Going to the new deal is always a wonderful treat. The food is delicious. The staff are very kind and attentive and the atmosphere is very cozy yet lively.I will say that their salads are delicious, but the french fries are star spangled awesome, and the cakes, that are homemade by the team, are to die for!!?? Parking: Most areas around are 2 hour free street parking. Just mind the signs as there are street cleaning days! You might need to park further down the street as Magnolia is a popular place to be!

I was a fan of this restaurant and decided to take mother out for a Friday night dinner, but I had one of the most racist, horrible experiences of my life at this restaurant. My mom and I were accosted by another patron, who drank our drink from off our table and got hostile in our faces while repeatedly hitting my mom in the arm. The patron even started yelling at times. Not wanting to make a scene and trying to deescalate a situation where we felt unsafe, we repeatedly tried to alert our server as it was happening and did mention that we were uncomfortable. Still, no one intervened. The entire situation lasted over 30 minutes. We tried to explain to ownership what happened and the restaurant is very small, so it’s hard to imagine that ownership hadn’t noticed that at the very least this situation was peculiar. However, it seemed as if ownership did not understand or really care that much about the gravity of the situation. My family and I will not be returning.

Had happy hour specials here on a Saturday which was much appreciated! The mimosas were pretty strong so be careful! The food options were good and more filling than expected, would do the tater tots and pickles again!

Great place for a vegetarian/vegan. The atmosphere is amazingly awesome. They played great music, and service comes with a smile. The vegan Sloppy Joe burger is amazingly delicious.

This restaurant has become a favorite of mine and my friends within the last year. I have lived in Burbank my whole life and can't believe I have never been here to dine. The staff is so friendly and fun to chat with. There is never a rush they are more than happy to stop by your table for a few words of conversation. We've gotten to know some by name and always enjoy their company. There is indoor seating, tables that line the front of the building on the sidewalk, and a back patio with picnic tables (currently under construction). The decoration inside is so classy and relaxing. The hodgepodge of silverware that is on the table is always fun to examine. Your check is delivered in an old book. It's so fun to flip through the pages and even read a paragraph or two. This restaurant is great for groups as well as an intimate setting for two.The food is made fresh and delicious. If you are ever unhappy with anything they will always make it right by you. Some of my favorites are the grilled cheese sandwich, meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, fries, chips, and tater tots with garlic aioli dip. Brunch is served only on Sundays until 2:00pm.Always check out their specials when they have them (they can be found on a separate menu). I have had some of the best steak cooked to melt-in-your-mouth perfection.Don't forget dessert! There is a featured cake for each day. The cake is baked fresh and served until it's gone. Some of the favorites I have had are the red velvet, carrot cake, chocolate, and lemon blueberry. They also have banana pudding, cholate mousse, and deep fried Oreos with ice cream. We have been here until closing many times and are never made to feel rushed out the door.I always leave full and happy. I will continue to recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a fresh meal with a relaxing atmosphere.

Terrific food and servers but they charge for drink refills. Not the standard for US restaurants- I don’t return to restaurants that charge for drink refills.

Been going to the place for years. The food remains consistent. It is a wonderful place to bring family, work, colleagues, friends. The setting is intimate . And there is a seating area that’s lovely as well outside the food. Like I said is very consistent. I love the Roosevelt burger, I love love, love the tomato soup. Very fresh! My son loves the chicken sandwich, and the fries. You have choices, vegan, vegetarian, and those of us that like cheeseburgers you have a choice. They have a wine list. It’s cozy, you can upscale dress if you want. Or you can dress down. It is an amazing place to go during Christmas. I’ve been to a few of their parties that have taken over the entire restaurant. The staff is lovely. And the food is cooked to order. They have desserts. I am yet to try because I’m not a dessert eater but it looks tempting.I highly recommend this especially if you’re walking the streets of Magnolia. It is a wonderful break to take at New Deal.

I never write bad reviews but this awkward exchange made me feel like I should. I ordered strawberry milkshakes online after searching for "good milkshakes in Burbank". After ordering I got a call about 5 minutes later that there was no Strawberry left and had to choose between Vanilla Bean and Double Chocolate. I settled for Vanilla and asked for maybe a caramel swirl to which she replied "We're pretty basic here". Ok that's fine.I get there and scoop the milkshakes up and get to the car and they taste like nothing. Like, literally nothing. And I like vanilla milkshakes, but they should taste like SOMETHING. And we had already paid and tipped and thought, maybe we should just get a refund. So we go back inside and politely let the girl behind the counter know that there's no flavor or anything to the milkshakes. And we could already tell she didn't want to deal with us once we walked back in and she responded with an attitude "that's what i told him on the phone" ... and that's all she said. She didn't offer a refund or ask how to make it better. Vanilla doesn't taste like nothing ma'am. We added chocolate syrup to one of the milkshakes but ultimately they just tasted like cheap gross store bought ice cream and flat milk. So we threw them out.The place is beautiful though. I wanted to come back and try the food sometime but the interaction with the woman left a bad taste in our mouths. Luckily, one (of two customers dining in that night) leaned in and whispered "Should have gone to Big Boy's Diner" .. which we did immediately after. I know this restaurant/wine bar shouldn't have been the go-to spot for a milkshake but certainly expected something better than what we we're given. Including better service.
