Update 06/04/23: I'm sad to update my review, but some change happened at this place, and it's just not the same. The flavors aren't as creative and don't change as often. And the quality has gone downhill. The last two times I've gone, my doughnuts have looked nothing like what they promote on their social media. Barely any toppings and messy. I tried the ube tart, and the crust was raw. This used to be one of my favorite places in OC, but I'm not sure I'll be back.Original review: I tried Fill Bakeshop for the first time on their two year anniversary. I underestimated how popular this place was and ended up waiting in line 1 hour and 20 minutes (I got there 10 minutes before they opened)! But oh were they worth the wait. I lived in Japan for a while so I know a thing or two about mochi doughnuts, and these are spot on! So mochi mochi. The salted potato chip was the best, unfortunately it's not a regular flavor. But I do enjoy watching their Instagram for new flavors (like the pandan one, so good). I would recommend arriving a little bit before they open on the weekends to avoid the line. Parking is also fairly limited, so that's another reason to go early. I love this place and can't believe I waited so long to try it!

YOU HAVE TO TRY THEIR PIE!! It's basically a giant ube egg tart and it is absolutely the best thing there!!

We've come here several times, and it has been consistently delicious. We were excited to see mocha cookies this time too! The donuts have always been so yummy. What I love is the chewy texture, and the sweetness level is never over the top. My favorite flavors are the taro, Oreo, guava. The cookie was the same chewy texture and not too sweet. The prices are a bit high but overall so delicious!

The best mochi donuts I've ever tried! I also really like the texture and taste of their mochi cookies. In addition to being delicious treats for yourself, their donuts and cookies also make great gifts! If you're planning on visiting, I recommend ordering online ahead of time so that your order is ready for pick up once you arrive. I really wish I lived closer to Fill Bakeshop so that I could visit more oftenn, so fingers crossed that they'll open a location in SGV one day :)

I've been wanting to come here for a while because I heard it was good, so naturally I needed to see what the hype was about. I read reviews where people said the line was long and parking was limited, but that was not the issue for us. We went on a Friday afternoon, too. It just depends on your luck. The downside to this place is that they close so early. The mochi donuts are so flavorful and made just right. For instance, if you get matcha, you can definitely taste the flavor of the matcha. I like how strong the flavor is of whatever you order. Overall, this place is worth trying or if you ever need your mochi donut fix!

Honestly some of my favorite donuts. These are mochi donuts so they have a slightly different consistency than a normal fluffy donut. To me they are slightly more chewy and savory than a normal donut. I think this helps them not get to "dried out". They are a bit more pricey than a normal donut and there is always a line. That said, people really love when I buy and share them! They have different flavors like guava cheese cake, cookies and crepe, taro and strawberry chocolate as well as a special rotating flavor. They also have other desserts too that I would love to try but always end up getting donuts . I love this place from the food to the Hawaiian vibe. Check it out!

Delicious mochi donuts! I loved the guava cheesecake one ? we came on a Wednesday morning before 10am and there was no line. It’s a small and cute shop so there’s no space for seating so we ate some donuts in the parking lot

I can't believe I haven't written a review on Fill! Their mochi donuts are #1 in our books!! I really wish they would change their hours though! They aren't open long enough! Usually by the time we get out of the doctors office they are closed! We really love Fill because they are probably one of the only shops that incorporate the flavor into that actual batter!! Most places just use a basic mochi mix and only use glazes/garnishes on top for the "flavor". Somehow they have the freshest, moist mochinuts I've had! I've eaten a lot of donuts so I know when something is fresh and when it isn't! I love the different flavors they come up with on a monthly basis! There isn't anything you won't like at Fill! Except the early hours! Maybe at some point they will consider changing their hours like Sidecar Donuts!! I'm a fan and addicted! ^__^

OMG their mochi donuts and cookies are amazing!!! I've had my eye on this place for a while ever since I've become obsessed with mochi donuts. I was coming to town to visit and decided that I would place my order a few days in advance, this was very convenient for me. I love that you have that option especially when you know they are really popular and can possibly sell out. The store is small but cute, I love the bright décor and it's very lively and inviting. The staff here are very friendly and greet you as soon as you walk in the door. So my order wasn't a small order because I wanted to get a taste of a few things. I ordered: - Guava Cheesecake Mochi Donut - Strawberry Shortcake Mochi Donut - Brown Butter Cinnamon Roll Mochi Donut - Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Mochi Cookie Then also at the last minute when picking up my order I got their Nilla Wafer Dulce Latte since it was early and I needed some coffee. All of the donuts were really good and cooked perfectly, they had that crisp on the outside and were quite chewy how I like them. The Guava Cheesecake was really good and had a nice guava flavor but the cheesecake flavor was on the light side. The Brown Butter Cinnamon Roll was good and it had a nice cinnamon flavor and definitely tasted like a cinnamon roll but better. They were also very flavorful but of the three I think my favorite was the Strawberry Shortcake simply because you got the strawberry flavor throughout the whole doughnut not just in the glaze. Now the Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Mochi Cookie was on a whole different level! This has to be hands down the best cookie I've ever had, the flavor was perfect and it was filled with lots of chocolate chips but the chewiness from the mochi just gave it a great texture and even better taste. I might have enjoyed the cookie more than the donuts lol. The Nilla Wafer Dulce Latte sounded good but I was not a fan, the texture was a bit thick and gritty from the Nilla wafers I'm assuming and I really couldn't get past that. I will definitely try one of their other drinks next time. I highly recommend trying this place, you won't regret it! I will most definitely be back the time I'm in the OC and this may very well be my go to place for mochi donuts out there!

