I was pretty impressed with my visit to Royal Donut Cafe. I didn't come for their donuts, but for their breakfast and they had some of the best country fried steak I've had a in a while. The interior is very dated so that might turn some people off, but they are expanding the restaurant and taking over the space next door. They said that there is a possibility that they open for dinner in the future too. Staff were very friendly as well. Parking in the area is certainly a pain in the area, but there are paid parking lots near by. Country Fried Steak & Eggs ($15.95) was what I ordered and it was massive. I was stuffed after eating it and the steak had the perfect breading. The sausage gravy was very tasty and the hash browns were also a large portion. The eggs they also cooked really well and they don't overcook them like I accidently do at home because I love runny eggs. It is definitely worth a visit here although I have no input on their donuts or pastries personally. Their breakfast is top tier though and you get large portions. Would recommend this breakfast spot to anyone in the area.

You want to talk about good? Foods doesn't get better, people don't get nicer, and atmosphere doesn't get any more classic than this! Go get a scramble and a donut, you won't regret it! (Not pictured, the four donut holes that didn't last long) ?Parking: There's lots of parking all around!

The donuts are always good but I was even more impressed with the chorizo breakfast burrito. I've tried a lot of breakfast burritos in the area and Royal Donut's surprisingly may be the best one. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Old school diner cafe vibes with limited seating but go for the light, airy, chocolate donut. Will not disappoint.

This is a hidden gem!! I walked past because I thought it was just donuts. Went back twice in a few days! Chicken fried steak was great. Biscuits and gravy was ok, still good though. Don't skip the donuts!! Chocolate twist is very good. The apple fritter was top notch! Ate it the next day and it was still crispy. Washed the twist down with the fresh orange juice.

Went for Breakfast Food - 5/5. Country fried steak was tender and meaty with a satisfying crunchy batter. Gravy had a thick consistency that created a dense, creamy texture which moistened the fried dish. Flavor was rich with plenty of black pepper that paired well with the steak. Hash browns had a nice crunch while maintaining the soft bite of potato. Eggs were soft and the rye bread was toasted well. Service - 4/5. Quick and friendly service. Value - 5/5. Breakfast items are reasonably priced being in the low to mid 10s for most items. Most breakfast platters come with choice of eggs, hash browns and toast making for hefty portion sizes. Fantastic breakfast location! Parking - Street (Metered)

I've been visiting the Royal Donut Cafe since 2014 and have always enjoyed the experience. My last visit wasn't up to the standard I've become accustomed to though. I brought my dad and my two young sons for breakfast, and while the food was good, the service was mediocre and our bill got mixed up with another customers'. I let the server know that it wasn't correct because we hadn't been charged for everything we ordered. He traded tickets with the table next to us and returned with a bill for $94.43 which included a 20% gratuity and roughly 10% tax. I generally tip graciously, but with the level of service we received and the fact that the tip was already included, I left with an uneasy feeling about the value of our overall experience this time around.

They make the best cinnamon cake doughnuts! I visit from London at least once every few years and always head here for coffee and doughnuts.

I got the classic eggs Benedict. So so yummy. The pancake was the best I've ever had. Get the country potatoes (vs the hashbrowns); they have more flavor. Good service and reasonable prices.Parking: Pay at meters with a QR codeKid-friendliness: Roomy booths and patient employees

Me and my daughter were in town and wanted to grab some yummy breakfast. Not being from this part of town, so I decided to yelp and found this place. I really wanted to like it because of all the review and popularity, I even discovered that it was family owned. Unfortunately the service was terrible. I ordered the Big Bird which comes with 2 french toast, eggs and saugage or bacon. Which was decent, but I added a side of country potatoes and they came out burnt all around. When I asked for them to be re-made. They brought me out half of what was given at first... So terrible! To top everything off, I sat with an emply coffee cup the entire seating. Maybe this place was outstanding 5 years ago but that is not the case now. When we walked in, no one was there eating. Red Flag! All orders were either for takeout or walk in for donuts. First and last time I will dine here. The only 2 people here and no one ever asked how we were doing or re-filled my coffee.

Locations easy to find and there was plenty street parking out front. The people were friendly and great service. Food was very fresh and the coffee was good. Loved the raised maple

This is my favorite little stop at historical landmark, usually at night, because guys are open 24 hours. Sometimes you can see me there sitting by the window devouring another donut. WHY NOT? Everything about enjoying a donut is almost enchanting, especially around holidays. Their chocolate croissants are the best ones in the area.

Great service and delicious food! I had the breakfast burrito with bacon and added avocado, a must! Loved it!
