My wife and I go to these cooking classes and absolute love them! The chefs teaching the classes are incredible and it's just a fun class. Expensive but well worth it!

My mom and I came in to get supplies for Christmas cookies and were so happy with the help we got from Seth! He gave us several tips and made for such a fun shopping experience. Thank you Seth!

Went in to return an online purchase today. 5 people standing behind the register and no one wanted to help because it was a return. They kept pushing for the next associate to assist. An older woman reluctantly stepped forward with a massive attitude. Not sure how Sur La Table trains their employees, but dealing with returns are a norm for a retail store. We wanted to return a pan that was way too big for a smaller size. However, with all the unhelpful employees, we will take our business somewhere else.

I have taken a couple cooking classes at this location, and really enjoyed. However, today, I had a delightful experience while shopping. Chimele talked with me about my cheesecake pan options, and even talked me through how to use one (it ended up being the pan I bought). She was patient and kind. I also then decided I needed a few more things. So, funny, I only went in for the pan. Hilda was a delight while I was checking out. Excellent guest service is ALWAYS appreciated by me. I'll be back.

LIP Service NOT Customer Service!!I ordered some dishware online a few minutes before their customer service phone line opened. I used Paypal for payment and immediately realized after I confirmed my PayPal that it was going to ship to my own address rather than allow me to add a shipping address to the order. This was a gift and I wanted it sent to a family member. I called the customer (no)service line and the person told me that it was being processed and that I could not change it. I responded that it was Sunday and there was no way it was already being processed as I had just ordered it 5 minutes ago. I was told that my option was to change it thru UPS and have it re-routed but it could not be changed. It was obvious at that point that there was no customer service and they are just reading a script. I asked for a supervisor to call me back and was told I would receive a call within 24 hours. I am still waiting for that call..... I called back the next day and had to wait 35 minutes before someone came on the line. Again, I was told there was no way to change the order even though it had not shipped yet and that once I received an email stating it had been shipped, I could re-route it with UPS. A few days later I received that email with a tracking number. After getting on the UPS website and going thru the steps to re-route, the charge to do so was going to be more than the cost of the items (approximately $80), so, decided it would be best to let it come to me instead. Now, here I am 4 days later on Christmas day and when I look at the tracking link, it still says the label has been created but there is still no movement on the actual shipping. I will NEVER use this company again and I hope others will learn from my experience that their service is horrible. Perhaps someone in management will finally figure out that they are losing lots of business. I wish I had read all of the negative reviews before I purchased. And, apparently, you can only return by going to one of their stores which are nowhere near where I live. What a joke. Lesson sadly learned.

My boyfriend took me here for a surprise date and we participated in the couples cooking class, specifically the "Fresh & Flavorful Thai" class. I was super excited to do this as I love cooking and I've never done a cooking class before. To my surprise, because me and my partner were on the younger side of all the other couples, we felt like we were being treated a bit differently :/. Also the couple who was supposed to be cooking with us on the same side of the table did not come to the class, so we had more things to do and felt behind throughout the whole class. The instructor was also slightly condescending towards us. She kept telling us that we were doing things wrongs and giving our prep work to other couples, instead of guiding us as an instructor should. At the end of the class though, we felt that she had become a lot nicer and was probably just scolding us the way teachers do.. but for the price of this class, we felt the hostility was not necessary! Overall, the food tasted pretty good but nothing outstanding. I do recommend this for couples who are looking for a fun date night (but prepared to be put to work)!

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE! If the item is lost, they will give you the run around!I odered online on Nov30 for a set of knives as a Christmas present for a girlfriend. It indicated that the item was delivered but but my girlfriend did not receive it. I called customer service and filed a claim on UPS. UPS went to investigate and close the case as Lost. I called customer service and they can't do anything. They asked me to wait for another 48 hours for management to reply to me, it is now December 13. They don't have an option for someone to sign it upon delivery and they don't have any other options available to guarantee that the recipient will receive the item so again do not order online if you do do it at your risk because they will give you a runaround, I don't see any positive result on this investigation.

My actual rating would be zero. I received an online order broken. I tried calling customer service 3 times to get a replacement and never got through. I even called one of the stores and was told I had to call customer service. I filled out a detailed form on their website and only received an automated message back that I would be contacted in 2 days. I don't live near a store. I ended up calling my credit card company and made a complaint. The charge was taken off my statement. I would not recommend giving them your business.

