Gong Cha has closed...RIP, this place had the best earl gray milk tea and topping to drink ratio in the city. Employees were so nice, hope the new Ume Tea is as good

This is by far one of the best bubble tea places around. But their limited open hours and the fact that they make you pay a fee for credit card usage is very unfortunate. I would love to get some tea on my way to work in the morning or after a morning workout. But they don’t open until 12 noon! Also, there is just no good reason why a mainstream chain tea shop like this should not be able to front he cost of credit card transaction fees. Seems unreasonable stingy.Even still, I come back again and again (only in the afternoons when it is open) for great bubble tea.

I had a brown sugar milk tea yesterday. The middle part of boba is not soft, I think they used old one that are remained overnight.

I fail to understand businesses that do not accept "legal tender" in the form of $100 Bills. Is that denomination too complicated for their accounting people to deal with? I don't blame the workers, they obviously don't make the policy. It's ludicrous to think that a large order of drinks can't be paid for with a $100 bill.Additionally, Gong Cha should just remove the grapefruit drinks from their menu. They never have it in stock. I've tried at least 5 times in the last 3 months to order it. Back to Sharetea and Lazy Cow for the tribe.

Gong Cha has the best Thai tea out of all the tea spots in Davis. We have tried them all and nothing compares! They also have a nice rewards program, friendly staff and fast service.

My order got skipped... I waited for more than 15 mins and I saw 3 people after me got their stuff. They finally started working on my order after I ask them after waiting for 15 mins... (There were no one that's waiting in line before I arrived. ) And then I waited for another 15 minutes. So that's a totally of 30 mins waiting while there were less than 10 customers in the store. I got no sorry at all after I raised the issue to them. I almost never give one star but this time the experience is very bad.
My children love this place for the passion fruit tea with coconut jelly. I haven't actually been able to try anything else since the place is so popular I don't have time to wait.

The egg waffle is too freaking tiny. The other GongChas have much lager portions. And the drinks taste fine.

Gong cha makes pretty good drinks. I do try to limit my boba intake to maintain some illusion of health though... Some places have a starbucks on every corner, Davis has a boba shop on every corner. Surprising for this farm/college town. Honestly, you can't go wrong at any of the boba shops in town. Though, I'm not really a boba snob. As long as I'm not sipping up solid milk tea powder, I'm pretty content. I got an earl grey milk tea and a QQ passionfruit green tea. Both were tasty and well made. I got them both 0% sweet with 25% ice. I usually find boba drinks too sugary, so always opt for the least sweet option. 0% is just right! Gong cha is amazing though. One time I overestimated my ability to balance two drinks while opening the door to leave, dropped one of the drinks... And the workers replaced my drink. A+ customer service. The five star rewards system is also pretty nice. Save up for a free drink, a boba bauble, a gift card, and even get a free drink the week of your birthday. They also have random deals throughout the year. Oh, and there's a free upgrade from medium to large weekdays from 4-6pm. The employees do a great job social distancing. There's plexiglass separating the customers and cashiers/ workers. They have a shelf for doordashers, and you just grab your drink off the counter if you're ordering for yourself.
