The food is still excellent. The atmosphere is still very classy. The service though??? Horrible!!! It's gone completely downhill. So, a few years ago this used to be one of me and my husband's favorite spots, but then covid happened, and we forgot about it for a while. So when we were planning on where to go for Valentine's Day we decided to revisit our old favorite...we are now regretting our choice.Omg...it is nothing like it used to be! There was literally one waiter (who was also playing bar tender) for the whole restaurant! Not even joking! One waiter! One!!! We came in at 6:30 and didn't get our check until 8:50. It was a half an hour wait just to put in our order! We were also kept waiting forever for our entrees, kept waiting another twenty+ minutes after that for our dessert, and after that it was an extremely long wait for the check. If this is how they're running things now I have no interest in ever coming back. It put a huge damper on our Valentine's Day date. From looking at a few other recent reviews, this wasn't an accidental staffing misshap either. This is just how the place operates now. If the owner can't afford to hire more staff, patrons should at least be warned when making a reservation. I made a reservation for Valentine's Day well in advance and wasn't warned that they were now operating on a skeleton crew, wich pisses me off. We spent over $200 for an extremely frustrating experience. Never again.

Scottie's is an outstanding place to celebrate a special event - birthday, anniversary, holidays. The food is amazing and tasty; the atmosphere is relaxing; the service is topnotch with Scottie treating his guests like royalty. Try it!! You won't be disappointed ??Parking: We always seem to find a spot for early dinnertime. Not sure about later in the evening.

We just went to Scotties in Brentwood this last weekend for a birthday dinner. There were 4 of us and we all had a wonderful time. Scottie is a one of a kind. He runs the whole show all by himself. Not sure if there's kitchen help but he runs the whole dining room alone. The food was wonderful. The girls had duck confit. I had the cioppino and my buddy had the filet & shrimp. They were all delicious. The atmosphere was very relaxing and very enjoyable with good friends and a pianist playing mood music in the background. If you just want to go eat quickly, this may not be the best place for you. This is more of a dining experience. Plan for at least a couple of hours for the whole evening. Ours was closer to 3 hours but we all walked out happy and full. It was so good we're trying to get on his New Years Eve dinner list.

Pleasant atmosphere and great service. However, the food (I had the Calamari - Prawn Special. My wife had the Chicken Cordon Bleu.) was underwhelming. Locally sourced vegetables well 'cooked' al dente style. Calamari had a corn and cherry tomato salsa that was bland. Prawns were overcooked and cold when served (I ate first). The Chicken Cordon Bleu was over cooked (bottom of crust was burned) while the chicken, ham, cheese filling was luke warm. Reheated in a pan that was too hot, for too brief a time to sufficiently heat the interior before burning the bottom crust?Best of the food served was the fresh peach, shaved almond garnished green salad with Champagne vinegaret dressing. Too bad the entrees were so disappointing. Especially since the prices were scewed towards the high end (like a high-end Napa restaurant, where we lived for 25 years before moving to Brentwood five years ago).We will not be returning to Scottie's/Shutters Brasserie.

We were looking forward to a delicious french meal and arrived at the restaurant to find that there was only one couple in the restaurant. The lighting was dark and subdued. There was one waiter/hostess tending to the seated couple. After several minutes (first red flag) the waiter/host decided to ask us if we'd like a table. We responded that we would like a table for two. He then proceeded to ask for our name and phone number. Given the fact that there was no one else in the restaurant, I did not see the need to give him my number. My privacy is important to me. When I refused to give him my phone number, he yelled at me to leave and go eat somewhere else. He continued to yell as he walked away. This is not the way you treat your customers!!!! He was an angry little man that should not be allowed to deal with the public. We left the premises and will never ever go to this place again!!!

What a shame to drive to Scottie's Shutters Brasserie only to turn around and look for somewhere else to eat. This isn't the first time I've seen the website advertising they're open for lunch when they aren't. I guess you can't rely on the website. The food reviews look good, sometimes I don't think to call ahead when in the area. Maybe some day, but not today I guess.

