They were very accommodating to our party of 30! I ordered the candied pecans salad and a cup of potato soup!! Both were delicious the wifi did go out after we ordered so it took a little bit to get our order, but their great customer service made up for it!
We were in the Big Bear Lake area for some fun in the snow. On the last day, we were looking for a good breakfast place but most of the restaurants were in the downtown Big Bear lake area. Given that it is Ski/Snowboard season, there was heavy traffic leading to the downtown area and we did not want to sit through traffic for breakfast. Luckily, we saw Country Kitchen. Located on the main road entering town, they're located before the downtown area where all the traffic is. So we were able to get to this place on the way out of town avoiding all traffic. It's a nice and cozy place with a small town vibe. Staff was very friendly, coffee was good, and the wait wasn't too long. They do seem popular so there maybe some wait time depending on when you go. As for the menu, there is wide variety of items so I'm sure most can find something to they're in the mood for. We ended up getting fried chicken and waffles, and the pork chops. The fried chicken was delicious. Perfectly fried and accompanied well with the provided maple syrup. The portion was also very generous and looked to be almost half of a small chicken. There was a leg, thigh, and breast so was just short the wing. The pork chop also was very tasty and their was a generous portion which consisted of 2 chops. All-in-all, both breakfasts had plenty to share. To sum it up, really happy to have found this place. We will definitely be coming back here on our next visit to try some of the other items on the menu. Give them a try!
We love this place. A great family restaurant. The services is great. Our waitress, Faith was amazing. She provide awesome service, and made us feel so welcomed. I recommend this restaurant hands down.
Rosie was amazing!!!! The hot chocolate was the best we ever had. The homemade whip cream sprinkled with cinnamon was a hit with everyone. If you are down for a quiet, local, friendly place to enjoy home ooming.....stop in and ask for Rosie!!!!!Food: 5/5
We took a spontaneous day trip, thought we try Country Kitchen. We are so glad we did. We were welcomed right when we walked in, no wait and the food was delicious, bathrooms are clean, as well as the surrounding areas. They also had nice Christmas music playing.
We stopped for lunch on a snowy day. We were looking for a cozy place outside of the craziness and traffic of the village. I believe this will became one of our regular places. Very cozy enviroment, with a wide selection of food, good for every taste, diners style, and great staff and service. Highly recommended.
Food was delicious and the service was great! This is a great little gem in Big Bear. We happened to stumble upon it on the way home and so glad we did! Thanks again!
Its a little place...that felt cozy....warm...service was great...I ordered chicken and waffles...it was so delicious....I would go again..Food: 5/5
Great service!! I had the waffle egg and bacon platter for breakfast. The waffle was crispy yet soft in the middle the way I like it. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture. The eggs were scrambled with a bacon slices on the side. I would give it a 5 but I'm a tough critic. :-)
I really wanted to like this place but did not make the cut to what I was use to at Grind n Grill. The only reason we chose to go, it was only 12 mins. from our cabin. Prices were the usual high of $15-19 depending what you order. The coffee was so so, they offered other flavored coffee, but served only with milk but I can't drink milk. Best part was the wait was not that long, played country music which was quite nice since it's called Country Kitchen. Food is obviously my next complaint, the waffle with chicken was what I really wanted To try, however the waffle was dry and it was toasted. I wish it was slightly soft and crispy just a little bit. It was quite disappointing, now the chicken was OK, after all it is fried chicken but nothing special to it. At least they gave a lot of pieces, the chicken wings the leg and thigh. It was delicious nonetheless. Now my boyfriend's meal they unfortunately added ham and he did not want ham. The omelette was not as good as I thought. The cleanliness of bathrooms and the restaurant seemed like it was renovated which helped make it a very decent place to try. It is not bad for large group but maybe just one large group. The views outside in the winter was very relaxing to see trees and a bit of snow.
The perfect country feel restaurant with an extensive menu and down home feel. I highly recommend the loaded potato soup and the spicy crispy chicken sandwich! Our server was Faith who was so attentive and sweet. We enjoyed the food and all the choices on the menu we came back the next day! Today I had the Aztec Burger...delicious. Our server today was MJ and let me say she is truly the epitome of a thoughtful server. Rosie the manager was kind enough to come visit us at our table. Don't forget the pies, we had the Forest Berry Pie!!
Best breakfast country fried steak I've had in years. It didn't hurt my stomach like other places and didn't feel heavy at all after. I literally ate it all and it was a huge plate. The food was excellent, service was amazing truly the best servers they hustle! Very busy so if you want it make sure you get there early or come with some coffee and worth the wait if any! Definitely worth the wait! Clean, music playing very family oriented fabulous! Brought my mom here for a visit and she was satisfied as well thanks guys!
Great little stop during our Halloween trip to the Big Bear area. Awesome vibe to the restaurant, friendly staff, and a huge selection from the menu. Our food was yummy... But the sandwiches were missing a flavor or something. Would definitely come again, when we visit the area.
All the food I got was amazing, the chicken and waffle wasn't around long enough to snap a photo kids murdered the chocolate pancakes & the rest is history.
We went there for breakfast on a whim and not only were we greatly surprised, the food taste, quality and presentation was so far beyond our expectations, we’re going back in the morning again and tomorrow night for dinner. It is truly a classic style family restaurant with food that reminds my of my grandma. A real down home meal that will please the most discerning palate. They offer some very unique dishes, like hash browns with cheese, real bacon bits and green onions all in the hash browns while they cook them up. The meat lovers omelette was so good, I can’t wait to go back. I was told to try the baby back ribs with onion rings when we go back. Can hardly wait.
