Schmidt’s is a must-visit in Crescent City! I will now have to drive up from Humboldt just to visit. My son loved the Crawfish Boil, we fought over the delicious Crawdad Fritters, and their house salad with blackened shrimp was amazing. One of the best meals I’ve had in months! So grateful for the light of this gem on the north coast. Lovely staff, incredible view, great atmosphere, but the FOOD. I wish I could have eaten one of everything.

Oh my gosh! The Muffelatta is so good! Try the boudin balls too, you won't be disappointed. They are doing a seasonal brunch on Sunday's right now featuring crepes. We can't wait to go back to try that. The waitstaff is top notch. Highly recommend!

Food is incredibly consistent and never disappoints. My go to items are any variation of the blackened Po’Boy and the peel and eat shrimp. Simple, hearty, well seasoned food.Love these damn guys. Keep on rollin babay.Parking: Amazing location right on the beach. I don’t have to explain why this is prime real estate.Wheelchair accessibility: nice long ramp out front for those who need it.

Very expensive, small portions, poor quality food. Rice was instant rice. Chairs that you sat on, were made of metal and very uncomfortable. The waiter was great.

I would say I would have given a better rating but first I wanted to prefus. We are local (brookings). We are retired and eat out at least 4 times a week. I was hoping to find another great place to frequent. Food was good but I feel their focused on tourist trade. My jambalaya was $4 higher than website and now $22. Served in what looks like nothing more than a small butter dish.I don't mind paying for good food but their mainstay draw should have been wow factor . We may come back to try fish and chips see what happens.

The crawfish critters were good and that's it. We had jambalaya and po boys and bisque. My shrimp in the bisque was falling apart and my blackened shrimp in my po boy was so overcooked and hard. My husbands snapper sandwich had so much seasoning , it was overpowering. I don't recommend. It was spendy and not worth it in my opinion.

Probably the closest thing that I’ve had to real Cajun food out here in the west! Good amount of spice and flavor. One thing that bothered me was the portion sizes. They are pretty small for pricing. Would recommend for people wanting a taste of the south.

The best restaurant in CC. The owners are super nice, food is fabulous! Keep an eye out for their specials. Servers will take good care of you. Sometimes have live music which adds to their already great vibe.

Their French dip sandwich is my favorite thing to get. Very flavorful on a fresh roll. The au jus is delicious. It's hard to stray from my usual order here but I have tried the French onion soup which is also very good.

Annoyed I'm Too Full - and So Good We Bought a Tshirt I love New Orleans, having spent many a business trip eating at amazing restaurants serving authentic creole food (gumbo, crabs/shrimp bisque, jambalaya, turtle soup etc). And I, prior to Schmidt's- have YET had the "once in a lifetime" savory and complex spices and flavors outside of NOLA. That is - until our lunch today. Welcomed by the charming server, and past Michelin Star trained/restaurant mgr, Robb - we knew Yelp had done us good once we arrived and he told us what we had in store for us. Holy crap! Started with the shrimp bisque ....and I devoured it...stopping to pause a few times (to try to show self control) to figure out what the unique spices were. Then we had to try the jambalaya - and also blackened snapper Po'boy (a Robb favorite). There is so much more to try - and yet we have to travel up the coast back home..and I'm too damn full to order more! All authentic...made from scratch. You WON'T be sorry. And you just might decide to extend or delay your trip up or down the coast to stay and eat local again. :)

Best food I had on this trip! The shrimp po boy was amazing. I had mine blackened. My sister had the shrimp Bisque. She let me try it and It was LOADED with seafood. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. We were traveling with a group of 5, and the other 3 went to a different seafood restaurant in the same parking area. I am glad that we made the choice to split up and try this restaurant based on the Yelp reviews. It didn't disappoint!

Absolutely amazing service. The boudin balls were good, the jambalaya was a tasty, and perfectly spicy take on Creole styled jambalaya. The desert was decadent. Being from Louisiana, I'm pretty critical when it comes to Louisiana cuisine outside of The Boot. I'm glad I wasn't disappointed with this place. Can't wait to go back and try out something else!
