Everything is good, but no one item is great. I've had their burgers, omelets, French toast, burritos, and other Mexican fare. I would order all again, the food is always hot and fresh (999 times of 1,000) with great service. I have eaten here over 100 times and only once did I get subpar food. 10-20 $ per person is typical.
I just wanted some good coffee, but not only was it watered down, it tasted funny. Everything tastes like it's out of a can. I can't even say the sour dough toast was sour dough bread. All in all the food was bland and coffee tasted like reran coffee grounds. And our server had a "bland" attitude as well. I'd avoid if I was you!
I was very disappointed in the overall quality.Im a coffee person and the coffee tasted more like black tea. When I asked if there's was anything stronger the server got offended. The breakfast was bland no flavor, im thinking it must of come out the can because when it's fresh you can taste the flavors of the ingredients and im not talking about salt. Not coming back here ?
Amazing breakfast and lunches!! Reasonable prices, and very friendly staff!! I had Eggs Benedict and I've also had the beef dip!! Fries could use salt they are very bland
A Mexican restaurant masquerading as an American diner. A few servers did not speak English, or were not well trained on the menu. Food was disappointing; waffles were undercooked, omelet dry, and the pastrami sandwich very dry. Pre frozen fries. The only standout was the blueberry pancakes, which were quite good.
We were on our way out of big bear so we thought we'd give this place a try. The decor is out dated, makes you feel like you walked out of a time machine. However, it's clean, meals are priced right, and the food is decent. The coffee was on the weaker side. The staff is friendly, and despite the challenges of covid they worked as quickly as they could.
Came here because all the other places downtown were packed and busy and didn't want to deal with the wait and crowds. This place is bare bones, nothing fancy - typical diner. We ate on the patio, which is showing lots of wear, but we were happy to be outside. We ordered the french toast combo with eggs and the scrambled eggs were fluffy and the french toast was good and used good bread and came with a dollop of butter (they add cinnamon on top, so if you don't like cinnamon, you have to be sure to ask for it without it). The coffee was weak and would have been better stronger. Service was good and servers were nice.
What a fun, small-town diner. We chose it for the reviews and the patio seating. The service was outstanding--attentive and so friendly. We chose machaca and eggs, which was not as flavorful as it was plentiful. The salsa it was served with added a good dimension. We also had the omelet--avocado, tomato, and bacon. It was well done and delicious. Overall, a very good, down-home breakfast for about $12-14 per person.
Friendly quick service. Great breakfast. Wife and daughter had eggs Benedict, I had the machacca plate. Good prices.
Always good service. Tasty food.
Everything was delicious!! My husband had chicken fried steak, eggs and hashbrowns. Daughter had ham steak, waffles and egg. I had chorizo and eggs with hashbrowns. It was ALL delicious! The patio is pet friendly. They were very friendly!!
Staying in Big Bear with my grandsons and none of us wanted fast food for dinner. The food here is great! I had the turkey, bacon, chili Ortega melt with fries and it was delicious. One grandson had a kid's breakfast (breakfast is served all day) for dinner and he loved it. It's an older coffee shop with a very large menu. Will be back.
everything I've had there has been delicious. they have a great selection too
The service was great and the food was really good. I wanted pancakes and their pancakes delivered.
Honestly, I like their American breakfast more than Mexican one. Service was good, but I didn’t have internet connection there. I recommend they can get wifi in the restaurant.
