Food was not bad , price was reasonable. Only issue I’m having with is it took forever for the food to come out

A hidden gem in the area! Great authentic HK style food at an excellent price along with parking. What else can you ask for? Definitely will be back to try their other dishes.

Great food but it has a wait time. But it's totally understandable.

Formerly known as HK Home Kitchen. My bf and I have ordered takeout from here several times (via phone and NOT GrubHub!!) and they've never failed us. Would recommend! For COVID safety purposes, capacity is limited and masks are required. They're located along San Pablo, so parallel parking only. Staff are brusque and straightforward, but always make sure to get your order right. Their portions are huge without sacrificing quality, even with the tremendously extensive menu. 3-4 dishes has been more than enough for the two of us. Of the dishes we've ordered here, our favorites have been: - EGG DROP SAUCE PRAWNS OVER RICE - SEAFOOD PAN FRIED CRISPY NOODLES - TOMATO AND SCRAMBLED EGGS - DRY SCALLOP AND EGG WHITE FRIED RICE Reasonable prices & great comfort food, some with a Western twist (see: cheese...). We haven't dined in yet, but it's been a great option for lazy dinners with plenty to spare for leftovers.

Tasty and not crazy over priced Chinese food. You do have to wait as they are short staffed. Otherwise nothing to complain

The portions were huge and price was reasonable and the tea was great as was the soup. The Bitter Melon Beef tasted weird, bitter melon is bitter but it tasted strange in a way I'm not sure I've tasted before. I then got severe food poisoning around an hour or two after. So, your milage may vary with this place, but I might not return. Maybe I just had bad luck or something. Maybe avoid the bitter melon here...

standard fare, but sort of bland. went on a wonton soup crawl around san pablo, and while the portion was generous, the flavor of both the broth and dumplings were lacking. also got some gai lan and beef -- same issue.try this place, but i'd also recommend looking at little hong kong for hk chinese food.

The food was ok. Had lots variety. The service is slow and not very organized. I enjoyed the bitter melon with pork spareribs.

I have ordered from this place many times. They used to be more generous with their portions and the quality was much better. The last time we ordered we already noticed that the quality was going down a bit. A lot of the stir fry meat dishes was filled with filler veggies and barely meat. The honey walnut shrimp was not good at all. Today was worst and I don't think I will come back. I ordered pork chop over rice. This is a very common Hong Kong dish and usually the portions are big everywhere you go. When I got the pork chop it was 2 very very thin slices. You can't even call it pork chop because it was like a thin slice of meat. I also ordered black bean spare ribs. Black bean spare ribs is usually steamed with garlic and black bean sauce but today they mixed it with a bunch of filler vegetables and barely and spare ribs. I feel like they are just cutting corners now. I know prices of food went up but it's messed up that you charge more than before but instead of up keeping the quality you charge more but cut corners. Therefore I will not be back

It's a good place for a quick meal. Quality is good, the people are friendly once you're seated. There is an immense menu. The food is brought in takeout containers currently which takes a bit away from the dining experience, and the room is windowless and a bit old. However the Chinese locals come here and clearly enjoy their time there. I thought the food was good but not special.

Not worth it. I gave this a second try hoping it would be better this time around but I was sadly disappointed. The green beans were somehow both over cooked and undercooked, some of the raw and crunchy, others so overdone they were soggy and stringy. The rest of the dishes were bland and dry. The only thing I would eat again is the long donut, which is good although it too is not seasoned in any way.

We've come here for many years, but it is now slipping, down the drain. First, the lady chef, or the owner, has been very rude at times but yesterday was top the chart. One dish we ordered never came and when I checked (after 30-min wait time), she insisted that she had put it on our table herself, and we have already finished it. WHAT? Ok, this is personal now. EVERY container and dish plate was still there to validate, so I asked her to point "which one was for that dish", and she rolled her eyes just said she ALREADY served it, storming off back to the kitchen. The four of us, two new to this place as my guests, all swore that we had not have any glance of her nearing our table the entire time that night. Actually, I had her shouting at me a few months earlier when I entered and asked to be seated, but she was too occupied and she shouted at me to WAIT there. Her younger brother (floor manager) came to soften the scene so I let go of that, blaming on the pandemic stressing us out. But this time even the brother could not help validating whether the dish was made and served. She was too loud to take in any communication and he just went with the motion, "No?...eh, Yes?...Ok, ok." At checkout, I made sure it was properly charged, but saw every item had a higher price than shown in the manual, and the tax was 10.25%? with a credit card surcharge? Normally a 70-dollar meal now became 100! We decided this would be the last time we take such service.

Reminds me of the cafes in Hong Kong with an eclectic menu. Have been going there since it was called Max's Wok in El Cerrito. Food is good , inexpensive and plentiful. Ordering takeout or dining in is fast. We went there often before the pandemic, now we order takeout at the restaurant and pick up at the same time.
