We often go pair Tabu Shabu with a wine tasting at Hi-Times, especially because we have someone with Celiac disease in our party and they are very aware of gluten allergies and are able to accomodate accordingly. The service is wonderful; the staff and always friendly and attentive.I also appreciate the cleanliness of their bathroom! The wait isn't too bad if you go at the right times. The only wish I have would be that the meat portions be a bit bigger.

Meh. Ok shabu place. Ok taste, ok amount of meat. Also wasn't crowded and parking was easy - definitely a plus.I'd give it 4 stars but my friend got food poisoning after eating raw egg here. He had diarrhea for 3 days.

Really cute ambiance and friendly service. The salmon was cut super thin, which maybe is the way you're supposed to have it but it wasn't pleasant to eat paper thin fish. The veggies were plentiful and delicious and I enjoyed the spicy miso broth. Free mochi sampler with yelp check in was a nice way to end the meal.

Amazing service, restaurant is very clean and all around great food! Meat was very high quality along with all of the other vegetables and sides, and it was overall a very fun experience will definitely be coming back!

No surprise, regular shabu. Our friends found a piece of nail from her soup, they reduce only $8 bucks out of $170 for food quality... Just average...

I came in here on a Sunday afternoon right before they closed until dinner service. The waitress was really kind and took me in. I got the two types of meat: chuck eye and ribeye. The side of veggies and the noodles were plenty and the kale noodles were delicious. You can substitute your veggies which I think it's nice but I liked everything it came with. I got a spicy miso broth and it was okay, not much flavor, but paired well with my meat and vegetables. I added some miso paste to it when I got home. I had extra veggies and noodles as well in which the waitress helped me pack to go. The restaurant was very spacious and clean inside and I like the way the seats are set up. The meal definitely cured my hot pot cravings. I'd definitely love to return and try the other meats and broths. Service was really great and it's such a nice place to dine alone or with a group.

Pretty solid option for Shabu on this side of OC! The service was super helpful! They answered all our questions and were very attentive. I got the the pork broth and asked for the flavor bomb. I would recommend asking for 2. 1 for the broth and 1 to actually dip the meats in. You sit in a row rather than facing each other so keep this in mind in case you are coming with a larger party. Parking is in a large lot so it was easy to find. the wait is short even for a Saturday evening.

I love Tabu Shabu - Huntington Beach location so I assumed this would be the same thing. Unfortunately, it is not consistent and was disappointed.I ordered the Tonkatsu which is what I order at the other location and it does not taste the same. The broth tasted like it was watered down and it did not have any flavor. I had to add soy sauce to see if it could help out a bit. The meat and veggies were good though, that is why they are getting two stars. It was also clean. Customer service could be better. There is plenty of parking and it is open later than the other locations. Other locations close at 8 p.m. and this one closes at 11 p.m.

Solid shabu spot -- the meats were high quality and like that they offer a grass-fed beef option! I went with the large size which is ~5.5 oz, and it was a good amount of food though I think I'd opt for double protein if I were to go when very hungry. The only thing that left me wanting were the sauces -- the goma and ponzu were both just okay so that was a bit of a bummer since the sauces are so key, but everything else was great. The wooden plates/bowls they use are also so cute and the servers were so friendly and sweet. They don't take reservations and there was a small wait but they were turning seats quite quickly and efficiently.

The food here is delicious. Haven't had anything here we didn't like.4 stars because service has been inconsistent. Some of their staff is really awesome, attentive, and friendly. Some are lost, charge for included items, and aren't available when you need to order something. Jeff, the owner has been beer hospitable and quick to respond to emails.

What a dope spot in Costa Mesa! Gives you Tokyo vibes. From the moment we walked in - we were given a warm welcome. Hot sake, tonkotsu, and some freakn delicious Prime Level Ribeye. Thanks to the crew who helped create a great night. Definitely come back.
