The Short Story: Bay Area Builders did a wonderful job of tearing down and rebuilding an unsafe garage and family room/bedroom to our old farmhouse. They also added a much needed second bathroom to our home. The Bay Area Builders crew (Steve, Walt, Jay, Mike) were knowledgeable, efficient and skilled. Every subcontractor (plumbers, painters, concrete, roofers, flooring) was outstanding as well. We couldn't be happier with the end result. The Long Story: We had plans, permits, a POD in the driveway, everything moved out of the garage and family room, ready to go. A week before the project was to begin, our long time, wonderful contractor suddenly passed away. His son put us in contact with Mike Lucido of Bay Area Builders. Mike stepped in, accepted our previous contract, worked with the city and was able to begin work a week or so later. Mike is very easy to work with, open to suggestions and changes. Throughout this sudden change in contractors, a pandemic that made obtaining materials difficult, the job has been completed. We couldn't be happier with our "new" house and the work Bay Area Builders did for us. Thanks.

I highly recommend Paradise Construction. Tony and his crew repaired 2 leaking vinyl block windows in my master bedroom and saved me thousands of dollars as I did not have to buy new windows. Tony is very honest and really knows construction. His crew was on time and did a great repair job and cleaned up nicely afterwards. Thank you Tony and Juan Carlos for doing an excellent job.

Got a cold call on my work phone from one of their "sales" reps saying they were giving away free estimates. Mind you, I work for a construction company as a project manager. When I told him this was a work phone he was very rude. When I told him to take me off his list, hung hung up on me. I don't have any projects going right now but if I did, I wouldn't even think about calling this company based on the interaction

YELP just deleted my positive review and great experiences from mike and his team. They've worked on 2 properties, one in Pittsburg and one in Concord. They have a great team & aweome craftsmanship.

Repeated cold calls from these guys. Every time I ask them not to call me, they hang up before I can finish my sentence. They are truly, truly awful people. If they were any good, they wouldn't be cold calling repeatedly, they'd get business the old fashioned way, by doing business that people want to refer them for. Don't hire them. Stay away.

Just had Tony and has crew complete a job at my place. I am super happy at how communicative they were , the quality of work , the punctuality of the crew. They completed the job as projected , explained everything before we started and nicely cleaned up after the job was done. Super satisfied and highly recommended !

Tony and his crew are reliable, trustworthy & do a quality job. As an insurance adjuster for a major insurance company, I recommend this contractor to my customers who have had water damage to their home.

Tony knows construction and deserves serious consideration for any project. His crew can do interior repairs, framing, drywall, carpentry, cabinetry, trim, finish, paint--you name it. I'm also a general contractor and recommend using a licensed, experienced professional and get the job done right the first time with a guarantee. Tony has earned this review after completing many jobs all over the bay area over the last five years. Not a single complaint on any of them! Be smart. Call Tony.

Terrible experience the owner is the problem. Started fine then he would squeeze in small parts of projects over months. Estimate of 5 days and 3 weekends was nearly 4 months and quit unfinished when he had his employees squeeze an old door with a repaired crack into a smaller opening and half the molding on one side. Looked terrible and I was paying for a new door and the owner yelled at me insistenting I ordered his guy to put a bigger door in the space when I wasn't there and had opposite discussion including offering at the onset to go buy the door myself and therefore had a text to confirm the smaller size, plus he came over before installation to check to get the right size door. They left part of wall untextured near tub and shower not completed, which we had to complete. In attic I recently found they did not vent the bathroom fan to the outside. I now need to fix that. In addition, I had to endure the owner yelling at me on the phone when I asked for him to correct something or putting in something required like the gfi outlets which I stated upfront and his own employee had tell him it was required, yet he stilled yelled at me 20 min. Over $60 expense he should have known. The tile guy, not his regular person, was great to work with and did awesome work. The employees were all professional and polite. The owner is the problem and directs the work. I do not recommend.

We had Paradise Construction redo a bathroom, install a "whole house fan" for us and also redo ceiling beams in the house. They showed great attention to detail, and finished up the job with the areas looking better than what they did before - a great job! Will always call them first!
