This seems to be primarily a business hotel, but the staff is all very friendly. It's located across the street from the police station, so seem very safe. The room was very nice, but we had a 4-person room with only enough coffee and glasses for 2 people. We did get more from the front desk but seems a little odd to us. I stayed in the Courtyard by Marriott in El Cajon in June, 2022, due to a family emergency. I needed a room with excellent Wi-Fi internet connection to be able to work at night. I found the room was excellent as well as the enhanced Wi-Fi. The staff accommodated my need to extend my stay and were very courteous and helpful.
Our spacious room had a view of jacaranda trees (only in bloom a certain time of year.) In any event you get a view of parking lots since you're in the center of town. Inside, outside the pool area is a lovely covered seating section great for a cool drink on a hot afternoon. The bar has draft beer and a selection of other libations.