It doesn't seem to matter which Sur La Table location you visit, they are all the same. Rude and obnoxious people working at them! We came in early during the month of December to look at all the Christmas products in the store. We walked in and instantly heard extremely loud yelling coming from the back of the store. We looked around, puzzled; who and why would there be such loud yelling in a cooking store?! As we made our way through the store, we got closer to the back where the cooking classes are held. There was a class in session and the teacher of the class was literally yelling about the food they were making. It was so loud, it was ear shattering! We couldn't even hold a conversation amongst ourselves while we were in the store. All you could hear was a woman screaming about buttercream! Absolutely obnoxious! There is no way I could ever take a cooking class here if you are being "taught" to cook food by way of screamo lady! Unbelievable!!! To top off this shopping experience, no matter where we went in the store, we were somehow in the way of the employees stocking shelves. We were followed all through the store by people stocking shelves or rearranging shelves. They would stop one foot behind us and start messing with items on the shelves. They gave us very little personal space. It was very odd! Left the store empty handed and will most likely not be back to this store!

I wouldn't call myself an experienced cook but I kind of know my way around the kitchen. But this cooking class opened my eyes to so many things I didn't know. The Sur La table gift card was a gift from our aunt, and so we decided to use it for a cooking class which cost around $180. Even tho this class was a gift, I would definitely pay to go back and for another cooking class. Before attending the class, we received instructions on where to park, how to dress, and what to expect during the class. The store is located at the South Coast Plaza, the entrance is located off of Bear Street. The parking was easy to find, and near the entrance. The actual cooking class is in the back of the Sur La Table store. Our chef for the class was Chef Ivy / and her assistant Tracy. We learned that Chef Ivy had just moved back from France not too long ago and shared some of her culinary background with us. She was even in a Cupcake Wars episode on Food NetworkWe had an autumn party dinner-Baked Brie en croute w/ apricot jam, hearty green winter salad w/ fennel, Parmesan, and white balsamic vinaigrette, herb crusted pork loin with maple cider glaze sauce, and a Maple Crème brûlée for dessert. It was Just four of us and so we all worked as a group and had a part in everything. Me and the hubby learned a lot about sauces, spices, temperature, cooking times and other good things to remember. Everyone was friendly and helpful and chef Ivy found a way to include everyone in the preparation of making dinner. The hubby loved it and The ladies that were paired with us kept telling him now he needs to make me Creme brûlée and how to cut fancy oranges! lol We were able to eat everything we made at the end and I promise you this would have cost at least $40 or more at a nice restaurant lol. We had enough to be able to take some leftovers

We came here for a cooking class that we booked online. This store is located on the west side of the South Coast Plaza mall on the first floor. We booked the "Summertime in Italy" class ($89 per person) in which we made caprese salad, fettuccine carbonara, and berry crostata. The class was 16 people which was split into four groups of four people. Our chef Jerry walked us through the steps of everything from making the pasta dough, making the fettuccine sauce, and chopping the herbs to make the salad. At the end, we got to eat our creations and everything was delicious! I loved the bacon and the creaminess of the carbonara, the caprese salad was so fresh, and the berry crostata was a sweet way to end the meal. Our class also gave us 10% off in the store so we enjoyed walking through the store. Overall we had fun in the class and had a good time.

The sales ladies here really don't want to wait on customers. They scurry about organizing and adjusting stuff while there are two or three people waiting in line ! one of them walked away from the register while we were in the line. And they are not at all friendly. maybe they should find work they like instead.

Loved our cooking class! So much fun and we walked away with all the macrons we made!

Purchased Le Creuset Signature 5-piece Set. Within 24 hours the purchase price had been withdrawn from my account and a shipping label created. Three and a half weeks later there hadbeen NO movement of the package. Four inquires to Sur La Table, who just kept saying it was Le Creuset's problem and would get back to me, but never did. Now I am told by the phone customer service they will "review a possible refund". No way to seek a refund on the website for a product paid for but never received. Don't advertise a product you can not deliver and take responsibility for your vendors. Very poor service. Look elsewhere for the products they sell!
