This is the classic "homestyle" diner; better than IHOP or Dennys. The food was fresh; good quality and tasted well, came out very quickly as well. It a bit on the pricy side, however the portions are HIGE.Service was splendid, quick and prompt.Everything was clean and spotless.Rather drive here 15 mins away and enjoy better quality food than go to any commercial chain restaurant.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian optionsThe menu was clear on ingredientsKid-friendliness: There's a kid menu and the prices are affordableParking: Plenty of parking at the adjacent lotWheelchair accessibility: It is easily accessibleDietary restrictions: Plenty of options to eat for gluten free/ celiacs friendly

I’ve lived in El Cajon over 30 years, I’ve passed Bonny’s Cafe too many times to count. On Tuesday, April 11th, my mechanic was sick with a flu virus and still working so I looked up where to purchase soup near me, Bonny’s Cafe was first that popped up on Google Search. I came in and ordered the soup of the day to buy for my mechanic. I checked on him this morning, he looks so much better than he did on yesterday, he thanked me for the soup and said it was very delicious , it taste like your grandmother’s soup? so wanted say thank you . I will definitely come and visit to eat other foods on your menu.

I have never had a bad meal, service, or bad experience at Bonny's. The food is always good, and Alex' daily soups are good. The best way to have the broccoli and Cheddar is with some fresh Cheddar sprinkled on top! Or the chicken salad sandwich on Wednesday is so good!Kid-friendliness: Plenty of families come in and never a problem.Parking: Adjacent to the restaurant is their plenty of spaces parking lot for them and the other businesses next to the restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: There is plenty of room to navigate a wheelchair.

I was looking for a new venue for breakfast and found one. I had the omelette with polish sausage with pancakes. My wife had the avocado omelette with biscuits and gravy. The omelettes were loaded with ingredients and had great flavor. The pancakes which were light and not too fluffy. A great local find and definitely worth visiting again.

Really good food for the price. Cool atmosphere. Makes you feel like you went back in time to the 1950 s. Try the enchilada omelet. So good.Food: 4/5
Phenomenal place for breakfast. Try the enchilada omelet choice of sides. And comes with toast or 2 fluffy pancakes. Savoring every bite. Delicious salsa and delightful service. Definitely hooked. ?Food: 5/5

This was my grandpa's favorite restaurant to go to. I lost my grandpa to pancreatic cancer two years ago this November. The staff here treat you like family. Amazing food.

The restaurant is located off of Broadway and there is easy access to the parking lot. Parking is on the west side of the building.Upon entry we were greeted by a friendly staff and fabulous fifties atmosphere. Great oldies were playing a the red and checkered decor. We sat in a comfortable booth and were quickly greeted by our server. She was kind and had a great smile. Unfortunately I didn't make note of her name. Our drinks were delivered quickly and she was patient with us while we perused the menu. I appreciated that she kept our cups full with refills. The menu is limited, but it is a good variety of options. We were a little disappointed that some of the items from older menu photos were no longer available. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but it is to be expected with the increase in the cost of their supplies. We ordered the French Toast with a side of bacon and the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs with hashbrowns and a side of biscuits and gravy. The French Toast was a large portion of fluffy thick toast. It was served with butter, syrup, and powdered sugar. It was DELICIOUS! The side of bacon was cooked crispy and had great flavor. I HIGHLY recommend this breakfast.Unfortunately the review of the Chicken Fried Steak platter isn't as good. The steak was a good size for breakfast. I was glad I asked for the gravy on the side, it turned out i did not care for the taste. The gravy was a bit bland and the chunks of meat in the gravy was not good. The scrambled eggs were cooked just right and were fresh and fluffy. The hashbrowns were extremely greasy and smashed into a thin serving. The hashbrowns tasted as though an old oil was used to cook them. The biscuits and gravy, also left something to be desired. While I didn't enjoy my breakfast as much as my companion, I will come back to try something else on their menu.

Early morning eateries with atmosphere are becoming a thing of the past here in Calif. Here is good food and lots of old timers wanting fellowship to share. This is the place for that. Good service too!
