Always comfortable with good food and friendly staff. The main problem with Fat Apples is that you have to walk past huge pastry cases loaded with house-made pastries, cookies and pies. The specials are great. My favorite specials are the chicken schnitzel with their sublime spaetzel ( I've yet to encounter other such delicate spaetzel in the area) and anything with their salsa verde. You'll walk out satisfied and probably carrying a bag of those insidiously displayed cookies. Or a pastry. Or a pie.Vegetarian options: There's vegetarian pizza if you get there early enough. All salads can be made vegetarian and vegan, on request. Breakfast selections include a great garden scramble, which can be made vegan if you request no cheese.Parking: Parking can be difficult on a weekend morning. Popular place.Kid-friendliness: This is a favorite place with families. The menu is easy and inviting for kids. It's not unusual to see big family groups of multiple generations. People bring their kids for meals after they finish their kung fu lessons across the street. You just have to get the kids past the cookies.Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible with ramps, flat surfaces, large restrooms with safety rails.

This is a pricey cafe but the food is great. I had an amazing grilled chicken sandwich. I wish they would have other side options besides the greasy fries that come with the sandwich. Fries were just ok.

I was craving some good soul type of food. I had the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy. It was really good! The potatoes were real! Not from a box. The meatloaf was moist and a surprising flavor that was addictive.

Great place for food and conversation! The wait staff is super friendly and they’ll keep your coffee cups full as can be ☕️
Old school vibe. Mediocre food with high prices. Go for the pies but not the food.

Pastry quality has changed Dramatically for the worse. Croissant was dry, not flaky and marzipan fill was scant compared to the past. No more buttery scones, flaky cheese twist sticks… will not go out of our way to return. This was the second time back in 1 year, thought we’d give it one more go.

I've been here more times than I can count. I've recommended this place to several people. I like how some of their breakfast items comes with a pastry from the display case. I've come here for a slice of/or whole pie for 'Pi day'. Simple, hearty breakfast/brunch items, and great coffee!Update 12/23First time out with toddler and baby post CV. The staff is very friendly and the service was exceptional. I do miss the old menu, and hopeful that they will bring some parts of it back. It's now cafe style where you order first and seat yourselves.
