options come in at an incredible $78 / $58 price!
That’s about $6 a bite after tax and tip, which for LA is pretty phenomenal given the top notch quality of this place.
Dietary restrictions: They make sure to ask you about any dietary restrictions and/or dislikes you might have which is very appreciated for an omakase focused restaurant.

Delicious! And very attentive service. The food is very fresh and a lot of their sushi is flown in from Japan. Top notch ❤️
Best sushi in town. Great date spot.

We did the deep sea omakase - for two people and a bottle of wine it was a little over $300, which included a mandatory service fee. While the service was great, we felt the sushi was only ok. There were some stand outs but overall it was now what I had hoped.

10/10 sushi experience.
We did the deep sea omakase and we were blown away with the freshness and flavor of the fish. Each bite was amazing and i can’t even put into words how great not only the fish was but the sushi rice.
10/10 for everything.
And the yuzu ice at the end. Wow. No better way to finish off the best omakase to date.
The service was outstanding as well. Very sweet people and very knowledgeable about everything that is being served.
MUST TRY. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Had a wonderful experience here. We tried the lunch omakase for $38 which is served Wednesday to Sunday, well worth it. The nigiri was very fresh and presented beautifully. Service was attentive.

Amazing!! Super authentic Sushi experience. Delicious, beautiful, and great price for the high level of quality you get. The service was great and everyone was so kind. They were also great about modifying to Kosher style.

I never leave reviews but I went here with my boyfriend and had one of the best food experience of my life! It was just jaw dropping. They have set menus- which are priced very reasonably and the quality of fish is top tier. It is authentic Japanese sushi (everyone who works there is Japanese); I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.

My first time trying an omakase style meal, and it blew me away! I love sushi, but the quality of this fish really made it a whole new experience. I tried a few different dishes I normally wouldn't gravitate towards, and I'm so happy I did - absolutely delicious! The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the chefs made sitting at the counter so enjoyable. Will definitely be coming back!

Wow wow wow! I am blown away at the quality and service at this new sushi restaurant on Robertson. Easily some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. The staff was lovely, the restaurant was beautiful, and the fish was incredibly fresh. I am so excited to come back for another round of the deep sea sushi options. Thanks for an amazing experience Rockpool Team!
