We really enjoyed the cocktail drinks here. We got birria and it was really hot. Perfect for the cold weather. Foods were so yummy. Prices are reasonable too.
Get the Chile Verde plate and try the fried ice cream for dessert! Food is authentic Mexican, service was great, and atmosphere is fun. The drinks are good.Food: 5/5
This place was so good! The drinks, the food, the vibes! Very welcoming, fast service, food and drinks were huge and delicious ! They even have doggy meals to go that are cooked up hot. We got a small one for our dog. Definitely recommend stopping here!
Big Bear Lake, the Azteca Grill. I had the Abondigas soup for $11.00. an excellent portion with 2 ex-large meatballs, vegetables, rice and the broth was delicious. Expect to pay $20 to $30 a person. My waiter was Noha and did it right.Parking: Small parking lot and could full up quick if super busy.
Don't recommend this place. Food is tasteless and way overpriced. You don't have much choice you're in Big Bear baby.
We were craving a Mexican dinner & stopped at the Hacienda but they had closed their patio due to the earlier rain (never mind that the sun was now shining & the patio and chairs/tables were all dry). The Luna Grill did not even have a patio outdoors (under reconstruction?). Azteca fit the bill nicely! We sat outside on the patio with its shade coverings and string lights looking up at the tall pine trees. The restaurant is off the beaten path and clearly more of a locals only place which we liked as well. Good food, prompt service & attentive wait staff plus live music! We loved the spinach enchiladas and the chicken enchiladas. Good salsa!
Overall we had an ok visit. The food is ok. we would have enjoyed a bit more if it had more spice and heat, a little more authentic Mexican. The customer service was good. We were bummed out that we they don't accept the yelp discount on the weekends with no management available to approve discount. They have an outside dining area with plenty of seating and patio heaters. The live music was a welcomed bonus. We enjoyed the drinks more than anything else. Great for drinks!
Deliciosos!!! Ordene la fajita y estaba mejor que nunca. El servicio fue muy bueno también.
I REALLY wanted to like this place but overall, it just wasn't good. At all. The staff is friendly (but they were understaffed which led to looong wait times for everything). This is isn't their fault so I won't complain about it. The drinks were good, had a pina colada that was delicious. The food on the other hand, was absolutely TERRIBLE. My husband found strips of cardboard in his enchiladas, my enchiladas had little to no flavor and just weren't good. Enchiladas are my go to when I try New Mexican restaurants because they're difficult to get wrong, but man, these enchiladas were bad. We ordered chicken nuggets and fries for our toddler. Can't mess those up, right? WRONG! They were so hard I actually hit them on the table, so needless to say he only ate a couple of fries and that's it. With all that said, my advice to anyone thinking of eating here: go for the chips and salsa and drinks. It has a great ambience for that but if you want good food, this place is just not it.
Noah was great. He greeted us and seated us right away. Food was delicious and good sized servings. Would definitely go back when we visit Big Bear again.
I was getting ready to write a review of this Amazing restaurant and realized I had written one 7 years ago, I'm very happy to report that this place is still top notch!! I wish I could give them 10 stars, seriously don't understand why they don't have 5 stars....in San Diego, this would absolutely be a 5 star establishment, let me explain why.....when you approach the restaurant you are greeted by a friendly and polite host who escorts you into your choice of a bright festive patio, where there just happened to be some great live music playing, or a clean and also festive dining room. Noah our super friendly waiter brought delicious chips and salsa almost immediately after we sat down and then took our drink order and brought out our drinks very quickly. The menu is expansive, with any option of traditional Mexican food you could hope for. After ordering, our food came out very quickly, and it was hot and delicious. As we were enjoying our meal I noticed a woman stopping by each table inquiring on how the food was, when she came by our table we chatted for awhile and found out Rosa is the owner of the restaurant. She obviously takes pride in her business and it shows in the attitude of her employees and the quality of the food. The very best part was that when she found out we were on vacation in Big Bear for my sons 15th birthday, she and her staff sang a very special birthday song to him, and brought him a Sundae complete with sparklers and a sombrero, and it was seriously the highlight of his whole birthday trip!! We will make sure it's not 7 years before we make it back again!! Thank you Rosa, and Noah for a wonderful dining experience.
The quality seems to have gone down at a favorite restaurant, Azteca Grill. The good news? They give large portions. The bad news? It's all bland. My fish tacos had no seasoning, nor did my husband's carne asada chimichanga. The salsa was more tomato sauce than salsa. Service was very good.
This review is for an online order pick up: I wish I would have taken pictures. We ordered a side of fries, a bean cheese and rice burrito, and an albóndiga soup. They also added salsa and chips in our to go boxes. The staff were kind enough to call us when we were on our way to let us know the order was ready. The website also made it super simple to order. The soup recipe was different than the one we make at home but it was delicious. It was filled with veggies and they even added rice, cilantro, and chopped onion on the side to add to the soup. The meatballs were huge! And the broth was super tasty! The fries, had we ate them when they came out would have been bomb. Because they were in the container they did get a little soggy but that's on us. We tried to eat them in the car on the way back home before they were too soft lol The burrito was bomb. When you add the salsa verde and the sauce from the chips it was even more bomb. The tortilla was soft and the beans were really good. The salsa for the chips was not spicy but full of flavor. High key coming back and planning on eating at the restaurant next time! (:
Best Mexican food in big bear. We have been coming here since they opened. Rose, Arturo, and the entire staff have worked non stop perfecting everything since day one. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, great prices. Try Azteca Grill. You will love it.
Really big margaritas, excellent service, great food. A nice place to get away from the crowds in the Village area.