Mochi desserts are the name of the game here! Fill Bakeshop has taken the popular, trendy mochi donut and added their own Asian and Hawaiian-inspired twist. When I heard they not only feature mochi donuts but also cookies, I was so ready to make the trek out here. We ordered the following flavors of mochi donuts: Taro Glazed, Guava Cheesecake, Brown Sugar Milk Tea, Mango Sticky Rice and Haupia Chocolate. It's honestly hard to pick a favorite because we really enjoyed the majority of them. I suppose if I really had to nail down a couple must orders, I'd say get the Taro Glazed and the Guava Cheesecake. I also noticed the fruity flavors had a stronger, more bold flavor than other mochi donut spots I've tried; you can actually taste the fruit versus it being more of a light accent. Also, did anyone say mochi cookies?! We got the Sea Salt Chocolate Chip and Buko Pandan. Both were incredibly delicious and worth an order. These mochi cookies have an extra dense softness with a unique chewy texture. A bit heavy to eat in one sitting but my husband and I grazed on these along with the donuts all weekend long. Wish I lived closer but I'm definitely coming back to try the rest of the tasty flavors!

Around 9 am, the queue and wait time begin. Even though they only allow one purchasing group to enter at a time and it was just around 9:30, we didn't have to wait long. I selected the chocolate chip cookie to try. It was a decent cookie. Extremely soft in the center with somewhat crunchy edges. It's just how I like my cookies. Ours was delivered straight from the oven, and it was delicious. The chocolate pieces had melted and were sticky gooey. With its salinity, the sea salt sprinkled on top balances out the sweetness. I enjoy savory and sweet dishes. 1. POG Juice - It definitely tastes like pineapple, orange, or guava. It was the ideal amount of sweet. For a hot summer day, it's refreshing. Just for this item, I will be coming back. Fortunately, Toast is right next door to this location. so that I may have breakfast there and then quickly stop by for a drink to go afterward. DELICIOUS 5/5 Stars 2. Chocolate Chip Cookie - It was a decent cookie. Extremely soft in the center with somewhat crunchy edges. It's just how I like my cookies. Ours was delivered straight from the oven, and it was delicious. The chocolate pieces had melted and were gooey. With its salinity, the sea salt sprinkled on top balances out the sweetness. I enjoy savory and sweet dishes. They have more specialized tastes that I'd really like to sample. I'll update this post when I do. 3.5/5 stars

I drove 45 minutes all the way to their location in Costa Mesa thinking that they would have everything available in their store front. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find out that the ube crunch cake was only available at their pop-up in Chino on the weekends. Soooo sad. They had a special on mochi cookies which was buy 5, get 1 free. So, naturally, I bought way more than I came in for. Haha. I got 6 mochi cookies (Viet Coffee French Toast, 3 Sea Salt Chocolate Chip, Buko Pandan, and strawberry shortcake) and the chocolate haupia crunch cake. My favorite mochi cookie was the sea salt chocolate chip. The buko pandan and the strawberry shortcake both had a nice subtle flavor, not too overpowering. I wasn't a fan of the viet coffee French toast cookie. I definitely recommend getting the chocolate haupia crunch cake though. The chocolate was silky smooth and the crust was buttery and delicious. Additional notes: -Be prepared to wait. I went on a Tuesday afternoon so there were only two people in line but it still took a long time to help each guest. I can only imagine how long the wait is when the line is super long. -Parking is very limited, even at odd hours. My husband dropped me off and had to drive around until a paining spot opened up.

Cute bake shop with unique donut flavors~ Parking is tricky here since there's a small lot for the amount of stores. The shop itself is small, no seating. Fill bake shop has variety of mochi donut flavors and cookies. We got the mango sticky rice, hokkaido cheesecake, and chocolate chip cookie ($2.95 each). Mango sticky rice had crunchy rice flakes on top, with mango glaze, texture of donut was fluffy and chewy, not overly sweet. The hokkaido cheesecake was also fluffy and a good cheezy flavor with black tea. Would love to try their drinks mg next visit~

We were actually heading to brunch next door at Toast when we passed Fill and noticed a line hanging out the door...if there's a line, there is a good chance it's worth it. First time trying mochi donuts and these are my thoughts. They were soft, light, and less sweet than traditional donuts. Fill offers a variety of unique flavors and they are the perfect sharing donut because of the shape. It's like 8-donut holes connected to one another. Cut them into individual balls or just have fun eating them one bite at a time by yourself. Mix and match donuts, cookies, and a couple cake-like options. You can purchase pans and mix if you fancy making these at home!

Wow I am really amazed by the flavors they have!!! Very different from the traditional flavors but you will love them. The texture is very soft but tender. I recommend the guava cheesecake, strawberry shortcake, and blueberry ones.Plenty of parking.