I was trying to make a reservation. For 12 people and the owner is very rude and tactless on how he explains how their reservation works and when I tried to confirm what he said he told me that I don’t get it and just clearly told me “ I’m 60 yrs old and you need to slow down but on the other hand I will not take you and your party and hang up on me. Just bec there’s only 2 of them working he cannot answer the phone calls and be overwhelmed and rude.

The food is excellent. My French wife appreciated it (she's stereotypically picky with french restaurants).Service was great. It's a nice place, but nothing amazing. Will definitely be back. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner out.

It was 6:30 on a Friday night and hubby & I were looking for a nice restaurant for dinner. We try to at least eat at new (to us) places every few months to see what we have around us. After reading the menu, we were intrigued and after a quick glance at reviews, we called to see if reservations were needed. The gentleman answered at the same time as the machine and immediately was able to offer us a reservation for 7:30. He did ask if we had any allergies and also if we were new customers. We admitted to being new and there were no issues from the owner with that being the case. I could see in other reviews that was possibly an issue...but what we found during our meal was that it seemed to be tied around the individual attention given to the table from the owner. Dinner was 2 hours from arrival to leaving. Tables were filled, with one table between each party. We were given several table options, and we opted for one in the piano area, in the corner. That was a personal choice because we always like to keep our eye on the front door. We were immediately offered bottle water, sparkling water and tap water. We chose tap, because we already knew we would be choosing another beverage shortly. It arrived with ice in wine glasses and was kept filled throughout the whole meal. Menus had been given at sit down and the evenings specials were given. Even though we had already made decisions based on the online menu, we immediately opted for one of the appetizer specials and one of the dinner specials. We were then offered garlic bread, which based on reviews, we readily agreed to. First out was a garlic, chili flake, olive oil, balsamic mixture with some other seasonings, which he explained at the table. A few minutes later it was followed by a bowl of amazingly flavored garlic bread on what appeared to be a thinly slice of focaccia bread (best guess), but it was insanely delicious in flavors. Our appetizers arrived within a few minutes of the garlic bread being eaten and calamari and a roasted beet salad arrived beautifully presented. Fresh ground pepper offered to both of us. The beauty of the food was nothing compared to the flavors and textures. The local farm vegetables and seafood were spot on and generously portioned. Appetizers complete, dishes immediately whisked away and we had some really nice downtime to enjoy the music and watch the interactions with the two other tables in our room. One a known customer and another, an intimate birthday celebration. The owner handled each table individually and took the time to check with each of us during the delivery of each course. The birthday couple had dessert delivered and the owner sang "happy birthday" personally and ourselves and the other table joined in. Just a simple, basic, gesture and one where we actually didn't feel obligated to join in song, but it felt right in the moment due to the atmosphere around. Dinners arrived, a meatloaf with a mashed potato and sautéed spinach for my husband and a chicken cordon bleu, amazing pesto sauce (and I dislike 90% of pesto on anything), whipped potatoes and seasonal fresh vegetables for myself. The meals were exceptional and my husband cleared his plate and started sneaking from mine because I was full. When the owner came back, he offered to box my leftovers and due to being full...we asked if it was possible to get dessert to go. Zero issues and both were ready in just a few moments. Our check came out and we were pleasantly surprised because it was less than we anticipated and on par with some of the lesser quality restaurants in the area. Overall, this is a place for a relaxing dinner, not one that is rushed. Two hours from seating to leaving...but nothing felt rushed and it was so nice to sit and enjoy a meal and not feel obligated to get out for the next table to be filled. It will now become a regular in our rotation due to the very hands on and attentive service directly from the owner. Such a pleasant change in today's world of order food on an app and go go go. The owner made it even better. We c

Delicious meal, server was very knowledgeable. Must have reservations, due to Covid they only have 2 people working. We witnessed a couple being turned away due to no reservations. Hopefully they rebound and are able to seat a full house soon.

I came away from this one with a positive impression. Food was good-to-very good. They were understaffed and that was evident in the service. Not terrible service but a little slow and rather inattentive. A little pricey for Brentwood.
